Topic spawned from the recent jabber on the Alina Li thread. Provocative, albeit, a little creepy... Anyway, first up Julian Rios. pretty abrupt ending for a performer who would be in the argument for all-time best.
Speaking of candidates for all-time best, I did wonder about Roxanne Blaze. However, it doesn't take too long before you realize that abrupt and unexplained departures are just one of those facts of life in the entertainment industry.

I have to second your comment. She had everything to go far in the industry and must have had the support of some people in the industry because she was the star of more than one title. I never heard what happened but I didn't do any research. I think the reasons why performers leave the industry is their own. If they wish to share it with us than fine but otherwise I think it's none of our business.

I did use to wonder what happened to Arianna Jollee... there was all that noise over the 65 guy creampie anal thing and then it went quiet.
^^I just assumed that since she had done everything legally possible in porn and often more than once that the calls got fewer and fewer as studios wanted someone knew for their scene and she just found something else to do.
The biggest question mark for me is Keri Sable. The girl was beautiful, talented, and nasty as fuck. She was in the middle of her Wicked contract and then she just up and quits. Such a waste of talent. If she had dumped her Wicked contract and stayed in the game a few more years longer, we would all unanimously be speaking of her as one of the all time greats. Such a shame.
That is, obviously, a respectable - even admirable - point of view and i do agree. But...here's the thing: The same speculation occurs when an athlete in his prime quits. Take Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, or Ricky Williams. For a time, folks were wondering what happened to Debra Winger. I was wondering about Rosanna Arquette, who went and made the film "The Search for Debra Winger". Then people wondered what happened to Jan, and how come she didn't partake in "A Very Brady Christmas". Shall I go on? Best example might be Michael Jordan's "retirement". lots of speculation about gambling and his father's death. Pretty intrusive, no? This is all pretty consistant with what's going on here. That being said, Barry Sanders doesn't need you outside his bedroom window watching him get dressed. Jim Brown, on the other hand, would just throw you down a flight of stairs. The point, I suppose, speculation: ok; stalking: not too good. But will I ever get to see Serena South's lovely round, firm ass again??? What's a perv to do? It often seems that, the minute you take a liking to a girl they're gone. (As in, as soon as I like a girl, she's gone.) Porno karma, or so it would seem.
I apply the same rule to athletes and people in the mainstream entertainment industry as I do to people in porn. The only difference is that these people are discussed a lot more and a reason is often discovered.

Re: Kink Williams' analogy, the reason I can't fully get on board with this is is because pro athletes and Hollywood actors - generally speaking - are paid far more than pornstars, are more well-known, and have the respect and admiration of the mainstream. Consider this: what Hollywood actors and pro athletes have wishlists? What Hollywood actors and pro athletes have to supplement their income with other income streams (e.g. dancing, camming, escorting)? All of this means the idea of a pornstar leaving their industry is far less surprising than a pro athlete or Hollywood actor leaving their respective industry.
I was a big fan of hers as well, and the last I recall reading (I think it was on a forum associated to her personal site) was that she was moving back home to start a business. From the sounds of it it seemed to be one of those Avon-type direct marketing things, but I'm not sure of that. No idea if that actually took off or what she's doing now.

There are some actors that fly Overseas to make commercials just so that people in North America don't know they do that.The only reason why it's almost never a surprise is because athletes and actors are public figures whose every moves is recorded on radio, TV or print media so they can never really disappear without someone mention the reason or reasons. The only exception is usually actors that started young. They will sort of fade until we don't see them but if you dig then you can usually find out why they are gone.

We've all seen their Amazon wish lists on their Twitter, often accompanied with a line like "Spoil me and I'll spoil you!" That's another rant for another time. You can't compare actors/athletes with their endorsements deals and commercial appearances with porn girls camming, dancing, and escorting. Porn actresses are far more likely to genuinely need the added income as opposed to Hollywood actors/pro athletes who generally don't NEED the added income. They're loaded and just want to get more loaded.

I suspect that part of the problem with your statement is that you assume that she is the one who started that official website. It's quite possible that it wasn't and this was all that she needed to realise that people in the industry aren't out to help talent make money.
A lot of women seem to be leaving the industry lately and I have no idea why. Has working in porn become so shitty this year that so many women want out now.
^Unemployment numbers are decreasing, so maybe women who were in porn are finding it easier to leave because they've found jobs outside the industry.

Plus porn has kind of jumped the shark. There is really nothing left for porn to do. Its completely saturated our culture and is basically passé at this point. Also, let's not forget religion. Lots of women leave because their religious beliefs (and their families) can wear them down.

I sometimes start my wonders by wondering about why people seem to wonder about why new rising female performers wonder about taking it up the ass or not. And when they leave the question open, everybody seem to wonder. Still it's an open question, whether an ass is involved or not. The odds are in the favor of the latter. That really makes me wonder. Should somebody go all in here. I don't think so. Even Jay Sin won't. And when they leave it all, I wonder about all those that still seem to wonder. Funny indeed was I a bookmaker giving odds but I'm not. I only could make some good bets over the time. I'd say Stacie Silverstone was never into it. And she left. Who's to thank?
