I wasn't referring to your comments about the legal system and it's failures. I was specifically looking at your comments which clearly suggested that she had agency in enabling her attacker to beat her literally within an inch of her life. Sending someone a topless photo is not enabling them to almost beat you to death. Giving someone a key to your house is not enabling them to almost beat you to death. Fucking some other dude behind another dude's back is not enabling them to almost beat you to death. Your comment clearly delineated agency on Christy, and is tantamount to victim blaming, and you should feel bad for it. [Link]

He looks like he's been up for three days playing Keno and drinking, he volunteers that "the girls in the office" charge way too much for his time, and he's never met with the defendant. If the jury takes more than an hour to come back with a verdict, it's going to be because they decide to order in lunch and watch this tape over and over again. Click to expand Yeah, unless he gets some disgustingly short sentence, they won't bother pursuing those charges again. That was always going to be a tough one to prove in court. I know some people I argued with in here think he will get less than 10. OJ got what, 16 years, for robbing back his own memorabilia. And he didn't have an actual criminal record to be used in sentencing decisions. War has a lot more charges here, some are more serious, and he has a record. Yes, OJ's associate had a gun which made it worse. I just think on the surface War is going to get a pretty serious sentence. His attitude in court will encourage the idea of making him an example. I doubt he makes it out of jail anyways. He will likely lose it with someone, get this ass kicked, get knifed ,commit suicide, something a long those lines. They have had him in solitary after his suicide attempt so that is probably why he has survived so far. And Mack should be applauded for seeing this through to the end, and having the resolve to expose this publicly and deal with all the shit War's lawyer put her through. As well as all the non stop slut and victim shaming by all the internet warriors. The world is a better place knowing he won't be able to abuse anyone for a long time, if ever. They were held at gun point while stealing the memorabilia he had previously sold. This has higher sentencing than simple robbery, although the judge did give a harsh sentence. The argument about War fuckhead getting a short sentence was given when it was thought this might turn out to be domestic battery, but he has been found guilty of kidnapping, which by itself is open to a life sentence. According to this site kidnapping involving physical harm or sexual assault is first degree kidnapping, although I have not seen the specific degree of kidnapping spelled out in any of the press reports. With a kidnapping conviction he could get serious time. We'll see. Sentencing Scheduled for June 5 edit, Sorry A_Fan, didn't notice you had already mentioned the gun in the OJ robbery. He might get more, maybe even life. ^ Regarding your comment about OJ, he did not get off because he was a celebrity, he got off for one reason, Johnnie Cochran, maybe the greatest in court defense attorney of all time, and OJ paid him a fortune, up front. And of course an added factor was that the LA prosecuting attorney was a snooty bitch that nobody could like. Johnnie really knew how to play to a jury, he was an expert at it. Johnnie passed way to young, he was a great man. You can say he wasn't great because he got a murderer off, but that was his job. Blame our legal system if you like, which I will not do, but don't blame Johnnie. I blame Marcia Clark, the prosecuting attorney for her ineptness. I was only commenting because everybody thought he was immediately going to get set up for life and since I'm from Las Vegas I've seen how they sentence these type of cases. Plus he's white. The only reason this case got any sort of attention is because of the professions of the two people involved. Take away the words "War Machine" and "porn star" and this case would get exactly the same amount of media play that 1000 other domestic violence cases get; zip, zilch, zero! [Link]

The former mixed-martial arts fighter was convicted of 29 felonies in March stemming from an attack on former porn star and ex-girlfriend Christy Mack and her friend Corey Thomas. At the sentencing hearing today, Clark County District Judge Elissa Cadish heard sentencing testimony from the 36-year-old War Machine, Mack, Mack's mother and Thomas.
