How long have you been the internet's girlfriend? Have you considered marriage? A Dana-Internet wedding would be one of two social events of the decade. The other event is the honeymoon.
Listening now and liking it. I listen to a lot of podcasts, thanks for the heads up. Your great on it. I also really liked your WTF with Marc Maron episode from a while back. Oh and by the way I'm listening in Florida LOL Edited by - phatmike on 5/4/2010 7:23:51 AM
You must be joking. You have played in so many scenes. When everyone hates you it is strange that you still get to work so much in the porn industry. Your fans love you!
again. fans are not the people who hire me or have to perform with me. porn has really fucked a lot of people up, including me. im constantly being fucked over no matter how professional, talented, punctual, nice, sober or well groomed i am. this business fulfills nothing in my life and has become soul sucking.
I can't believe that each and every one working in the industry thinks that about you. Maybe who told you that got up on the wrong side of his bed, and I can't believe you have no real frends around you. Trip

Dana, I think you are the cream of the crop. The industry is obviously jealous of your beauty, femininity, and raw hardcore talents. If you need time to get your soul back, by all means, take a break. You are too amazing to retire for good. Seeing you in those black sheer stockings as you put your feet up on Mr. Marcus' legs, and the creamy RCA scene that ensued was the best 10 seconds of porn I've seen in years. Complements of "Phat Ass White Booty 4". ......Now I'm absolutely addicted to you.
In that case, you should definitely do what you think is best for you. I've never been one to say a girl should keep doing this if she just isn't happy. It sucks from the viewpoint of a fan who likes you but at the same time, if you're not happy, it's not worth it. I'm sorry it hasn't been a good time for you and I hope whatever you do after this you'll find something that makes you happy.
nobody who is fucking on camera for a living should have to struggle to get by. it is apparent to me that those who do not favor me or flat out dislike me are keeping me from what i consider being successful in this business. dont get me wrong. i love performing. im really fucking good at what i do. what i am not given the opportunity to even come close to meeting my potential. it saddens me that my mere expression of humanity is what ultimately will ruin me. being a real person is not conducive to pornography. and i feel that is very unfortunate. when i started i hoped to change the perception of performers, showing that you can be smart and funny and filthy in have a good head on your shoulders. but after years of seeing this industry consistently reward the fakes, the ill-behaved, the inexperienced and the most exploitable (read:children) women... i see now that my efforts were for absolutely nothing. im struggling with this. im sad. and that is real.
Dana, you're one of my absolute fav's in the biz, and from my perspective, have always come across as witty and engaging. It goes without saying that you should do whatever feels best for you. Best wishes on whatever you decide. Edited by - negrine on 5/9/2010 12:25:00 AM
well thanks. again, i love my fans. i wish my fans could choose how often i worked and who i got to work with... but i can wish in one hand and... well, you know how the saying goes.

wow it's a real shame your getting the treatment you've been getting...ive met u a few times at past aee's and your one of the few stars who always was awesome and friendly...and also incredibly gorgeous
I'm sorry Dana. I enjoy your work and your posting here, but if it's something you feel you have to do, then do what's best for you. I hope everything improves for you, but I totally understand if you wanna leave the business. If you do, you'll definitely be missed by many, myself included.

So you're going to quit porn because you're under-appreciated, you're surrounded by backstabbers and mediocre minds, and it's not what you know, it's who you know? Guess what: in the rest of the world, you're under-appreciated, you're surrounded by backstabbers and mediocre minds, and it's not what you know, it's who you know -- and the pay is $12.50/hr., and you have to work on holidays and your birthday. And it sucks, and in the next quarter, your position is outsourced to India. If I were you, and I actually enjoyed what I was doing for a living -- do you know how rare that is? -- there's no way I'd voluntarily quit, no matter how much extraneous bullshit I had to put up with. They'd have to pry the stripper heels off of my cold dead feet before I'd give up.

Might be good to find out how Sharon Mitchell, Nina Hartley, et al. had such long careers while dealing with all the bullshit as well. With 215 movies listed at IAFD there are obviously some that like you and want you to work.
Thats straight bullshit that someone told you that. I swear it seems porn biz is like high school half the time when i hear stories like this. ----Dread----
what can i say? i must wear my heart on my sleeve because people instinctively know this is the thing that hurts me the most to hear. i dont like the idea of being disliked or the idea of disliking others myself. i know im not the most popular porn star, or the prettiest, or the youngest, or the most extraordinarily talented person in the business. but, god dammit, i try. and it sucks when you try to do a good job and people still put you down.
thank you all for your kind words, it has really lifted my spirits. its nice to know that some people on he inter it for good instead of a cowardly way to anonymously tear people down. i love you guys.
I think you're much more talented and lovely than you give yourself credit for. You have an uncanny awareness of what looks good. You know how to pose without calling attention to the fact that you're posing. That's a talent that few people have in the porn biz, I think. It doesn't sound like much but I've been staring at porn for half my life and it's rare that I see any real intelligence behind a pose or a performance. I'm always looking for something that gets inside my head and you tend to do that. So if you were trying to break some conventions, I think you succeeded. At this point, almost anything that breaks the mold in porn is good. If the guy who wants to make flat, uninspired, mechanical, lifeless porn with a fisheye lens finds you difficult to work with, that probably means you're doing something right.
Dana just forget about the porn and focus on providing. There are ways to do so discreetly. I don't know how they work but surely you know someone who knows how it works. The only calls you will get are from people who want Dana Dearmond and it will be less demanding. If your personal kicks come from exhibitionism, kink and performance suggest the clients film it. That alone will set you apart. You know your time in this business is time limited but it's no less-so than going outside the lines so to speak.

First off, that Harri Patel hit it right on the head. No matter what industry you get into, you will face these backstabbers and lack of respect. Hell, one does not have to go outside of their own family to find that type of behavior! Second, you might need to take a break to re-charge your batteries, everybody gets run down. Third, everybody is struggling right now. But as you can see, the economy is starting to BOOM. In my city, everybody is starting to hire again, money is starting to quickly flow! Finally, Im not necessarily a fan of yours. But i do follow you, and listen to what you have to say. As i find that your voice is one of the few SERIOUS voices in porn. You're more than just a performer, you're like Lexington Steele, a performer who is bigger (no pun intended) than just sex scenes. Most importantly, you're a fan favorite, that has an exploding twitter population. One that i just joined a few minutes ago. That twitter population can be your base for a new website, as each one of those 16,000 followers are possible subscribers, like myself. End of the year, you will have 40,000 x $30.00, and you can see the rest. And just remember Dana, life can actually be much worse outside of porn, as hard as you may find that to believe. Keep your head up, and keep on keeping on. After all, you are a Ft.Bragg army brat. Nothing but the strongest and toughest in the nation comes out of Bragg. Nuthin but the RDF... :) Hugs and kisses,
i directed two movies for vivid alt but sadly i dont think they are around anymore. and i believe i was also credited for the "dana dearmond's porn star vacation in london" which was really fun. i would like to direct but i dont think companies really have money to put behind individual projects like what ive done in the past. i think if i would have to my own money into it i would be better off doing a website or web series and distribute it vod i guess its food for thought. thanks for the question.
