Well, in the page the first two positions of more popuñar actress are Kenna James and Abella Danger. I would add Jenna Sativa, Adriana Chechik, Serena Blair, Vanessa Veracruz, Abigail Mac, Charlotte Stokely, Shyla Jennings, Scarlett Sage and Aidra Fox. In the Milf category, Cherie Deville, Jelena Jensen, India Summer, Reagan Foxx and Serene Siren are also pretty popular.

I am not exactly sure what your project results will actually mean. How often someone was employed by GW/AdultTime is related to the length of their careers & whether the directors wanted to work with them. For instance, I can remember them not using Alex Grey because she wasn't reliable at the time. Fans certainly wanted to see her. Also, ratings on a porn site mean little, views mean a great deal more. Anyways, have fun.
Some good guesses! I would certainly have similar speculations, but we'll see. So far in my work (I'm working from start of the site so I'm running into more earlier girls first) several other names have popped up: Celeste Star, Carter Cruise and Georgia Jones. I'm going with a somewhat arbitrary rule that I've established -- only counting girls with at least 5 scenes -- with one exception (again, emphasis on so far), Celeste has the highest average rating.
Interestingly, it seems your "most popular" models page is different from mine! The top two on my page is Riley Reid and Abbie! After playing around with the sexual preference slider (my default is "lesbian only"), that seems to make no difference.
Thanks for the half-hearted encouragement! 😄
You are probably right that view number is more important, but I wanted ratings because I'm more interested in how g/g enthusiasts (who presumably are the ones doing ratings instead of just viewing) regard the women. But you have a point. Perhaps it's better to do a more comprehensive analysis that includes views? I'll think about it.
Edited by - blackdragontea on 6/20/2024 12:23:02 PM
^But some the actresses showed there aren't from Girlsway. I'm just referring to this site specifically not counting the performers from Lezcuties or other European pages. But I agree that Riley Reid was also another important figure. I completely forgot of her.
Do you have a subscription only to Girlsway without the rest of Adult Time? I signed up for Girlsway a long time ago and just stayed with them as they gradually expanded to become AT, which is what I have now. For a Girlsway only subscription, how much do you pay a year? And Can you show a screencap of what the site shows as your "most popular" models?
Hmm... this project of finding out who the best girl is for Adult Time is turning out to be even more exhausting than I first feared 😅 It will probably take at least a couple of weeks, maybe even a month. In the meantime, why not toss in some of your best guesses?
- Woman with the highest average scene ratings? - Woman with the highest average scene views?
Some exclusions and criteria: - I'm not counting any BTS, solo, interview, European scenes (lezcuties etc.). - I'm also not counting any affiliate (such as Burning Angels) and partner scenes, pandemic remote scenes. - To avoid the problem of recent scenes not accumulating enough views, I also exclude 2024 scenes. - Some minimum scene requirement should exist, though I haven't made up my mind if it should be 5 or 10.
Based on very (emphasis on very) partial results, the woman with the highest rating is surprisingly Rebel Lynn at 96.46 (not expecting that were you? neither did I). And this is not based on a fluke of one or two scenes. She has done 13 scenes. We'll see if that holds up.
I honestly have no clue who has averaged the most views. If you put a gun to my head and force me to take a guess, I'd say... Alina Lopez? This is based on the fact that her True Lesbian scene with Kendra Spade (What Set Us Apart) has 172,774 views, which is almost certainly the most viewed scene. But that's just one scene, so who knows.
Also, here's another question: do you think the g/g "aficionados" and the "unwashed masses" have similar taste? Here's how I think we can approach this question: far more people view a scene than give it a rating (the ratio is probably anywhere from 10:1 to 100:1). Presumably only the true enthusiasts will give the scene a rating. So the question is: do the ratings correlate with view numbers? I can also try the number of comments and see if that correlates with view numbers (presumably even fewer people -- only the really dedicated -- will comment).
If such correlation exists, it implies the "elite" and "popular" tastes are not so different; if there is no correlation, then it implies "elite" tastes really do differ from the average viewer. What do you think?
p.s.: I agree with aclayfan that the number of scenes is not that interesting, as it heavily depends on career longevity and availability. In any event, that is almost certainly going to be Kenna James.
Edited by - blackdragontea on 6/21/2024 6:41:19 PM
^ You raise a bunch of questions that I, for one, have no answers. I will say the Rebel Lynn thing convinces me I am right about evaluating ratings. Think they mean very little. One difference between the casual g/g fan & the fanatic is the casual ones don't whine as much. Threw that in for a laugh. My education on what fans think/want came from the years GW had an active forum. Of course, those were only the fans who took the time to express their opinions. Much like here, desires were all over the place. Anyways, I am getting off topic. Think Lana Rhoades was one of the porn stars the fans at the old GW most wanted to see. Wonder how that will show in your exhausting research project.
Just to be clear, my questions are not just for aclayfans. Everyone is invited to take some guesses. It's just for entertainment purpose.
With respect to scene ratings and Rebel Lynn, well, first, I need to go back and watch some of her scenes (I don't remember any of hers).
Second, a big complicating factor is partner contribution. If a particular actress gets "lucky" and happens to get paired with a string of really popular partners, her score will get artificially inflated. And vice versa, of course. I'm afraid my data analysis skill is not nearly good enough to adjust for such nuances.
For those who are familiar with American baseball, here's an analogy: ratings and views are like batting averages and RBI -- "traditional" statistics that are considered very crude -- whereas modern baseball has long since moved onto much more advanced "sabermetric" stats (like Wins Above Replacement/WAR and others). Gamma/Adult Time has their own algorithms to evaluate the women they cast (in an interview, Porno Dan mentioned this), and I'm sure they have much more sophisticated statistics to play around with.
You are certainly right that casual fans don't whine as much. In fact, they don't say much at all. Which is part of the definition of being casual.
As for Lana Rhodes, I'll certainly take note of the ratings, views, and comments of her scenes. But it's not clear to me how to evaluate how much she is "wanted."
I was, but a while back. I don't remember how much I pay, but these days I think you have to sign up for the entire Adulttime, not only one site like Girlsway.
Are you still subscribed? I'm just curious because earlier you said the most popular stars for you were Kenna James and Abella Danger. But as you can see from the screenshot I posted it's totally different for me. I'm just wondering if the site's list of stars sorted by popularity is different for different customers. That would be really weird.
I see. I'm pretty sure the "most popular" page should be the same to everyone (it doesn't make sense to have a "personally popular" page). Anyway, Adult Time's algorithm for determining "popularity" is completely opaque. When I complete my project, hopefully I will be able to calculate "best girl" using very simple numbers (scene count, rating, and view numbers).
Also, based on the stats that I'm collecting, there should also be some limited ability to analyze things with respect to time and different "channels." For example, which channel do you guys think get more views, Mommy's Girls or Web Young?
Edited by - blackdragontea on 6/23/2024 4:12:30 PM
^Mommy's girl is the site that has more views. In fact, it was the channel that launched Girlsway into success. In fact, they aren't releasing more scenes for Webyoung anymore.
A reasonable hypothesis! We'll see if you are right when I finish my project. Also, I think the reason they stopped Web Young is probably it's just not distinctive enough from the default "Girlsway" channel. Anyway, here are a couple more questions to speculate over.
1. Mommy's Girls vs Moms on Moms: which channel has more views? 2. We Like Girls vs. True Lesbian: which channel has more views? 3. I have voiced my guess that "What Set Us Apart" with Alina Lopez and Kendra Spade is the most viewed scene. Do you agree? Or do you think there are other scenes that has even more views?
Anyway, until I'm done with the project, here is a review of a scene between Kenzie Taylor and Charlie Forde released on 4/15/24. There are a few points that I'm not happy with (more on those later), but overall it's an excellent scene, and has solidified Charlie's position in my mind as one of the best current g/g performers. In every one of her scenes, she has shined.
This is an All Girl Massage scene and Kenzie plays the masseuse here. Normally these scenes have no plot, but here we have Charlie charging in as a pissed off wife, who suspects her husband has been getting too happy with the massage that he has been receiving. It's honestly quite a fun premise to start a scene, but unfortunately this is quickly forgotten later on. Too bad. Anyway, the massage plays out just normally, including some sexy moments where Kenzie squeezes Charlie's nice boobs. Eventually she starts finger fucking Charlie. Here's my biggest gripe about the scene -- Kenzie's fingering skill is excellent, but she has really long nails. It makes me wince just watching it.
Anyway, she fucks Charlie deeply while rubbing her clit -- other than the nails, this looks gorgeous. Later she eats Charlie's pussy and we have excellent closeups to see her licking and sucking on Charlie's clit. Then she goes back to finger fucking, except now she uses three fingers to fuck Charlie deeply.
More beautiful, alternating finger fucking and pussying eating follows. Then Charlie plays with Kenzie's oiled big boobs. Then they do some tribbing, which is often pretty awkward, and here is extra awkward because of the small massage bed.
Then Charlie eats Kenzie's pussy. Her oral is just excellent, and there are some really good camera angles during this part, both from above and closeup.
The scene ends with a 69, which can be hit and miss, but it's definitely a hit here. Both women closely grip each other (probably in fear of falling off the tiny massage bed). Charlie is on top and finger fucks Kenzie, and also sucks on her clit. Meanwhile Kenzie, on the bottom, just inhales Charlie's pussy. Yummy. Anyway, there's a bit more at the end where Charlie squirts, which I don't much care for.
I miss the days where Girlsway used to cross reference other scenes, mini series, and features. Like they had a scene with Reena Sky and Melissa Moore that referenced the upcoming Vampire feature. Then you had a scene with Dana DeArmond and Jelena Jensen that referenced the Vampire feature too. But also to like the mini series Homewrecker with Leah Gotti, Sara Luvv, and Madi Meadows referenced the mini series Sara had with Mercedes Carrera and Jenna Sativa. I felt like those days made the scenes feel special bc they were connected in the world of Girlsway.
Nowadays unless Im missing something there isnt any cross reference whatsoever. I wonder why? I think its just lack of creativity plus with AdultTime just pumping out scene after scene for so many channels its hard to stick with that one thing that make so many other things feel connected. I know Girlfriends Films used to do that too in the past but they no longer do it as well.

^That's extra work for 0 gain. People who pirate will still pirate, dialogue references to other videos that people watched only 6-8 minutes of will not boost new sign-ups, and people that like girlsway-style GG won't quit just because it's not the Adulttime Cinematic Universe (I'd come back if they drooped the skits lol), so there is no financial incentive to put coordination work into crossover dialogue.
I'm imagining Ricky Greenwood and Stella Smut having an hour-long call every week to make sure all their scripts wink at each other lol
Hey I am 46 years old Mom from USA. Can Someone Help me? My insta is showing Adults models reels, Posts and I Can't give my phone to my kids now in this situation. How can I fix it?
^^ I mean you can look at it from that point of view. Im just looking at it from what I used to see to what I dont see anymore. Its something I really was into but it completely stopped. But that is what happens when the company changes hands at the top and even directors. But yeah I think scenes were interesting when they connected. It made you interested in watching the other scenes just to make sense of what you were watching currently. I mean Allie Haze played the therapist in alot of her Girlsway scenes. It started with Elle Alexandra then you had Elle and Angela Sommers. She was the therapist for Mercedes Carrera who was going through her situation with all the step daughters like Sara and Jenna so that was connecting. Oh and Allie was the therapist in the Missing feature. So yeah like again that made Girlsway feel special. So again you can look at it from that point of view you are saying which is fine but Im just keeping it simple from my end and is saying what I used to see I really enjoyed. It brought a special element and now its gone.
I don't remember those cross referencing you are talking about, but amusingly, this reminds me of something else that I'm also interested in but is totally unrelated to porn. I'm referring to supernatural horror stories, specifically those by early 20th century American author HP Lovecraft, who wrote a lot of short stories.
In the beginning, those stories existed separately. Later, his stories began to refer to characters and plot in his other stories. Later still, as he began to attract a bunch of admirers who were also writers, they began to write stories which were not only inspired by Lovecraft's ideas and themes, but also referred to his and each other's stories in their stories. Eventually all their stories formed an interconnected mythology that featured gods, heroes, monsters, settings, and themes in common. This is the "Cthulhu mythos" -- or just "the mythos" -- a "shared fictional universe."
You referred to the proliferation of channels. Currently I'm doing a massive project that is trying to see who the "best girl" is. I'm not even half way done with it yet, but this certainly appears to be true so far, as I'm counting almost 50 of them. Early on in this project, I made a decision to group story-based series into one channel as "Feature" (e.g. Girlcore, Teenage Lesbian, Popular). Perhaps not surprisingly, this "channel" as a whole has the second highest view count. Though to what extent this is attributable to the story and to what extent it's due to the strong cast, I cannot say.
Incidentally, and surprisingly, there is one other tiny (by number of videos) channel that has even more views, based on the data I gathered so far. Can anyone guess what that channel is?
I remember another recurring character that was Celeste Star, who appeared as an android starring in the AI miniseries (one of my favourites from Girlsway) and then had an special appeareance in another miniseries named Transmission, which unfortunately ended in a cliffhanger that was never solved!!!

^The ending of My Sex Therapist Pt 2 with her and Elle Alexandra led into that android series as well. It was the most shoehorned in link ever, her character was randomly an robot the whole time.
^^^ Yeah there are so many cross references back in the day its hard not to see one. The "Going Bonkers" mini series with Kenna, Bree, and Lana is a great example. It referenced Kenna mini series with Angela Sommers. I think one of my favs is with Angela White the doctor. She did a scene with Carter Cruise and then a mini series with Mia Malkova and Georgia Jones. Even referenced her in the Fantasy Factory Wasteland feature.
Can anyone help me with a question: just when did Girlsway begin? I'm currently doing a huge project of trying to document every scene in its history to analyze which model is most the popular (yeah I know I'm insane). I decided to start on 12/31/2023 and go backward. Currently I'm in 2015. Looking ahead, it seems once I get into 2014, things get murky. For example:
- Sex Tape Lesbians: was this part of GW from the very beginning? Or was this some legacy website they got? If so, I'm inclined to just not count those scenes. - All Girl Massage: I know this was an independent site that got folded into GW. Does anyone know when they started in-house production of this channel? - Web Young: it seemed to have started in 2014, but the exact date/scene is not clear, as there were a bunch of solo and/or European scenes in there, which were perhaps content licensed from elsewhere. - Mommy's Girl: the earliest scene listed was on 2014-08-23 with Halle Von, Dakota James, Phoenix Marie, titled "Lessons In Anal." Was this the first scene? Or did they get this from somewhere else?
As a long time lover of all things Lesbian (except for strap-ons, too phallic for my taste!) I've peeked through the GirlsWay Sorority House window a few times and am quite fascinated, to say the least. Unlike most porn fans, I prefer photo sets to videos, as there are no annoying distractions, like stilted, cliche-ridden dialogue spoken by non-native English speakers, zooming in for "gynecologist exam close-ups" much too often. I'm a fan of the Viv Thomas/Suze Randall School among others, and found many of my fav models (Sophie Moon, Zafira, Eve Angel and Jo to name a few) at Sapphic Erotica, which I subscribed to for a time about a dozen years ago.
When cruising the GirlsWay site (great name btw!) I was disappointed that there didn't seem to be photo sets available. Maybe I just missed something, so I'll re-check, but there does seem to be general moving away from pics to video in the porn biz. There's only so many thousands of hours of hot Lesbian Sex a guy can sort through and watch in a lifetime, so it would be nice if there was a GirlsWay photo archive of all those luscious Lesbians. Stills from video shoots, maybe? A few well written short stories by/for the models would be a nice addition as well. Either way, I will definitely be checking in on the GirlsWay Ladies again!
Adult Time/Girlsway definitely has photosets, especially in the olden days. Nowadays, probably due to expenses, they don't do that much any more. What is there is often indistinguishable from screencaps. However, in the past, they did a lot more "glamour" photos, which means carefully staged solo photos. But they tend to fewer staged sex photos (unlike some European studios like 21 Sextury or Met Art), though these do exist. For examples, all women below have photosets on Adult Time/Girlsway.
(Well, one of them is not American but works in the US. Can you name all of them? Bonus question: what do they all have in common?)
If you are interested in those Viv Thomas girls of old, keep in mind that most of them had done a lot of work for 21 Sextury, which is part of the Adult Time network, which means there is a TON of photosets of them available on Adult Time/Girlsway.
(Can you name all of them? Bonus question: what's so miraculous about them?)
p.s.: as I mentioned elsewhere, the best photosets these days are probably from Slayed, both non-sex and sex photos.
(Can you name all of them?)

Sweetheart Video used to have the best photosets, the "glamour" nude ones where the girls pose erotically for the camera. They went away a few years in right around when Dana Vespoli (ugh) took over. You still have stills reenacting whatever the scene is, like if they're having sex on a desk, the photos will show that.
Here's an example of the glamour nudes I'm talking about. Such a shame they ditched them:
Thanks for putting this together BDT, I had fun looking back at each of these great actresses and remembering all the great scenes they've done, or are still doing. So many great and very talented ladies here, some who will never be equalled!
Just saw the new Girlsway scene MAYBE YOU SHOULD GIVE GIRLS A TRY! with Alison Rey, Maya Wolfe and Lilly Bell. It's a terrific threesome scene and definitely worth checking out.
It's so good, I will probably restart my Girlsway membership over the July 4th weekend. The GW scene releases have been of pretty consistent quality over the last several months so perhaps now is the time to rejoin....
I think the reason Girlsway had more photosets in the old days was because Alan X (or Stills by Alan) was directing many of the scenes and also did the photoshoots at the same time. He has a background in shooting models so it's no strange he did this a lot in Girlsway. Same thing could be said of Viv Thomas. He also began in the same area and that's why many of his actresses has so many photos.
About the guesses, I'm doing the Miracle Generation because they're my favorites!!! They are: Peaches, Nesty, Sandra Shine, Monica Sweet or simply Jo, Eve Angel, Vera or Dana Kelly, Sandy Fantasy (I think is her, but I'm not entirely sure) and Sophie Moone. About the question, the thing that made them so miracoulous was that all were only G/G performers!!!
You are welcome! It took me a while to put these together but I had fun doing so. But will you do the quiz? 😄 Can you guess all their names? I think the names for the American women are not that hard. The names for the Viv Thomas women should be easy, but only for those who are familiar with that era. The names for some of the Slayed women, however, are not easy. But do you know what the American women have in common? And what's so miraculous about the Viv Thomas girls?
You are almost certainly right about why the photos declined. I watched some of the behind-the-scene footage from Slayed, and their photoshoots appear so elaborate that I suspect such expense is one of the reasons they had to cut their production rate by half.
But very good guesses on the Viv Thomas girls! You are very close, but not quite completely correct 😁
Thanks for bringing this up! Until you mentioned this, I didn't even think to check and just thought there are no photos. Now after checking, it seems they still have them, just not a lot, but they still do have photosets with all the videos. For example, these are from two recent videos (Gizelle Blanco & Bella Rolland, Katrina Colt & Queenie Sateen).
Ok, I see where I failed. The first blonde is not Nesty. She's actually Stella Stevens. I actually knew who she was, but I misremembered her name. About Sandy Fantasy, I'm pretty sure is her. There is no possible way is another actress.
Nice! That's exactly right. You got all the Viv Thomas names. But the "miracle" I referred to goes even further. It's not just that they are all g/g only performers. It's the fact that at least some of them -- Eve, Jo, and Sophie -- did hetero scenes early in their careers. Then they stopped to become full time lesbian only performers. It's like watching water flowing uphill. No, not just water, but the finest vintage wine flowing uphill. And then turning back into grapes.
If I remember correctly, some of that Miracle Generation of Lesbian Porn Queens were Hungarian, (Zafira & Sophie Moone?). It would be so hot if there was a G/G scene done in their native tongue, so to speak. I've started seeing videos with different language versions advertised, so an interview in Hungarian with subtitles is an idea. "Peaches" and Eve Angel were one & the same, I believe, and I think she went by the name of "Daphne" later at Sapphic Erotica... Eve Angel with "Jo" in one of their first of many delightful photo shoots together.
Sophie Moone with one of her hot Blonde Lesbian Playmates.
And my own little tribute to Queen Zafira to complete the "Mount Rushmore" of the Miracle Generation of 100% Girls Only Lesbian Porn Queens, Eve Angel, Sophie Moone, Zafira and Jo deserve the Mother of all Lesbian Porn Lifetime Achievement Awards Banquet and Sapphic Sister Family Reunion Party.
OK so this is the start of my most ambitious project yet. Originally, I simply wanted to find out which girl was the most popular, measured by audience ratings, in the history of Adult Time/Girlsway (hereafter GW for short). However, as aclayfan suggested, views meant a lot more, so I expanded on the data I collected. Meanwhile, additional questions presented themselves. So this project expanded monstrously. This will be a multi-part (and I do mean multi) presentation that will be posted over time. In this first part, I will address a few basic questions. Unfortunately, this post will be all text. I promise that starting with the next post, there will be graphics.
Questions
I want to explore which scenes, stars, and channels are the most popular in the history of GW.
Data
I will base my conclusion on number of scenes, views, ratings, and comments.
Exclusions
I want to focus on the "core" GW scenes, stars, and regular g/g scenes, therefore the following will be excluded: all European scenes (though I will make a separate analysis later for them), affiliated studios (Burning Angels, Devil's Films, etc.), solo/BTS/interview scenes, pandemic-era remote scenes, and compilation scenes.
Sources of Error
Scene popularity will be judged on views, ratings, and comments. Star popularity will be based on the views, ratings, and comments of the scenes they performed in. There are two sources of error.
- A minor source of error is what I call speed error. Since I'm entering all data manually, it took me about 2 weeks (the second half of June 2024). So all numbers that appear in this project are only accurate (assuming I've made no typo) up to the point when I recorded them. Inevitably these will have increased since then, but there's nothing I can do about that.
- A much larger source of error is what I can accumulation error: a scene that was released in 2018 would have 4 more years to accumulate views/ratings/comments than a scene that was released in 2022.
How I address "accumulation error"
I have excluded all scenes released in 2024 since these don't have the time to accumulate enough views.
But there are strong reasons to suspect this is not enough. In July last year I did a project that recorded the number of views of scenes released from Jan to June of 2023. This time when I looked at the view numbers, they have gone up on average by about 50% over one year.
In other words, a scene released a year ago may have 50% more views purely due to being out longer, not because it's actually better liked by the audience. The further back one goes, the bigger this error gets.
Bottom line: comparing scenes and stars across multiple years is pretty much meaningless with the crude data that I have.
Instead, when I present comparisons, I will focus on comparing scenes and stars within the same year. Scenes released earlier in the year and their stars will still have an advantage over those released later in the year, but this is the best I can do.
Cutoff
In most hetero scenes, the guy is just a penis. For lesbian scenes, the active participation of both women is crucial. An average performer who does a single scene in a year, but is lucky to be partnered with an excellent partner, may have more views and higher rating than a better performer who does 10 scenes, but is burdened with a bunch of mediocre partners. So there should be a minimum scene cutoff to qualify for views/ratings/comments comparison.
There is however a tradeoff. If the cutoff is too high, it excludes too many from competition, and ends up evaluating which women GW cast the most often, instead of whom the audience likes the most.
After experimenting with various numbers, I've settled on using the median number of scenes each year as the cutoff. This means about half (due to rounding typically a bit more) of the women are excluded from the popularity contest. It turns out this number is 2 for all the years, which means when examining popularity, I only look at women who have done at least 3 scenes in that year.
OK this is the end of the first part of this presentation. Again, apologies about the wall of text. Tomorrow's post will begin to present actual results, some in graphic form.

All Inclusive Spread party is just the right amount of hilarity I want in a porn scene because you know you are NEVER going to show up to your local coffee shop with the waitresses offering their pussies as a bonus for just walking in. Comedy in porn isn't always a bad thing provided you can hit that ideal chord between being over the top silly/stupid vs just outrageous enough for it to be both arousing and hysterical at the same time.
I just signed up to GirlsWay and have a mixed review so far, so please take this in the spirit of constructive criticism. First of all, the Ladies are gorgeous and I like how there are videos with actual story lines with actresses that don't fall into the conventional porn starlet beauty standard. The acting leaves much to be desired, but hey, this ain't Cannes or Sundance. Way too many tats & toys for my taste, ditto for face & body piercing. As for access & formatting...
I understand that GirlsWay is under some corporate "Big Porn" umbrella, and business is business etc, but it would be nice to be able to sign up, click "No Thanks" on the special offer, and go straight to cruising the photo & video collections, without having to navigate through a sea of ad-banners of other sites, including hetero sites in all their gynecological glory. Maybe I'm missing something and need to navigate better, but I have to say that so far, I'm less than thrilled at having signed up. Thank you, and again, please take this in the spirit of constructive criticism from a longtime straight guy Lesbian lover.
What scene are you referring to? A search for "All Inclusive Spread" turns up nothing...
Welcome to Girlsway! As a long time member, it feels like I have some responsibility to new members.
- You are certainly right about the acting: all their scenes have some pretense of plot. In the old days there was some real melodramatic, but nowadays mostly it feels just obligatory.
- You probably have realized this already, but if not, if you are only interested in lesbian scenes, select the "lesbian only" preference on the upper left.
- Tattoos and toys are matters of personal taste, but if you don't wish to see those, use the "Categories" selection and you can click on the eye with line across it to block scenes with these (clicking on the filters themselves will select for them). These filters are not perfect since scenes are not always coded accurately, so the results are not necessarily perfect.
- Another thing that I do is select the "Adult Time Originals" option. The reason is that Adult Time licenses an enormous amount of content from other producers, who may use different actresses and produce content of very different styles. So this option gives you a "pure" Girlsway/Adult Time taste. Block that option, and you can get a taste from a wide selection of other producers.
Keep an eye on this thread as I'll post an analysis of Girlsway content from the past 10 years. Hopefully this will prove interesting to you as a new member. Feel free to ask any questions.
^ ^ ^ Thank you for your timely and considered reply, and yes, I'll make sure to click on that Ladies Only button on the top left! One more suggestion would be to do some video shoots in a sort of docu-drama style, rather than the usual trying to make movies/TV series approach. Characters being "interviewed" with all the hanky-panky edited in to give it a more "realistic" feel to it. Thanks again, and yes, Girls do it Best!
Best Girls of Girlsway 2: 10 Years of Rise, Fall, and Rise Again?
This part provides a statistical overview of the data that I have gathered.
Using the exclusion criteria that I explained in the previous post (only core studios sex scenes), I recorded the date, actresses, views, rating, and comments of every scene, 2,366 in total, that was released from Jan 1, 2014 to Dec 31, 2023. Below is a summary of the statistics.
For Rating, the lowest rated scene is 70, and the highest is 99 (curious that none has achieved 100). Though overall the audience is quite generous, as most scores are tightly grouped around 95.
For Comments, they range from just one to 143, but most are between 13 to 35.
For Views, they range from about 7,000 to almost 180,000, but most are between 27,000 and 38,000.
If you look at GW over time, a rollercoaster-like pattern emerges. Here's the number of the scenes released every year.
The first couple of years were clearly the "ramp-up" period. The productivity reached a peak in 2018 at 320 scenes released ... and then the pandemic happened. At the lowest point of 2021, just 172 scenes were released. Things have since recovered somewhat, reaching 201 scenes in 2023, but never coming close to the height of the late 2010s. Here is some very concrete evidence that the coronavirus (among other things) permanently changed porn.
The pattern for Views Per Scene and Comments Per Scene per year are somewhat similar.
There's a ramp-up (especially in comments), a peak for both at 2019, then a pandemic drop, then a slight recovery to a lower level. The end of the recovery period (2023) is quite low, but this is likely due to the effect these scenes having been released only recently, and have not accumulated enough views and comments (see yesterday's post for a more detailed discussion on this "accumulation error"), so I don't believe we are trending down again.
The Rating is a percentage calculation based on Likes and Dislikes (not raw numbers like views or comments), so is perhaps less affected by accumulation. This is reflected in the chart below - a much sharper rise/fall/rise, closely mirroring the scenes released per year pattern.
Overall, there's no question that GW reached a peak in terms of quantity around 2018-19. Was that also a "golden age" in terms of quality/popularity with the audience? This is a plausible argument.
Another implication is that comparing the popularity of stars across time is even more difficult - not only older stars (those who performed mostly in the pre-pandemic era) benefit from a longer time to accumulate views and comments (and perhaps rating) -- there is also a big disruption around 2020-21. Do we even have the same audience anymore? Was there a big exodus of members at the time, and a small influx afterward? I have no answer to that.
This is end of part 2. See you in part 3 tomorrow, where I explore some interesting difference among different viewers of GW.
