Can't protect what you can't control and i assume we all want what's best for the ones we love. Everyone plays their own role in this life. If you don't have the money and power to protect a loved one, i would advise that you love no one. Some do it for the money, some do it because they highly crave sex, some are forced into it. The next question is, Do Women who do Porn Value Themselves ? Forget about society not Valuing and accepting you, how do you feel about yourself. And does the money cover up or numb the way you truly feel about yourself ? I personally don't believe that women that do sex work should be treated with disrespect.

Does working in porn devalue women ? Its inherantly difficult to quantify what people are actually worth (value) but in an effort to answer the OPs question imagine a hypothetical auction selling women. I rekon the exact same woman would sell for far more as an established porn star than just as Mrs Average Nonentity. Indeed pornstars charge much higher rates for sexual services just because they are now pornstars ; Conclusion going into porn increases their value.

A while back the question of actual money came up as a male PS said he made $5K per shoot and the women made double. Rob FTV wrote a great reply and after I checked it out it was much more credible. I think when the girl I was referring to realized that in addition to porn she might have to do "other" things it wasn't so glamorous. It's one thing when both people are getting paid as actors, and something else when it boils down to "the oldest profession." Rob FTV wrote: "Reality check for all you guys: Average b/g pays $800-1000, 1200 for anal. Girls are extremely lucky if they make more than $1400 for a shoot. Same goes for girls like Kennedy. Then take 10-20% out of their check for the agent, $100+ to stay at a model house, pay the driver, travel etc... After taxes, the girl is lucky to make $600 off a scene. If the girls are new, the large chunk of money they get right away ends up being taken by an ex-boyfriend, or via peer pressure of other models/directors around her to spend on going out, drugs, party, and shopping. Most girls in the industry go in, generate $10k-20k in a month, but only end up with half of that or less, then go broke, then get hit by the IRS a year or two later, go on a payment plan to pay uncle sam back since they have no money left. Then again, the real money is in escorting or sugar daddies after they have been on the scene. Especially in LA, there are quite a few high rollers who pay well for that stuff. And if a girl is really popular in the escorting thing, she ends up in Dubai for a week session with Prince **** and ends up coming home with $30k and expensive purses/heels."
That's fine and completely understandable. I just think it might do you some good to reconsider your thoughts on this. Just saying. I think we as fans of porn should be the last people stigmatizing its stars, especially its female stars which are prone to a lot of judgment and resentment from society at large.
That is not the question. The question is how they react then. It seems from your post that you would like the parents then to condemn their daughters or disown them or whatever... or am I wrong about how you come across?

If this was twenty years ago or more, before the age of social media we wouldn't even be having this discussion; because I don't think anyone would really care. Porn stars (adult entertainers) fall into the category of sex workers. From what I've read this "adult" industry is highly regulated, even to perform as a "dancer" in many states a license is required with a very strict rules and laws. None the less, the potential for trouble is always present. If you read some of the "interviews" published on some sites, all these girls sort of say the same thing with variations. Some parents knew, some didn't but accepted it, etc. There was an excellent show on TV recently and one of the actors is a Latina woman who states her very religious mother refuses to even speak to her and will not accept any financial aid or even a birthday gift. Some girls from the mid-west and smaller towns and cities, have said they have been stigmatized and their families treated disrespectfully when people found out about their "porn star" daughter. As parents, we never stop loving our kids, but sometimes it's difficult to accept the results of their decisions. Like I said, I never cared about what their real names were or where they're from, or the rest. I just enjoyed the fantasy.

why you could not just have left it at that :) Take from it what you will. Am i only allowed to say the things that you like and agree with ? are men not allowed to speak their minds and say how they feel ? I would love to make this earth a cleaner safer place for women and children, but i have no help at all, so i chose to just have fun in my old age then die.

In a porn fan's mind, porn supposedly empowers women. In a non porn fan's mind, it devalues and degrades woman.

@SgtSausage I care deeply for my friend so your question isn't making any sense to me. Do you mean someone I was in love with? I'm monogamus in my personal life but that's just the way I am personally, I understand others feel differently.
I never said that Her Shooting pool balls out of Her ass was a bad thing, How do you feel about Her shooting pool balls out of Her ass ? In the Flick, She calls herself a dirty slut whore that needs to be spanked, if i agree, am I devaluing Her ? If she's being passed around the room, i'll only have a problem with Her if i don't get any....and i want to go first is all i'm saying. Edited by - sgtsausage on 11/12/2015 11:37:35 PM

Oscar Wilde once said that a person will never reveal themselves as themselves, but give them a mask and theyll you everything. People who enter the porn business do so for many reasons, but from what I've read the primary reason is quick money. One girl admitted she became beguiled by porn at 16 and although a quiet, studious young women sought out porn actors on line who were more than happy to show her the ropes and I'm sure we're payed off by the agents and producers who hired her. The porn biz is a cutthroat, hardcore lifestyle and may at first seem cool, exciting and glamorous. After you've sucked off 200 dicks and eaten out 200 pussies, what's left? Like one guy wrote the money isn't all that hot after expenses and fees, and the real bucks are in escorting, getting a sugar daddy, and maybe some high roller action in LA and Vegas. Now like it or not that's plain hooking. This girl has suddenly gone almost quiet and probably figured out at 21 it's time to bail! I don't think it's the stigma as much as its realizing that the longer you stay the harder it is to have a normal life.
We've heard it all before. It is usually not the glamour life that a lot of people think it is, so for anybody to claim that they'd encourage female relatives to do it is dishonesty just to try to win a debate.
You do know there are Mother /Daughter porn stars and Sisters in porn and surely they did not just all call each other one day and say "Guess what,im going to go into porn" only for the other to say "OMG so spooky so am i"

I'll bet that there is a pecking order in the porn biz just like any other. Like a big difference between "Trailer Park Sluts" and a Jules Jordan production😜 Same stuff different audience. Of course, if the money was right, even a high class star might consider hitting the park for a shoot. WTF is all spends......right? Porn has adapted to society. Thirty years ago when "Taboo" came out it was "father fucking his daughter, mom fucking her son" now it's all this "step mom, step son, step daughter" BS. Because of all the reality of actual child molestation in our society, porn had to adapt. I don't believe that many of these girls are whores, but if they have a chance to fuck some high roller for $1K or travel to Paris to fuck some sheik for $30K as their "porn persona" that's just biz. I don't believe that Robert Downey is Spiderman either.

Why do you feel the need to put words into people's mouths? I haven't seen anyone here claim they would encourage someone to do it, just not vehemently oppose it. Why are you focusing so much on women? Would you encourage a male friend or relative to enter porn? Many of the disadvantages in relation to STDs and long term impact on your career options apply equally to men as to women.
I think there's two aspects to working in porn and I think some people only look at one and not always the other when discussing such things. There's the sex on film aspect and there's the porn biz aspect. A lot of people get hung up on the having sex on film part. In a perfect world if the stigma wasn't attached and porn had the support and respect it should get that part of it really wouldn't/shouldn't be that big a deal. It's sex. Most people have sex. It seems a lot of people enjoy watching sex acts. It's really just entertainment. Just like with other forms of entertainment it's not something anyone can do well. If a girl is a skilled performer or has that something that makes her popular and in demand with the porn audience she should get props just like people who are good in what they do in other forms of entertainment. But because society has this sex hang up many people see having sex on camera as a horrible thing...and that seems to include the people who watch porn. The other aspect is the actual porn industry. For me the industry is or should be the bigger reason why to tell someone not to get into porn. Most porn careers are short. The money isn't what it used to be. Some "fans" can be a pain to deal with. Some studios/directors will try to get girls to do things that are painful or harmful or they don't want to do. There are people in the biz who just want to use you and don't care what happens to you. The fame a girl might achieve I usually small just opens them up for ridicule and harsh judgment. There's a constant worry of catching an STD. Even though porn is supposedly a multi billion dollar industry a girl will never make the sort of money or respect that reflects that. Those are the more important reasons a person shouldn't do porn moreso than simply worrying about people seeing them performing sex on film.

You are absolutely correct. That was the result of one too many Johnny Walkers. 😀 I meant Ironman
As much as would like to answer No, my answer is Yes..that is why one reason Porn is so popular...alot of guys...even me at times...like to see a gorgeous girl "taught a lesson"....Cumming on her face or having sex in a nasty and degrading way..."brings her down a level"...in some guys eyes. It's about some guys think that some women think that they are "better" than them...porn is about fantasy to where an average guy not only "gets" that girl...but fucks her and has his way with her...thus bring her "down" a notch and soiling her from being pristine. ......I know some may not agree or think that is an ugly answer..but I bet research would point to this. There's a lot of porn out there that would make the average guy here sick to his stomach. A lot comes from Europe. Many of these girls wouldn't go near it. A while back I saw an interview with a 19 year old newbie, and the guy asks her if she'd do a "scat" flick. She says "I wouldn't eat the shit but yeah, I'd shit on camera." It was obvious she was high, and was a girl who refused to do anal or IR. So it's all BS in many ways.
Isn't this whole thread about women? Look at the thread title. If you must know, no I would never encourage my younger brother to go into porn either. But I would be more opposed to a sister doing it if I had one. Purely for the fact that women are more vulnerable than men in this business. And yes there were several who did claim that they would encourage female relatives to do porn, but I believe they were just trying to win a debate.
I do not agree with "taught a lesson" etc but i do enjoy passionate/intense scenes and have seen lots of scenes and thought to myself "If only it was Rocco that was paired up with her" Pretty girls enjoy rough/intense sex or nasty and degrading as you call it...,i remember plenty of Rocco haters getting their knickers in a twist over a scene involving Maddy O'Reilly as he was really rough with her etc, lots of people were shouting him down etc as a women hater etc only for Maddy to eventually come into the thread and say "I begged him to to destroy me" The notion that a girl cannot enjoy rough sex is silly.
^ To be clear, I like and prefer hot, nasty, CONSENSUAL sex.. where he girl enjoys it. Edited by - zophos on 11/14/2015 5:16:51 PM

I know this may be way off target but I'm going take a chance because I figure you might know. My question is how do girls actually make any decent money with this cramming stuff? Streamate comes to mind. I know they get 35 cents per dollar, but all this coin stuff and so much per minute has got me baffled. A show could be 7 minutes in length and all that but I don't think they can make any real money working 8 hours a week like one girl, and there are a couple of hundred on that site alone?
There's no "One size fits all" answer for that. There are girls who tried porn and not only didn't become a big name or popular in porn but then probably had the sigma of doing porn to deal with and haunt them in their civilian life too. I'd imagine it must be tough to get in to porn, do scenes, perhaps not enjoy it that much and not ever rise up past working for small studios and being stuck at that level and the porn biz totally ignores you. Then you get out of porn and then those scenes cause you grief in the real world. On the other hand... There of course have been plenty of girls who being in porn has paid off for them. Jenna Jameson, Sasha Grey, etc., who owe their popularity, career and money earnings to their time in porn. For some girls porn has given them opportunities they probably wouldn't have gotten otherwise. I think the girls who embrace it and make a business plan for themselves are the ones who do best. Lisa Ann has left porn but will probably do well outside of porn because embraced it and will continue to build off her pornstar fame. I think it's a mistake to try and run from it or put it down after you get out. Sasha Grey accepted her porn career and never shied away from it or really put it down and at this point it's not the main topic of most interviews with her. She made a gradual transition. Plus there are many girls who don't shoot sex scenes for major companies but still make money in various ways and are still tied to the adult industry in other ways. So it is possible to make the whole porn thing work while in porn and post porn and make it a long term thing. Just because others may try to devalue a girl for doing porn doesn't make it a reality for the girl/woman. In many cases that girl may be doing much better off (and happier) than those passing judgment.

If it's not consensual, it's rape, and no one has promoted rape on this thread.

I'm of the belief that many of these girls promote themselves in any manner that will get them paid. One babe who's been around a while and I think was in rehab went dark for over a month. Today she posts on Twitter a picture of herself sitting on the toilet taking a selfie with the caption "thinking of u" and all these idiots are creaming their jeans and welcoming her back. She's taking a dump or a P and thinking of them........and that doesn't devalue her? What a loser 😏
I've said this time and time again, I miss the days when nobody gave a shit about their real names or where they came from or their fucking dog, horse or where they had lunch. It was fuck, suck and make a buck. Now we have Amazon Wish Lists, where you can send this girl a gift, and get "spoiled" whatever the hell that means, and some of this stuff costs a lot. I can't believe anyone would buy into this BS but I'm sure there is, because a guy at the gym I go to sent this babe a $200 gift and got poop in return, not even a Tweet saying thanks. Then his wife saw the charge on the credit card and Bam!! I watch porn for the fantasy, and save the gift giving for someone who'll appreciate it. 👍
yeah...back in the days, when life was less valuable. smoking in elevators and train cars, no seat belts, children working in coal mines, people fighting for basic human rights, etc.... just gimmi flesh then die was the attitude. i don't want to know your name, i don't care how you feel or how you grew up. just cum then get out of here. I miss those abusive days too.

I'm sure you know that's not what I meant. Many of these women didn't want their names revealed or where they were from, etc. It was only when some disgruntled porn person "leaked" all that personal info that things got nasty. Of course all these babes hustling stuff on Twitter, Facebook, and such is a hoot. "Send me a copy of your shipping confirmation and I'll spoil you." Really??? Sarge, the porn business is a tough, hard way to earn a buck. Celebrity is fleeting, and you can be the "Hottest Teen In Porn" one day and living on unemployment or the "generosity" of others the next. It must be a real bitch to start at 18, be washed up at 22 and have a resume that includes little real experience except you have no "gag reflex" and have fucked and sucked 500 guys and women. Actually, if I think about it, I feel sorry for these young women.
this is true. back in the days, we acted like we had our shit together better than these new people do. today, people are "keeping it real" and not pretending to be perfect. showing them selves more and revealing their flaws and shortcomings. embracing their akwardness and being loved for it. this attitude also made way for nastier porn to be the norm.

I think that maybe "back in the days" we really did have our shit together better. For sure we were much more able to survive on our own and not keep running back to mommy and daddy every time "things got heavy" I enjoy porn for what it is, a fantasy. I've been fortunate as I'm sure you have, to have enjoyed the company of some very beautiful and great women. Some of whom were very creative. I don't recall getting involved with all the acrobatics that I see in these porn scenes. I'm guessing a lot of it is just to show things we wouldn't normally see while actually getting it on. Even with a pro while overseas I always treated these girls with respect and courtesy, it paid off big time in many ways. That's why I get steamed over the Amazon Wish List crap. One babe, I won't mention her name, but I'm sure you probably know who I mean, has a $445 HD TV on her AWL, with this BS. "Send me the shipping confirmation and I'll spoil you." Of course no email address provided. What idiot would fall for that?? Of course she hasn't produced any work in months and now she wants us to decorate her house :-) Anyway, I think we're on the same page. Great chatting with you.
working in coal mines at age 6 will do that to you. makes you very independant. we drunk alcohol with our dinners at age 8, and we were able to go outside and run around the city alone by ourselves at age 4.
they getting that money, don't hate lol. if someone or many someones are sending these girls gifts and money, good. if you are enjoying what she's doing but you are not sending her any gifts or money, why get in her way of getting what she's getting ? who is she hurting ? some girls get spoiled by men just for showing them her feet with her socks on. i think it's great. i'm not sending shit, but i think it great that she's getting hers.
