Also do any of you folks have a recommendation for thermal paste/heat sink grease. I think it is about time to change my Pentium heat sink/fan assembly. I have only done this once before and it was with a much older computer. The problem is the heat sink/fan are incredibly dusty. So dusty I can't even clean it with compressed canned air. Thank you. But they don't come with the grease/paste and I want to make sure I install it proper;y. I have had the old fan for over a year and it is time for a new one I think. As a related note. I am considering water cooling but have heard nothing but horror stories related to problems with leaking. I am sure I could seal the thing up so leaking would be impossible but is it even worth considering? My computer has tons of fans and it does not run hot (it's next to an air conditioner). I just thought the water cooling would be a neat project. The only problem with my research is that most kits do not come with enough water blocks (I have 2 graphics cards). I think I will go with the new fan and the arctic silver, I did some research and it seems like everybody who tries it likes it. The water cooling thing was just me thinking aloud. |
