Will the adult film industry follow, and release only to the expensive-to-replicate (and Sony, which owns Blu-ray, refuses to allow its facilities to be used to produce XXX titles) Blu-ray? Like the early days of DVD, when not many replicators were capable of pressing dual layer discs, porn will get the short end of the stick for a while. But once the format war shakes itself out, which may have happened last week with Warner's announcement (to my dismay), the adult replicators will likely jump in with both feet. [Link] |
