Then I occasionally played a few games on my computer when it was new - it was actually built with some decent gaming specs way back. Now I wouldn't mind just renting a couple of games a month and playing them once in awhile in the living room. I'd just be renting for the most part. Standard TV. [Link] |

The Wii is totally motion based, the PS3 some motion with the controller and the x360 has no motion in the controller. (by motion I mean waving the controller around to do things in the game). Second, does a BluRay play sound appealing? If you are playing on a standard TV, I'd presume looking amazing isn't top on the list, so if BluRay isn't a must, I'd narrow it down to the Wii or X360. Third, try to find out what games appeal to you. Do you prefer more M rated games or more E games. From all the games I have seen, the X360 and PS3 are geared more toward the late 20s/early 30s gamer. Personally I love blood, guts and violence. Going on the library it currently has and it's price, I would say X360. I have one and love it. I love the weigh of the controller, Xbox live is kind of cool (lots of retro games you can download for a few bucks), and as stated, the library. Additionally, the X360 has been out a while and so the games could run on it smoother - example, Madden 08 and NCAA Football 08 both run at 60 frames per second on the 360, but run at 30 frames per second. Some of the games I'm interested in (future and present): Ninja Gaiden 2 (will be available on X360) Rock Band (will be available on X360/PS3) Guitar Hero 3 (will be available on X360/PS3/Wii) BioShock (available on X360) Jericho (will be available on X360/PS3) Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (will be available on X360/PS3) Assassin's Creed (will be available on X360/PS3) My best friend has a PS3 but the guy has yet to get a game for it. Although some cool games are coming for it exclusively - Heavenly Sword, Metal Gear Solid: Guns of the Patriot and Gran Tourismo 5: Prologue I'll also throw in I have a Wii, it's for my son (Xmas - I know it's early but I had top get it before I couldn't find one  ) and it hasn't been played yet. Although I plan on getting Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Manhunt 2 and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption for it.That's my advice. Once you add them all up, these things don't really differ in price quite as much as you may think. 2) The kinds of games you want to play, both current and future releases. While the more popular games often are released on multiple platforms, some are exclusive to a specific platform. Halo is a good example. 3) How much you want to play solo, versus others in the same room with you, or versus others online. I love co-op play with my kids and that's a high criteria for me. 4) What kind of equipment you have to hook this stuff into....Hi Def and Dolby are great features of a high-end gaming system, but if all you have is a 20" color mono TV, the extra features are going to be worthless to you. For us, the Xbox360 is the most played console in the house. The Wii is fun to play with my young son who really doesn't need to be exposed to violent games and seems to thoroughly "get" the motion controls. I enjoy a few adult games on that system, but there aren't many...most are pretty much just fun family style games. The PS2 has been retired to the basement rec room for the DDR and Guitar Hero games now. But let your budget and your primary game interest drive your ultimate decision. The Wii has done amazingly well in the sales race since last holiday season...I'd expect it to be in short supply again this season as well. [Link] |

If you buy a machine because of what *might* come later, you can be easily screwed. We all of anticipated titles that were cancelled, or came out and turned out to be hugely disappointing. I think one of the big problems with the PS3 isn't the high cost (though it doesn't help), it's that it doesn't have it's own Halo. [Link] |

If have more than one machine that can satisfy that, then go down to a store and kick a kid off it, and get a little hands-on time with the machines you're interested in. | Tristram Member 80 Posts 2/06 | Posted - Nov 13 2007 : 7:15AM As long as not enough people buy a PS3, game developers will probably not invest the time and money needed to fully utilize the cell processor, and as long as they don't do that people have no reason to buy a PS3 (currently the 360 tends to beat the PS3 in head-to-head comparisons of games available on both consoles, and on top of that it wins in terms of the exclusive games that are available). This might very well turn out to be a vicious circle for Sony & Co. As someone already said, the only reason to get a PS3 is that you also get a fairly cheap and fairly good blu-ray player included in the package. [Link] |

Both Super Mario Galaxy and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune are superb exclusives. And Heavenly Sword was one of my favorite gaming experiences of 2007. The PS3 is the most powerful system out there... but developers are still a ways away from learning how to take advantage of its power. Until then, we're gonna continue to see inferior PS3 versions of games such as Rainbow Six: Vegas, Assassin's Creed, and Spider-Man 3. In all 3 cases, the PS3 version has significantly more problems maintaining a steady framerate, compared to the XB360 versions. In the case of Rainbow Six, it just looks better on XB360. Whatever you decide, make sure you get at least an XBOX 360 or a Playstation 3 this year. Why? So you can play Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the most kick-ass, mind-blowing adrenaline rush I've had in a long, long time. [Link] |

The game just seems bad ass using the WiiMote to play. Strangling and stabbing and such with motion controller... NICE! RE is one of those ones I wanna play, but I'm not sure if I ever will.
