I don't get it, what are you exactly complaining about? You say you are still getting enough work, after being in the industry for so long...I would think that's enough to be happy about. Same can not be said about most of the girls in the industry who have been around for more then 5 years even, and have to escort and dance non stop just to make a good living. Ok so you want Awards, fair enough. However, I can think of many girls who deserve and have deserved lots of Major Awards but never got them because certain other girls are pushed by big studios because of their massive demand at the time and the movies in the pipeline. Someone like Bobbi Starr's name comes to mind, who has constantly been overlooked even though she has deserved to get the Performer Of the Year Award at the AVN for the last couple of years...at least once. I am talking about girls far prettier and with much nicer and hotter bodies. I hope you don't take it personally, I am not saying you aren't pretty or don't have a nice body....I am just stating the obvious. The truth of the matter is, it's not just about who is the best performer, but the whole package....DEMAND, star quality to SELL Dvds and movies online, and age...all matter big time, for studios to push girls. It's called a business for a reason. Studios are Companies who make an investment in girls, and they are well within their right to look at who will make them the most money if they are to invest big time in them. That's how it works in the Corporate Marketing World, that's how it works in Hollywood....so why not the porn industry? An example of that, is studios pushing for a Natalie Portman win at the Oscars, over far seasoned and WAY better Actresses like even the Legendary Meryl Streep. Now Portman an Actress isn't good enough to lace Streep's boots...BUT, as a whole package, she offers a huge DEMAND, looks, young age and Star power to sell movies just with her name and looks alone. Everything else is a bonus. That's the reality. Now you'll never see Meryl Streep going around moaning and complaining about not winning those Awards and loosing out to younger, pretty girls. That's because she gets it, and people still like her enough to still watch her movies enough so that she still gets work in Hollywood. If she was going around complaining and moaning, then people would be turned off and stop caring for her, as has happened to a lot of Hollywood people. I hope you get the point. Now if you think you have much more demand, have better looks and star power, then someone like a Tori Black, or Asa Akira at the moment, or a couple of new girls who are very popular and great performers like Gracie Glam, Chanel Preston or Jynx Maze and deserve more Awards then them....then you are far from reality. Again, I am in no way trying to put you down, and I appreciate your dedication and hard work. I am just saying it like it is without any ass kissing.
wow, if you arent trying to put me down now, i'm afraid what you'd say if you actually were. that was, IMHO, pretty mean spirited. i am open to having dialogue with board members and discuss things with fans. but point blank telling me that im not in higher demand because im not as pretty as somebody else is simply your opinion. thanks for the input.

I see now I misread what Dana said. She wasn't talking about a lack of work. My bad. I still in theory stand by what I said, because veteran stars still miss out on work so that girls that will only do a handful of scenes can be fucked by a director that casts himself. This largely applies to the gonzo side of things and internet sites. I could be wrong but aren't there contract directors for features type companies that also often casts themselves? My main point is producers act on their impulses rather than a business model of what their consumers actually want. If another poster wants to call that marketing so be it. I respectfully disagree. I again see no out cry for a revolving door of talent. I'm extremly glad to have Tori Black, Asa Akira, and Gracie Glam around, but they hardly fit the mold of revolving door talent. Many porn companies are shoving new girls down our throats so their directors can hit some strange. It's a scientific fact. Like men like bacon and talking about pussy. Dana -- I have been a big admirer of yours since I first saw you totally dominate Leah Livingston in one of the early "Imperfect Angels" episodes for GFF. That was the first time I'd seen you perform and I was blown away. You dominate every scene you are in (my opinion anyway). Your name on a box cover means that I'm going to seriously consider a purchase or rental. I know if you're in a scene I'm going to get my money's worth. You always give 100 per cent to the scene. I buy porn because I think the sex scenes will be hot and will get my blood flowing. I don't buy porn because the performer has won an award or was nominated for an award. For me Dana is a proven performer that can play a specific part and will give it her 110% most of the time. I say most of the time because there are times where it's more like 150%. I'm sorry that it bothers you to have never won an award but as a fan you have already won the only award I care about. Amazing Performer who has one hell of a sense of humour.

^ well I may not follow Dana's Twitter (I hate twitter in general), but I look at this thread every chance I get. It sucks that she isn't nearly as recognised as she should be, and whoever said it being because she isn't as pretty is either blind or has rediculously high standards. She's one of my all time favorite performers and is consistantly getting better. If my dream of becoming a porn director/producer ever comes to fruition; I've always had this idea to make an entire movie based around Dana both as herself and as a fictional charactor. I wanted to have the opening scenes shot along the Santa Monica pier, as well as interior locations everywhere from the mansions we see in every other movie, to cheapo motel rooms. I would have just about every type of scene she does included on a 2 disc, 4 hour run time with interludes between scenes. Not unlike Mason's movies to be fair, but mine would be more stylised and I've had that idea long before I ever saw one of Mason's flicks. Why nobody else has already done this kind of movie is crazy to me. It would be a hit.

I think that was part of Dana's issue. She is a very popular performer but she is not recognized for it by the industry at least in regards to awards. I believe that the name of Dana helps sell DVDs. I can't say the same for all the performers that get nominated/win awards.

^ yeah that's true but PTL has that trademark "praying" pose that is usually pretty highlighted, Katie St. Ives did it on PTL#5 and Kristina Rose on PTL#4. That's what I was referring to specifically. Also "Teenage Spermaholics 7" most recently only had Gracie Glam on the cover.
