I disagree on the IR part, I see alot of white and black guy who loved IR buy IR movies. Some white guy are looking for the Hallie Berry type of a black woman in porn. That if the current Miss America 2010 did porn because she have the body of a white woman when Vivid or Wicked would pick her up. But if a black girl is light skin because most light skin girls look more like white woman when Vivid would sign her up. How many have I met in person or know for CERTAIN their (insert color or race here)? Perhaps 15. When people apply to join the XRCO their (insert color or race here) is not questioned or hinted at - the members are members due to their knowledge and credentials. For this reason their nominations and votes have no bearing due to their (insert color or race here) since they are voting on ability and personal preference and deed rather than (insert color or race here). Nothing is whitewashed. And our Hall of Fame is not gender-biased.

Have you watched the NBA or go to an NBA game, well I was watching OTL and they had a topic on the lack of white players in the NBA. Well most of the players in the NBA are black and they loved by white people who go to there games. i look up tothis topic and if you ask a black person who is the greatest white player in the NBA they say Larry Bird. i wonder whether or not there is a correlation between black women not winning AVN awards and the lack of cover apperances for the magazine. you can count on one hand (ok-maybe hands are not needed) the number of solo AVN cover apperances they have appeared on (and AVN has been around for a quarter of a century).
Well all I know is that is ridiculous that folks like Misty Stone (who had a sensational year) still have to struggle to get some recognition when other newcomers who have not been in the industry for even 1 year get marketed to hell as the "next big thing". I have heard the same thing from a few folks I know in the industry as Pornlaw, and I tend to agree that its the lack of good marketing and appearing in higher quality product that is hurting black female performers insofar as getting the recognition that is their due. And there is certainly plenty of good, talented black ladies out there in the porn business today; its seems that the real problem is hooking them up with the directors/producers who can and will get behind them to market their talents and to put them in the bigger budget productions.

But you know that black woman in porn won't last long and not enoguht black guys don't buy black porn anymore. Bob you're not paying attention this Thread is saying that Black Female Preformers should win just because they are Black. It's about Jada Fire, Misty Stone and all the other talented Black Female Preformers that don't get enough attention or credit. By the way it is(AVN)Whitewashed.
Porn seems to be one of the last mediums that allow and even encourage racial stereotypes and racism, period. Going forward, I refuse to put "interracial" or any other tag line meant to draw attention to the race of a performer, in the title of any film I write or direct. That said, I fully intend to have diverse casts that feature African American men and women in starring roles where their race will not be mentioned or be a key element in the story. I've already begun doing this in both Sweetheart and Sweet Sinner Films. (Note: I have a g/g series called "Lesbian Beauties" that focuses on different ethnicities with each release -- African American, Latina, Asian, etc. -- and I'm on the fence about whether even this series is ethical. I intended it as a celebration of different races and cultures, but maybe its just another way to distinguish between whites and nonwhites in porn. You tell me.) I realize that it's up to us, the producers, to stop marginalizing everyone who isn't white and resorting to ridiculous movie titles that mock race & racial relations. Adult filmmakers and our audience need to stop being bottom feeders, both intellectually and socially.
In my opinion as much as I love this series it is still the same as the rest of the "niche" racial stuff of the industry, it is still racist. I mean no offense to you, Nica, I love your work but basically I don't see you doing anything different than the rest of the industry. I just checked your last 10 releases on the Sweetheart website and there wasn't ONE black female in any of the movies! Giving different "races" their own lines while not letting them take part in the rest of the releases is racist, period. Which is especially sad because so far I've seen a couple of Sweetheart releases and I definitely liked "Lesbian Beauties: Interracial" the most. Thanks mainly to the magnificent and beautiful black females in it. I'd so love to see those in the "normal" releases of yours. I've read once that girl/boy producers don't include black women in their non-ethnic releases because they are scared people won't buy them because of that. Hi Prophit: Since our movies are released through Canada first (and have to go through Canadian censorship boards) there's generally a 6 month lag between the time I shoot a movie and the time it's released. So it's true that much of what I've been doing has not been released yet, but will be in the coming months. I appreciate your comments and thoughts about how the Lesbian Beauties series is pandering to the same racial stereotypes as most other porn movies, and I'll be giving that serious consideration. It will be quite a stand to tell my partners that I simply refuse to continue with this series, but I'm thinking of doing just that. This is such a complicated topic, and such a hot stove, that it's hard to address all of the many facets of the problem in one post. However, I will say that the problem is very layered and it can be difficult to facilitate change when everyone has their weird ideas set in stone. But we have to start somewhere. There does seem to be a belief that porn movies featuring black performers must be marketed as a "niche" product, sold to a niche audience, and that the average white porn consumer wants to see only white performers. There is pressure to announce in the title and/or on the box-cover that the movie contains black performers or interracial scenes. Performers themselves are afraid of the racism within the industry and the damage they've been told it can do to their careers. A young, white, female performer recently told me, "I can't do interracial this year, because it's a career decision. I have to save that for next year." There's some idea that if you're a new white performer and you do interracial scenes right off the bat, that you won't grow up to be Jenna Jameson. Where these notions come from, I haven't the slightest. But I can vouch for their existence, and their power to influence performers and producers. At any rate, this is a rich topic and I'd be happy to continue discussion and contribute as honestly as I can. Yes. What I'm saying is that I'm not going to put African American performers in "specialty" titles ("interracial" this or "ebony" that), and feature all (or nearly all) white casts for other titles. I'm going to, and have already been, casting more black and brown performers without making race the point of their role and/or a reason to send the film to the "niche" bin. And I totally agree -- fans who've seen Nyomi Banxxx and Misty Stone in my movies never mention the race of these two performers when they write their reviews. They are two of my most popular and requested performers, so what does that say? I think a lot of racism is really just lack of exposure to different types of people -- and in this case, performers. Because once fans see the same girl featured in several films, once they feel they've gotten to "know" her, I rarely see the girl's race mentioned or made issue of.

Please go ahead with the Lesbian Beauties series. There is nothing wrong with an all black, all latin, all asian or all white feature. It can have a particular title with or without reference to ethnicity or just a volume number. Buyers choose DVDs to suit various tastes in female physical beauty. There DVDs that are all blonde, all brunette, all fat, all busty, all MILF, all hairy, all young, all big butt, etc. More important now ist that the DVD gets produced and distributed, Maybe alternate marketing ideas will be apparent in the future. Also, when a black star appears in a DVD that is not all black, it would be great to see an all black scene.
