Wanting to try a Netflix-style DVD rental. Problem is, I don't want any suspicious mailers or any porn related junk mail arriving at my house. What companies keep it completely discrete? Topic Moved by - Jonny Jay on Jan 6 2012
Hi i use Fyretv and Aebn from time to time and haven't had any mailers/or any porn related junk mail. The bank statements are discreet (e.g metabilling06373788 it shows on statement) and just get e-mails about upcoming films/offers etc.
I've used BushDVD for longer than I care to admit. Never ever a piece of porn junk mail. The mailers come with a return address of something like CD Audio Books Inc. Yeah, if you google that with quotes around it, it will come up with the BushDVD FAQ page right away. Still, I've joked with my mailman lady that oh, I can't wait to find out what that Alex Cross character is gonna do next!! I'm just kidding. I hardly talk to them. Once I got a "oh you" mumble when I went to the mailbox and the mailman guy was there. You didn't ask about the credit card statement, but it shows No Cash Inc. which is also easily Google-able back to BushDVD. Anyhow, key point, never a piece of porn junk mail. I've also used XRentDVD - no problems there either. I don't remember what the mailers looked like or what the return address showed. Both of those are on the west coast, southern California. One big difference between the two is that BushDVD packs 2 DVDs into one rental mailer. And Adult DVD Empire is on the east coast. They are huge. Some talk on an earlier topic: Best dvd rental site. More talk from some of the same dudes: Online adult DVD rental recommendations. ** Edited. I wrote nudes on the last line. I meant dudes. What was I thinking!! HeyNow gave good advice. BushDVD is the most reliable, no hassle service and their website is clean to navigate. I've been using them since Jan 2005. They do ship two DVDs in a single mailing envelope. I also noticed that their DVDs are thicker than most companies. In my years of using them I recall only one time ever getting a cracked DVD from them. They also ship 6 days a week and the only company that is open on Saturday that I know of. Also, they have 2 day rapid returns which you manually use if you wish to. SugarDVD is equally good but they do list a lot of movies as "checked out" that never become available for rental. They ship on both coasts so sometimes I get a DVD delivered the day after it ships, how that happens I don't know. Images of box covers are the best quality and they include multiple images of films on many titles. Their website is the most fun to use. They bill by the name Oddesse. XRentDVD is also good and has many rental options including budget plans but that does not allow you to rent new releases on budget plans. They are slightly more expensive than the others. Their search engine is by far the best of any company to track down titles but I don't care for their website, images on box covers are very grainy. They bill by the name 24/7 Internet. AdultDVDEmpire is a good place to buy but I would not rent from them. They have a large selection but many titles never become available for rental. I had about 20 titles in my queue that remain from a couple years ago and not a single one became available for rental. The above companies do not send out junk mail, share your name with other companies and use discrete mailers. GoFlix is a company you want to avoid if being discrete is a priority. The last time I rented from them their envelopes were anything but discrete, with the words "pleasure entertainment" or something to that effect on their envelopes. And the company Excalibur you want to avoid at all cost. I can elaborate on that but only if someone requests it.
I was searching google about porn dvd rentals and this forum came up. What is the issue with excaliburfilms? I was thinking either xrent or excaliburfilms since I live in los angeles. Mike

Hi Mike, Glad you found us. I'll recommend three of our long-term sponsors, Adult DVD Empire, Bush DVD and Sugar DVD. They all support the free exchange of information on sites like ours. They excel at customer service. Links to stores we work with are on our Where to Shop page. I won't comment on stores we don't work with but if you use our search function you will see reports on them.

Save yourself the headache and do not deal with them. I'm doing you a big favor. I signed up under a membership program and at first there was no problem. After about a month the problems began. One film I had returned was not received by them. I notified them that I had returned it and they did nothing about it. I notified them again and then they had me sign an affidavit, yes an AFFIDAVIT that I had returned the movie to them. I had to mail the signed affidavit back to them. Then they charged my credit card individual charges for insurance each time they sent out an envelope. It gets worse..... at one point I had nearly 70 movies in my rental queue and they did not mail me a single title for over three weeks. I contacted them again, and told them since they are not sending me any DVDs, please cancel my membership and refund my money. The next day, they send me out DVDs. At that point I wanted no part of them and they would not even cancel my membership when I told them to do so and refund my money. Imagine, you paid the monthly membership and they send you nothing for over three weeks despite having over 70 DVD titles in your rental queue. Now, would you be angry with them? Having to sign an affidavit for a DVD lost by the Postal service is annoying enough, getting charged insurance each time a mailer is sent to me is another irritant, but them deliberately holding DVDs after I paid for my membership was the last straw.
Very similar to my experience. Sadly. Worst part is they are the ONLY ONES who have a lot of classic titles. They of course own the rights and burn their own DVDs. Just wish they weren't the only game in town for many of my old favorites.

I just started renting with ExcaliburFilms.com based on the advice that they have hard to find classics. Their mailers are pretty discreet and the billing is EF Distributors. The return mailer is equally discreet, so no problem leaving it in my apartment collection box. Hope this helps oigo88. Since I like older movies, their staff turned me on to a list of In Stock Rentals, http://www.excaliburfilms.com/DVD/rentalDVDs.htm. They claim it's new and always has an average of 32k titles updated daily. Using it with no problems. Seems to be a better service than what it must have been before. The plans are flexible, where you can rent by paying per individual disc for as low as $1.99 each or signup for monthly plans that give you more than most of those companies listed below. You can checkout unlimited discs with higher plans, 9 to 15. The other nice benefit I've found... if you rent a movie and like it so much you want to buy it, you can purchase it then and there at a discounted price. You don't have to return it. Just notify them online or by phone.

How ignorant for you to say that I work for a company just because I like them. I like Girlfriends Films... am I a lesbian performer or do I work there? I like Triangle Films and Evil Angel... do I work there? I like Bree Olson movies... does that mean I am a DVD? This is a nice forum for fans, of which I am a new one. Because I differ in opinion from you on things, doesn't mean you have to resort to castigating or tarnishing me. I know you've been around for awhile, but don't harbor a grudge against Excalibur because of your resentment for a man that is no longer there and hasn't been for some time. I do know a lot about this industry and their company, especially since they were one of the first distributors. I've been a fan of porn for quite a long time and know and have seen a lot about what's good and bad in the industry. I hope that you don't treat everyone this way. If you are sharing your experiences, likes and dislikes, favorite movies, stars, etc great. But if you are the talk police and I must agree with you in order to give my opinion, which would then really be just your opinion, then do what you must. Personally, I'd rather see other peoples' opinions about stuff like what porn parody they would like to see made versus this type of adult talk, but it is up to you.
