You know once I rented a DVD and thought it was missing a vocal track. However it turned out that the vocals were only on one of the two channels and my crummy TV only had one audio input instead of a left and right(white & red). You might check you audio connections, even pirated DVDs should have vocals.
I bought a Japanese DVD a month ago but my player only plays title's soundtrack but for some reason won't play Japanese sound , I've other players and this is for all the three of them ,so I've examinated the DVD with proper programs and the sound appear to be where it has to be , my PC can read the track (which is a normal AC3) but none of my players can. I'm still wondering why even changing to Mono, Or to left-Right channel only or changing track to play there's no way to hear any sound. Of course I managed to change my first copy of that DVD but the substitute has the same problem no sound available except for title.
Of course it isn't a pirated DVD

Have you tried playing them on a computer, or just a stand alone set top box? If it's pirated and burned on DVD + or - R, there's a possibility of incompatibility that wouldn't show up on the computer. I know my brother in law was buying mainstream films on DVD with what looked like the original artwork that had the sound missing on his DVD player. I'm quite certain he was duped into buying pirated disks from a shady outlet.
Unfortunately it's completely written in Japanese , and I haven't found it in any online seller yet , it's difficult because I don't have any search key so I'm trying to look at every cover but it takes time and it has no meaning since I saw it by my PC , I prefere one of my players though

A friend of mine owned a video store for a few years. He bought More Dirty Debutantes 128 and it didn't have a soundtrack. He tried to return it but the distributor gave him a new one and he didn't want the defective video and he gave it to me. I know it wasn't pirated so some videos/discs are defective. I bought a used VHS tape of Faces Down Asses Up #6 and the video case is blue plastic and it has the printing right on the case so that one would be hard to pirate and the tape runs out before the video ends. That's happened more than once.
Yeah, but that's New Machine as well. I think it was Erotic Bondage which had no audio. IIRC, I was told by somebody at New Machine that they really didn't care that much about the entire movie missing audio because I was the only person to complain about it. I guess that's not much of a surprise with a company who's too cheap to even put art on their DVDs...

that's happened to me over the years too. But no more than 3 or 4 times in the many tapes I've bought & rented. Usually in the dubbing a company is too f***ing chinchy to use T-120 when copying. I have one of Kitten Natividad's(of Russ Meyer fame) first forays into hardcore that just cuts out before the flick is done. Gotta remember at least 10 minutes is taken up at the beginning with 1-900 numbers etc. So if you have a movie that runs 90 minutes & you have 10 minutes of adds you need enough tape for 100 minutes. But people get confused and use T-90 tape which only has 90 complete minutes. in short you'll lose the last ten or more minutes of your movie .
