I did sound maybe a bit too judgemental there. But it is my honest opinion. Obviously I can't stop peiple masturbating. I would maybe feel more comfortable about it if I knew for sure that she loved what she did. But there is no real way of knowing that for sure. It might be a personal thing. With Amber Rayne I cannot separate the performer from the tragic death of the person. The same will almost certainly be true of August.

Yeah, its definitely a personal thing- i was a fan of Amber Rayne too, not as much as August, but to be honest, when I'm going through my collection and stumble on Amber, i'll still watch her scenes. You can't get inside someones head, all I saw hen watching August's scenes was a girl getting off on what she did, but just because she was smiling doesn't mean she really loved it. Doesn't mean she didn't though either. I think there's a tendency for even porn fans to get a little conservative when a pornstar dies, immediately blaming her career for her death. I'm not just my job, there are many things that impact me every day and the same has to be the case for girls in the industry.
Not for me, I find it very uncomfortable and depresses me thinking how tortured they were to end their lives so prematurely (or have it ended prematurely in the case of certain individuals).
^Although I can see your point of view. I think that you will find that the further you get from the death of these performers. The less it will bother you that they are dead.
When movie stars die, tributes are made on screen including clips from their films; TV stations show their films so people can appreciate their talent and mourn their death (OK, and cash in, but not just that). This includes suicide deaths like Marilyn Monroe. We continue to watch their work. Many Hollywood stars were unhappy with the life they led in that industry but no one suggests it's ghoulish or whatever to watch their films. I don't see why the analogy can't be applied to porn. The career they chose was to have sex on camera and if they were good at it, I would still watch and appreciate their work; and get turned on still, without feeling uncomfortable.
As I said before. An analogy. I still listen to some David Bowie tracks (the ones I liked when he was alive). Elvis and others. We would lose out listening wise if we just restricted our listening to the music of those still alive. The same with porn. If you loved August Ames' work when she was alive. Why would you deprive yourself from watching her scenes now she has sadly passed away?.
For me personally the difference between watching most dead celebs and watching dead female pornstars is that when I'm watching a dead celeb I'm watching a performance as a non participant. When I'm watch a porn movie I'm sometimes fantasizing I'm the one interacting with the girl. I personally would have a tough time doing that with a dead pornstar because it would be in the back of my mind and would distract/bother me. And as I mentioned before that applies to me if I even hear or see that the girl isn't/hadn't enjoyed a scene. When it come to porn anything that's in the back of my mind that distracts me in a negative way. Some people have no problem with that but I do. I absolutely can appreciate their work and continue to do so after their passing but I just have no desire to stroke to it any longer.
^You might if that is what you would be doing but I doubt that you will be thinking about that when you are in the mood to masturbate. That's not the way our brains work. The further we get from a tragedy the easier it is to deal with it and that is even more so when the tragedy has nothing to do with us. Here is small list of dead porn performers from either accidents, overdose or suicide: Anna Malle, Britney Madison, Erica Boyer, Jessica Dee, Julie Robbins, Kim Kataine, Kristy Lynn, Anastasia Blue, Eva Lux, Hollie Woods, Missy, Trinity Loren, Alex Jordan, Megan Leigh, Savannah, Naughtia Childs, Shauna Grant, Haley Paige and I could go on. Most of them have been dead for many years so if you have watched any of them in the last five years then there is a pretty good chance that you were watching a dead porn performer when you did.
^ It's a different thing when you don't know they're dead. It's not them being dead that some people have problems with it's knowing they're dead and that knowledge in their head while watching is what bothers some people.
Draxx wrote "For me personally the difference between watching most dead celebs and watching dead female pornstars is that when I'm watching a dead celeb I'm watching a performance as a non participant. " It is a personal thing for sure, totally subjective. I don't regard myself as a participant if I watch and masturbate to a porn film any more than if I watch and get emotioally involved in a mainstream movie. We're watching after all, we're not there interracting. It's an involvement rather than a participation for me; but it isn't an intellectual thing, it's a gut reaction I guess; and will be different for different people.
I've only just found out Shyla Stylez, Yurizan Beltran and Roxy Nicole passed away on top of the recent death of Olivia Nova. It's extremely sad news. I used to adore Yurizan Beltran pre-boob job. All so young too.
Krysti Lynn is one of my favorites. She was one of the sexiest women of all time. I still watch her scenes. Rosebud is my favorite company and since its heyday was the early 90s many people in the videos including the director have passed. It would only bother me if the death was recent.
Never been too big of an issue for me. Closest it ever came was probably Hunter Bryce; she seemed to do scenes with her true personality as opposed to a porn "persona". Made it slightly weirder to watch her scenes... ....but not impossible, she was hot.
On the subject. I don't think there's anything wrong with watching scenes from deceased actors. We love to watch mainstream movies with Audrey Hepburn, Alan Rickman etc. long after they have passed. Some channels will even do marathons to remember some of the actors' best work.
The reason, I think we halt with porn is because it feels like a more private part of the actor. because we watch them in a sexual context. But in most cases I think mainstream and adult both have in common that they enjoyed what they did and enjoyed knowing others liked to watch their work. So why stop watching it after they're gone?
I can't imagine Alan Rickman saying he never wants the Harry Potter movies or Galaxy Quest watched again, and I'm not sure August Ames or Bill Bailey would offer a different opinion.
It's the same with music. So. as soon as Elvis, Hendrix or Bowie died people would throw they discs away saying " My favourite singer has died so I don't want to listen to their music?". No Treat it as a sort of tribute to their best work. This can cover actors porn or mainstream as well as singers.
So would the same apply if the actor had died of old age when they're 80 years old. Should their content be removed then? Or if they died of cancer. Or are we just automatically a bit more freaked out because it was suicide and alcohol-induced accidents?
As been pointed out...it's all personal preference and subjective. But watching a dead star in a movie or listening to a dead singer or whatever is very different than watching a dead porn performer in my mind. With porn the viewer is having sexual fantasies. Often those fantasies might involve fantasizing having sex with that performer. Some people may not be comfortable having that fantasy when they know that performer is dead. Some people might not have the slightest problem with that. For me personally, knowing their dead is a distraction that makes it uncomfortable. For me it's just one of several things that can make watching scene uncomfortable/distracting. If a girl clearly looks like she's in distress during a scene or if the girl says she was in pain/distress or even hated filming the scene, I have no desire to watch it. Those are the types of things that will bug me and distract me and I have no desire to be distracted with that type of info while watching porn. On the flip side...if the dead performer is male, it doesn't bother me at all. Simply because I'm not fantasizing about the dude.
IMHO it's a bit different. You're not having fantasies about a real person, who is alive and you know, whose personality you admire. You are watching a persona, a fictional character with a stage name that makes some sense only in the porn universe. Since in that universe they don't actually die, saying that you fantasize about a corpse is absurd. Who's Indiana Jones? He's what you see in his THREE movies. Who is August Ames? She's what you see in her scenes. That's all. What about Princess Leia and the golden bikini? You can find hundreads of cosplay and parodies of a sexual nature and nobody has a problem with it, even if Carry Fisher is dead. Becouse you think about Leia, not Carrie.
It's the beauty of fantasising that you can put the context wherever you like - it is NOT jerking off over a corpse unless that is your idea of a sexual fantasy - you fantasise about the character on screen, not her dead body for fuck's sake.
That's how you see it but doesn't mean everyone has the same thinking process. While I see your point I have a different point of view. Yeah, the girls in porn play a role but see them as actresses playing the role and the real person superceeds (sp) the role they're playing for me. I'm there to watch that particular girl and the role they're playing isn't as important. So I'm not watching a scene because it's about a secretary having sex in the office, I'm watching because it's Yuizan Beltran playing the part. And even though she's alive in that scene and doesn't die in it the fact that I know she's no longer around bums me out and I prefer not to be bummed when watching a porn scene. It's not fantasizing about a corpse/dead person but it being in your thoughts that this girl is no longer around while it's supposed to a pleasurable/fun experience watching a scene.
No right or wrong to this. It's about how an individual rationalizes it for themselves. I'm just giving a view from someone who has a problem watching a dead pornstar.
Might sound harsh, but I personally don't give an eff if a person has passed and I am masturbating to their adult videos. I just don't think about that part, same with watching movies with dead actors. I know they are gone, but it doesn't make me sad in the moment of watching their characters on screen.
you don't watch porn to see a maid getting laid with her employer , you don't buy a whole movies with a series of Milf having sex with plumbers
you watch a specific star doing that , it's her you fantasize about not the character she's playing otherwise if it was the character it wouldn't matter who plays it at all if it matters than it's not the character.
You are right, that's why I started my post saying IMHO.
But I don't think you got my point. When I speak of a character I'm not saying Yurizan Beltran plays the role of the maid, the secretary, the nurse etc... I'm saying that a person we don't know is playing the role of Yurizan, the porn star. When she is in character, presenting herself as Yurizan, every word she utters, everything she does, is beneficial to the porn star persona. That in my opinion covers every interview, every social media post, every promotion of every kind. That name is a brand she uses to sell a product, like Apple, or Batman. I believe it would be foolish to assume we know the person who actually dies, unless we are friends or family. All we know is that a porn star role is never going to be performed again, as if she were retired. That doesn't mean you can't feel sad for that person, whoever she might be, but she's not "Yurizan".

Shauna Grant being murdered with a baseball bat was pretty bad, might make it harder to watch her stuff but as I recall most of it wasn't what I liked so much so not an issue. Then there was that Playboy PMOY that got murdered by her ex-husband in an even more brutal fashion, the pics are old but I couldn't forget the way she went, and cannot look at her stuff without a bad feeling.
There was one model I had the hots for maybe 10-12 years ago who had her own website with regular camshows, AshleysCandy I think was the name. Hard to watch her stuff since she was tragically hit by a truck trying to cross a road and they posted a pic of her bag of stuff from the store lying scattered in the road. She was such a sweetheart and left a small child. Maybe now that it's been a while I could watch it again though.
I remember Megan Leigh, was a big fan of hers, and Savannah too. Both suicides, so sad.
I work in the adult business and the rate of OD deaths is shocking. I've lost several good friends and many acquaintances that way.
But in the end, if I were a pornstar, I'd want people to remember me and take pleasure from my work. As long as there's no fantasy of the death itself, etc., I see nothing wrong with at all. Better we don't forget them...
^ I had a problem watching a scene that featured Brian Surewood, who we know accidentally killed a family in a hit and run and got jailed for it. I mean it wouldn't feel right to watch a scene where a family were killed which he was the cause of.
I can't speak for anybody else but I actually watch porn to see a maid get fucked by her employer because that's the kind of porn that I first watched and the one that I wish was still being made but is beyond rare in todays porn industry. Now that doesn't mean that I don't know who the performer is but my enjoyment of the scene is directly proportional to how good she is in her role. Most porn producers today make gonzo porn where it's the same female performer working with the same male performer doing about the same thing.
Everybody plays his own character a face for everybody else that doesn't actually match his own real feeling , like in funerals where there are people who fake mourning and people who mourns faking all is well.
Yurizan the performers who plays a role performing is a circular reasoning it is part of the job as much as the scene itself
would anybody jerk off at Marylin Monroe's tomb saying he's not stroking his dick on Norma Jean the sucidal but over the Happy portrayal of herself she had while posing naked? I don't think so
it's the same thing

I don't have a problem with watching scenes after the performer has departed. I look at it the same way I do as I listen to Robin Williams, watch Heath Ledger, etc. If a performance is good, I'll keep it. If not, I'll get rid of it.
Just watched a scene with Jessica Jaymes doing a foursome and realised I read that she died a month ago. Shame really because I hadn't discovered her when she was around, as she was incredible.
It's even more sad when you watch interviews of girls answering questions about where they see themselves after porn. Most of them want to be happily married, have kids, finish school, pursue a normal occupation and lead a normal life. Those under 25 who were taken away before their time in the industry ended had their whole life ahead of them robbed. In the cases where girls who were bullied into taking their own life, such as August Ames, it's even more tragic because doing porn was just supposed to be a temporary gig to make money and move on. Nobody gets into the industry expecting to die before they leave.
It depends on the perfomer's fate. If it was suicide due to the pressure related to the industry, then yes, it is a problem watching them. But if it was accidental, like Jessica Jaymes's was, then it's not really a problem.
^Let me preface that I debated posting about Jessica because that may affect your enjoyment of her work but frankly if you Google her name than you will discover the info within the first hits. The coroner may not have deemed her death suicidal this time but it doesn't change the fact that Jessica still suffered from years of chronic alcohol abuse and depression and had attempted suicide in the past.
No doubt Heath Ledger's performance in Batman was great, but his tragic death made it harder for me to enjoy the movie. I don't have the same reaction to watching Marilyn Monroe, but I think time makes it easier.
Trinity Loren first got my attention during a live performance. The fact that we actually interacted, and she then wanted her boyfriend to notice me allowed me to fantasize that she was just a real-life exhibitionist who had found her calling. Her suicide shattered that fantasy, and I still can't get wood to her.
I might be remembering wrong but wasn't Trinity Loren one of the pornstars that supposedly faked her death? I know Kiki Daire did it but I think I remember Trinity did it too.
EDIT!!! I was wrong. It's Lisa Delalew (or however you spell her last name) pornstar from the 70s or 80s. Not Trinity.
