The last couple of days or so when I have clicked onto a thread the postings come up scooted way over to the right side of my monitor. I'm talking a good 2.5 to 3 inches to the right. It doesn't do it on the post reply screen, main forum pages, or any links, just on the actual thread itself.

Which browser are you using so I can test it?
I made some CSS changes recently to do source-ordering of content that may have problems with IE 5.5.

Get Firefox and don't look back. It has problems sometimes as well but you might as well switch while you have a reason to.

I tried writing to you at the address associated with your forum profile and it bounced as undeliverable.
It works fine with IE 6 and IE 7. The only browser that I know of that exhibits this problem is IE5.5. 0.6% of our visits are with this browser. (More people use Konqueror on Linux than IE5.5 these days so we don't design around it's quirks any longer.)

Don't know if it's pertinent, but I tried to create a bullet list in a post several days ago and it didn't work. Still doesn't. Then, again, I could have screwed up the code (but I don't see a mistake).

Honestly, if your browser is that old, this isn't the only place you're going to run into problems with it. Updating it is easy enough, no?

That is also weird. I have at least two new e-mails that came in last night that I haven't read yet so I know my e-mail isn't down.
This just started doing this last week. I haven't updated my browser in at least two months. If my browser was causing this why hasn't it occured earlier?

Because the changes to the forum that caused this issue in IE were made on 7/22. Changes are made to the site on a constant basis.
The message was undeliverable because your inbox was full according to your ISP's NDR.

Drew I just dumped a whole bunch of e-mail so everything should be good now. BTW I downloaded Firefox and the problem went away. Not sure yet whether I like better than IE overall. The spell check is a good feature but I really hate the print font. It reminds me of my high school typing class.

IE 7 has a nice font rendering engine and it's far more compatible with web standards than IE5.5.

^^You'll come to really love the spell checker (unless your spelling is really good already (and mine isn't))
Check out the plug ins. I think you'll see some you really like.
Here's one I can't live without for starters.

BTW, did you try changing the font in the options to see if there wasn't something you like better? I'm switching back and forth between FF and IE7 and not seeing any difference.

My PC is very old, and it only just meets the absolute minimum requirements for Firefox, but I thought I would give it a go. Ironically, using Firefox, the ONLY site I am having trouble with is… ADT! It won’t load at all, let alone display correctly!
Oh well, guess I‘ll have to wait until I get my new PC to enjoy ADT in its full glory! (added incentive to finally get a new one - long overdue, I’m afraid!).

For some reason I don't get the big green "go back" arrow in the upper left hand corner here with Firefox. I get it on other sites and I get it here with IE. Still can't decide which one I like better. I tried changing the font in the options and that is not working either.

Well, that's odd. I saw no difference at all in the font between IE7 and FF.....unless you mean the icons at the top. If that's the case, you get used to it. I thought it was goofy looking to. Now I just ignore it.
OK...I just re read this and realized what you meant. Maybe you should reinstall Firefox. I think I've had issues with it like the ones you're describing before. Which version of FF did you download? Firefox seemed to have some problems in the last couple of versions but the version I have now (2.0.5) seems fine.

Are you browsing ADT through a proxy service or something along those lines?

This site looks fine on my iPhone (Safari browser), but on my Blackberry browser (MS Pocket IE emulation) and my Windows Mobile (Pocket IE) browsers, it _USED_ to look fine, now shoves all the threads to the right of the screen. So no more posting from my phone.

Hmm, this is the first time I have used IE on here in the last three or four days and now every thread lines up fine. Except for the Teagan Pressley one in Star Crossed, it is still about three inches too far to the right.

The only threads that still do this are the ones with a ton of responses. The two I have ran into are the previously mentioned Teagan Pressley thread and the what was the last non-porn film you watched thread in the Polls forum. Everything else has been fine.

I'm not having any choice right now. I have been getting error messages whenever I try to log onto the forum using Firefox tonight. With IE I still get some goofy thread alignments but it at least lets me in.
p.s. This didn't happen until after I loaded Flash so I could see the video links here with Firefox.

Drew, there may still be a problem with the (list)bullets(/list) function and Firefox. With both IS6 and IE7, the bulleted items are single-spaced; whereas with Firefox, they are double-spaced here in the forum (but not on other sites).
For example, my post in the "Best choice of computor combined with TV" thread.

It's all CSS stuff. FireFox and IE don't render margins and padding the same in UL elements.

Drew, I understand that IE6/7 and Firefox render differently (and I see differences from site to site); however, I don't understand why bulleted, numbered or alpha'd lists appear double-spaced only here in the ADT forum with Firefox and not with IE6/7 and NOT in other forums with Firefox. The ADT forum seems to be the only place where I encounter the double-spacing when using Firefox (at least, that I've discovered thus far).

Because it's OUR CSS tags on those elements that are causing the issue. Some might consider it a bug, I prefer to think of it a feature. It's not related to double/single spacing. It's because we apply an inline style on the list type tags in the forum code.
I may look into it some day but it's real low priority.

Meanwhile more and more of the threads are doing the three inch jump to the right when I use IE and I encounter an error message whenever I try to log on with Firefox. The only way I have got around this has been to log in with IE then back out of IE without logging off and then go to Firefox.

There were 1874 posts in that thread. The number of posts per page is user-selectable. I don't know what the default number was back then; probably something like 20 or 25.
