Drew -

Today, for some reason, threads that have been started or added to since my last visit do not have a different file color. You know, when its a thread you have read, the little file is yellow, but when its new or added onto, the file turns purple.

This has happened on new threads and old.

Or is it just me?

That problem was probably clear as mud.

What browser do you have? I've noticed Firefox doesn't allow you to force a refresh every visit to the page.

That means if you hit the back button you get the same page regardless if the underlying contents have changed (like new posts or a different colour folder icon)

Of course that could be totally wrong. Next time it happens try pressing F5 in Internet Explorer or Ctrl+R in Firefox.

Right now, I'm using IE, but thinking of going Firefox. I was swayed by the recent thread in here to go towards Firefox, so I will try it this weekend.

I tried the F5 and refresh icon to no avail.

Aren't those colors controlled by cookies? It's probably a problem with that, not what browser you're using.

I screwed something up today. I was tryign to clean up some database tables. The table that keeps track of which which users have read which thread was up to 285k rows. I deleted everything older than 90 days which screwed up the display of yellow and blue folders. I'm working on it but I think it will correct itself in 24 hours.

I have been getting some odd behavior in that every time I've come to the site after an hour or so (length of time can't be confirmed, has only happened the last few days) and click on active topics it appears as if there are no active topics since the last visit.

Redish, try firefox, it's pretty good. I'm still getting used to tabbed browsing though. I wish the tabs were across the bottom like excel.

Drew -

The problem has sorted itself out, for me at least.

Thanks
