It is really valuable to hear about your RL experience. The high turnover of talent is definitely also a problem because it gives very few the chance to develop as performers.
It is certainly odd when the likes of Katie St Ives and London Keyes don't seem to get steady work.
Not sure how long the industry can rely on conning younng performers about thd economics of the industry.

Thanks I'm more than happy to share!
And I think people are starting to wise up to the fact.
Sales are dropping off and then we have things like prop 60 pop up

The high turnover rate is the most irritating trend in porn now. It seems that would be a top issue for the industry but it continues. Also wm/bf is boring but it is the only time Black women work that is probably why they leave so quickly. Hopefully Marie Washington, Eva Quinn, Britney White some others will do Black on Black before they leave. The only answer to these problems is consumers re-structuring the industry or build a new one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This happens because work quickly dies off for us new girls.
People recruit us into the industry by feeding us misinformation and not telling us the whole truth.
"Oh you'll make $20,000 your first month"
"Oh we'll pay all your travel expenses" etc. etc.
Then when we're two months in BAM!, we suddenly stop getting shoots and most girls are left in the lurch about what to do because no one ever told them how to make extra money aside from shooting.
The people out here in CA only want one thing and that's how much $$ they can get from us girls. ESPECIALLY new girls.
Because if an agency recruits a ton of new girls, only to have them quit porn two months later, they're still making a killing. And this happens over and over.
I had to learn this the hard way. And I'm barely hanging on now.
Only a small percentage of girls that come into this industry stay in it for any length of time. I'm determined to defy the status quo

Sorry to hear about your situation but like a earlier poster said it is good to hear RL stories. I always thought consumers could change porn but we need some people inside the industry help. Basically if a few actors and directors shared some info we can make some changes. 20,000 per month sounds reasonable in a billion dollar industry.

Bang Bros is the worst about this. They dont even bring back the big stars who really have made it big. Not even Dani Daniels!! I have been begging them to bring back Chloe Amour but they dont seem to want to listen to me. What I also dont like is the decrease in milfs. You have the Asian queen of softcore Akira Lane trying to get into hardcore and Brazzers doesnt seem to want to hire her again. Seriously Brazzers??? Seriously porn industry??? She had better be asking for too much money if they arent shooting her.

^^ A ideal porn industry would have superstars..It would have diversity and it would have consumer feedback. The actors should share in profits and have incentives to keep them in the business. That does not sound like much and consumers can make it happen. We just need some info and in my case a way to build the organization organically online.. that is the hard part because someone would blow it.

There are some valid points in this thread, but the real reason there is a lower quantity of quality girls in the US is the decline of sales
The level of production in Los Angeles is the lowest it has been in over twenty years and very few models are able to make ends meet without having a job outside of shooting scenes
More and more production has moved outside of the US to Europe where there is a larger talent pool and lower production costs
In 2014 I shot over 500 scenes in the US, this year I made my mind up to move all of my production to Europe.

I think this year porn is general has been too generic where you know by the studio/actor/actress what you going to get without watching it. I would say in the last few years for every 10 scenes 1 is worth watching.

2016 = Shit loads of compilations from Elegant Angel. Hard X movies (tease scenes especially) all look the same. JAY SIN HAS QUIT!. And to cap it off a movie that I have been waiting for for years 'Big Butt Oil Orgy #3' looks disappointing, is it just me or do other people hate it when you have a line of sexy ass girls teasing the camera but there's male interaction as well. Nothing against the male porn stars but don't get in the way of the view.

^^I think porn could make a turnaround I wish I knew more about the business management end of the industry..I think the some studios were subsidized for a time and they stopped shooting porn and started doing parodies along with some racism that caused the slump.

The slump is caused by lack of sales due to piracy and free content online, it has nothing to with parodies, racism or a subsidy

^ I certainly dont deny that piracy is a huge part of the problem, but also I go on what look like promo sites that have extended previews of the scenes, and they look like they are approved by the copyright holders. Now these are just previews, but theyre something like 4 3 minute clips, which adds up to about a third or a fourth of the entire scene. And the fourth clip usually contains the money shot. While these promo sites dont stop me from joining the paysite eventually, I can tell you that they cause me to wait significantly longer than I otherwise would to join. Seems to me that the industry needs to somehow get together and agree to only show a certain amount of the scene. Very little of the sex act should be shown, and what is shown should be censored in the free section, and no money shots. Ofcourse, that wont happen with Manwin owning the tube sites. Also, porn stars need to stop putting their porn pics all over their twitter.
To fix the problem of the tube sites, porn needs its own Steve Jobs.

I know I said a few times porn needs a czar and it is not structured to handle the problems it faces. I also said a few times I will not be giving solutions for free especially to a industry that's been overtly racist. The best move for entrepreneurs is to let the current regime fade and replace them.

Ok, where do I start? First off according to Freeones and IAFD, Aletta Ocean isn't retired and neither is Ava - at least get your facts straight. Second of all, just because you can't find scenes that get YOU off doesn't mean this is the worst year in porn. Different strokes for different folks; case in point there are alot of fetishes/trends that don't do squat for me such as anal and interracial. Kayden only does women since she is involved with Manuel. I will grant you some have retired but new people are always are coming in. This business has a high rate of turnover.
