I have to say I'm tired of all this crap where the porn companies advertise their DVDs are packed with tons of extra features and all it is some cumshot recap, a lame photo gallery, a web link, maybe a phone sex advertisement on some, and a shitty behind the scenes. To me this is false advertising!
The heart of the issue is the behind the scenes. They are really starting to piss me off! I love Anabolic and Diabolic films, but their Behind the Scenes "feature" really suck! I don't get off on Chico Wang (dumbest porn name ever) or some director asking about when girls took it up the ass for the first time, and calling her a dirty whore and getting her to agree.
Most recently the one that really set me off was the one on Gangbang Auditons #18. First off he talks to Hillary Scott about pissing and urinating. That's just flat out disgusting! And he kept bringing it up over and over again! I immediatedly lost any feeling horny I had going for me for the next 2 or 3 days. Then they show some dude fucking her behind the scenes. Okay fine he's a pro, he was in the scene. But then some BIG FAT SLOB that must work behind the scenes or something, pulls down his pants and tries to fuck her with his tiny little penis. This fat ass should be no where near a beatiful woman, let alone getting his dick sucked and almost get to fuck her. It made me want to throw up! I don't think it's funny, and it makes me think less of Hillary Scott for blowing him and even letting that guy try to fuck her. This guy had like one of the smallest dicks I've ever seen too, and a huge belly. This all is pathetic!!!! Please STOP doing shit like this!! It takes me out of the mood, and frankly makes me think less of some of the performers. Don't performers care about their image?
I could go on and on, but this one in particular really set me off! I wish porn companies wouldn't advertise their DVDs as packed with tons of extras when it's the same old lame shit. I wish Anabolic and Diabolic put more trailers on their DVDs like they used to. That way I can see if something is worth buying, before I buy it. Seems like it'd be a smart marketing ploy. I like the companies that give us lots of trailers that are relevant to the DVD. So hopefully all this lame ass bullshit will stop since we are the customers that are keeping them in jobs.

i agree with you.
BTS should be focused on the girls and how they prep, no corny interviews. It should also focus on how the scene setup was made and any bloopers (those are always fun to watch).
As for the fuckin lamo photo gallery, I think they should be cut out from the DVDs. Honestly, who browses the photo gallery when they have a DVD worth of full action? Leave the pics for the websites.

Well lot of girls have fuck ron jeremy...so after that there not much more disgusting guy possible...anyway who make you watch the extra? if the big guy with small dick like you say is in the extra only, then fine watch only the main flick. And personally i must say interview i don`t care much, but i love to see behind the scene such as when the girl get facial then they say cut and she start to talk or she kinda freak out and go wash herself, i always love that kind of thing. There some time when a girl get a facial and its obvious in her eyes she is angry of how it go(in the eyes etc) and damn i would like to have the uncut version in the extra. Personally thats something i like. But i agree that photo gallery are completely useless(who care about pic when you have the movie) and advertising is not real extra , its just anoying. Trailer are cool but can`t be considered much an extra, its more a publicity here too. For extra personally i like lof of behing the scene, girl reaction when she do something or they tell her she would have to do it etc
I wish the reviewers would give more details regarding the extras and BTS when they post their comments on any given DVD.
Not asking for a blow-by-blow. Not that. But more than just saying that there is a BTS.
Some reviewers just mention that extras and BTS are there.
Some reviewers do mention the number of minutes of BTS, and I think that is good . (Thanks!) Some give some detail. That is great (Thanks again!) I guess what I'm saying is that it would be fantastic if more reviewers realized the importance of BTS to a lot of buyers out there, and gave enough information to let the buyer know what to expect.
This is not meant to berate any or all reviewers. Far from it. This is meant as a suggestion - something to consider including in reviews - as a way to improve. I think that many reviewers discount the importance of the extras and especially the BTS, so they don't comment on it much.
I don't think you are going to get anywhere with complaining to the companies. I do think that eventually, with enough posts like those in this thread, that more and more reviewers are going to include more information on the extras and BTS.
But what is more important is to be able to find out what to expect before you spend your money. At least I think it would be nice.
The companies can put anything they want in extras and BTS, just like they can put anything they want in the main part of the DVD. It is up to us to buy or avoid those we like or don't like. I'd just like a bit more info to make that decision with.
Btw, for those reading along, if you haven't tried the reviews here, you should. It can become tedious at times, but there is a LOT of info there, that took many hours of cumulative time. For those that review - Thanks!

Like you, I'd like to see more well done blooper DVDs. BTS too.
I wonder why there are not more of them? They've already got the stuff recorded, right? The cost would be in editing, I think. Usually, money talks - so maybe we are a small market, and it just isn't worth making them after all.

Yes. Some DVDs do include some bloopers. Often I get the feeling that they do not discriminate between the terms "blooper" and "behind the scenes" though. The bloopers, if any, are considered to be part of the BTS.
Some reviewers do specifically use the word blooper though. That bit of information is nice.

But, I don't think the performers have anything to do with it, do they? They've signed off on whatever is recorded, in advance. So, that leads me to believe that the people producing the DVDs just don't feel that it is worth it. :(

Steve Holmes dvds are always great with Bonus material. from bts to some audition sex. I cant recall the title but I recall one dvd(BTS) where Tyla Wynn was there I think to do make-up. You see Steve do some interviews of the girls then cut-to Tyla and Manule getting it on :D. then Stefano joins in, it was great BTS material.
Seems like Chico has been the target of quite a bit of negativity recently. One extra feature that isn't mentioned in this thread is one that I'm big on: audio commentary versions. I really wish that more movies put these in, because they're usually hilarious, especially if they have one of the actresses doing them. I'm glad that a lot of the Golden Age movies are hiring the actors who are still in the industry to come in and do these commentaries. Just wish more would. Any comment on this?

The only "special" features that actually deliver anything close to what I would give that particular description, or even worth my time, are these:
1) Extra scenes, that are not simple throwaways (miffed pop-shot here, flubbed white balance there, telephones ringing incessantly in the background...) AND 2) Well edited trailers - quality espresso shots of porn - that ARE NOT the same old tired ones that have been slapped onto every disc the company produces for the past year or two.
I also have an idea for something many would consider an actual special feature: *TARGETED* trailers. What I mean is, if you're renting Blacks On Blondes, have trailers for other interracial titles that you offer on that DVD. Don't waste the opportunity - it's a captive audience! Happily captive, I might add. Emotion plays a big part in consumer purchasing, you know. What's that? Oh, you did get that memo? I'm sorry.[:p)]
