I just don't see the point of doing it just in the image viewer. Personally, I use images in various programs, and obviously also on the internet (in browsers), so if you don't like the colors, I think it's better to calibrate them globally.

We all know Irfanview is awesome and this program doesn't even come close to matching it in terms of features and versatility. What it does do that Irfanview doesn't is this. I have had no luck getting my color settings on my monitor right no matter how much I tweak the controls. I can get pretty close but many images are still badly off-color. What this program does is it has a stupid simple color management function that allows you to set it up to display accurate colors with sliders for red, green and blue. The difference is subtle but definitely noticeable if you're viewing images that have accurate colors to start with. What it doesn't do is it doesn't have many zoom settings so when you zoom in on an image, if it zooms in to far, you're just SOL. You can't adjust the zoom step as far as I can tell. But I urge those of you who are having trouble getting accurate colors on still photos to give it a try. Especially if it bugs the piss out of you to look at off color photos. It's freeware. 11View At Snapfiles Also. They may look fine on the internet and general computer stuff but the slightest deviations from the perfect color settings really show on photos if you're picky. I can't stand it if something is supposed to be pink but is only *almost* pink but not quite. This doesn't show up as much on the web or I don't care as much because I'm not trying to jack off to the ADT banner. But when I'm looking at a picture of a naked woman, it really does matter if her skin doesn't look right. [Link] |
