Possibly a nice note of thanks from the person. Possibly just a deep and dark sense of silence. Possibly some slight feelings of regret. IMO....this is the kind of situation where on the way in...you really shouldn't be expecting much or anything at all on the way out. You should be doing it for your own personal reasons. If it's something that makes you feel happy/pleased...that should be your only expected "reward". It's called giving...not getting. ...learn it...live it...love it. I wouldn't buy unless I was gonna get to see her wear it, in a photo or video. Otherwise, what's the point? Many amateurs such as at southern-charms will do this at a minimum. Some even will email you personal photos or mention your name on their website or similar public/private acknowledgment. I don't know how the pros operate, but I'm guessing it would be waay chillier than the amateurs. If I am to be an unacknowledged anonymous donor to someone/something, I'd choose a different cause other than a porngirl. But that's just me.
Yeah, I'm not buying anybody anything unless I'm friends with them in real life, and even then I probably wouldn't buy them anything since they make more money that I do. A cup of coffee maybe, but that's my upper limit.
I guess if you have the money you can buy them the stuff. I just see a lot of high priced stuff on their lists. Someone had a car and some had jewelry on them. They do some great work, and I guess they deserve something for providing the fans with entertainment.
I'm curious about who buys this stuff too. It's the ultimate, ultimate "fanboy=total chump" scenario. Kristina Rose is one of the few who does this and doesn't annoy me because she sends something BACK to her gift-givers - usually DVDs. I'm sure there are a lot of girls who don't do anything. Not even a thank you.

This seem to be really common more or less every girl tweets their wishlist. Actually saw some tweets from Madelyn Marie about she was given a ferrarri?! I don't know it was on her wish list...

I wouldn't buy any stuff of any actress. I just cut a line between fiction and reality.

Yeah I heard about that. Absolutely preposterous that someone would buy her a car. And the general idea of fans buying stuff for these women, particularly in a recession is absurd.
I always send thank you packages when people send me gifts from my wish list. I send all kinds of stuff to people depending on what they sent me or if they had any special requests. I make thank you cards/letters and I usually stuff an 8x10 &/ DVD(s), etc. I've even sent clothes I've worn in movies to a few people that asked. People ask for all kinds of things. It's fun! Several girls told me I should make one a while ago and honestly, I didn't think anyone would buy me anything, but boy was I wrong. :) I have some very amazing and generous fans. I love it!
its interesting that in this day and age, pornstars would even accept packages from unknown individuals. Where are these "wish lists" anyway? I imagine the actresses have them mail stuff to the address of their agency or something like that.
^There is a video somewhere on ADT where Dana Dearmond has post delivered directly to her home and it wasn't a pleasant package either. What it was I can't remember but it totally grossed her out, a fans sperm or something not good at all. yuk!
Amazon keeps someone's shipping address on file, and then someone else can view items on their wish-list, buy items, and Amazon will ship it to the wish-list creator. But I believe I've read that this only works for items being sold by Amazon directly, not items that Amazon lists on behalf of another smaller business. You can put those items on a wish list, but Amazon won't automatically share the shipping address with the third party seller. Quite rightfully, probably. I have given stuff to two girls before, but it was stuff that I liked and thought that they should have, not stuff that they asked for. So I shouldn't be too disappointed that they didn't go out and shoot wearing those clothes immediately, in the case of clothing that I have given. I've given to one of the girls in person, and mailed to a PO Box, agency office, and in one case, a performer did tell me her actual home street address after she left her agency. I guess a wish-list is not a bad idea to let fans feeling generous know what she actually wants, so they don't spend their money to get her something she'll never use. But tweeting a link to her wish-list everyday does seem a little bit tacky and gold-digging to me. Edited by - Gentleman Jon on 8/9/2010 12:58:32 PM
I've never bought anything off a wishlist for a performer yet. But if more performers had a attitude like the wonderful Kristina Rose, then more fans like me would probably consider doing it.
I thought about getting a pair of boy shorts with side ties or a wet look mini dress for Dana, but I don't really have the money to spend on that type of thing. I might buy something for like $6 from ThinkGeek, but I don't think I'd spend more than that... Unless I was gonna get like 20 private pics of her wearing them and doing various sexy things.
Why not? If someone wants to give someone a gift with no strings, let them. We do it all the time with people we're acquainted with. How many times have you gives someone you don't even like a gift of some kind just because it was expected of you? If I had the money, I would think the least I could do would be to send one girl I liked something I knew she would like. There's no better way to know what someone likes than to see a wish list they personally made.
Buying gifts for your favorite pornstar, is that really any different than buying a pair of her underwear? I personally don't see anything wrong with either. Some fans really love their favorite pornstars and it only makes sense that they want to do things that bring them closer to the girls.

As Savoy said it makes the fan look like a chump. The fan isn't a close friend or are they dating the girl. And usually the fan gets the girl a gift and she gives them nothing in return except a thank you tweet or a signed autograph. It's kind of sad, particularly with so many people currently out of work nationally. Furthermore, some of these girls, who are very well known in the industry, who make a lot of money, some of whom are contract women, fly first class regularly, have wish lists. For what? They can easily buy themselves what they want. Yet they expect people who are poorer than them to spend money on them.

I remember listing to Stern years ago and someone wrote in looking for Robin's panties. Stern and the boys took a pair of panties and put some chocolate on the crotch area and nuked it for a bit. They then said they put some tuna towards the front crotch area and let it sit overnight before mailing it out to the fan. Edited by - rosco fuji on 8/10/2010 8:11:24 PM

Its the whole "celebrity mentality" in general. Look at douches like Brody Jenner and The Situation. Girls just throw themselves at these guys because they are on TV. Girls give guys sex, where as guys give girls presents in hope for sex. One only needs to go to the AEE or any other Porn Convention type of event to see the hold the girls have on the guys.
But he buys her movies and gives her money by proxy. Same difference.
What is he expecting? A medal?
Who cares?
What does this have to do with anything?
That they can. Nevertheless, it's really none of your business anyways, is it? It's a gift. You give someone a gift because you want to. It doesn't have to make sense to anyone other than yourself. It can be your sister, your mother, some random asshole on the street. Doesn't matter. It's your money, your time and your decision. Edited by - randomprecision on 8/10/2010 1:19:08 PM

Yes I suppose it doesn't matter to you if someone is a chump for buying a girl gifts that doesn't recognize their existence. But to some it does matter.
The connection is far more nebulous in the case of buying her movies.
Interesting, but it was a statement regarding how tragic the getting a gift for someone who cares not for that person really is.
Who cares if people are buy girls expensive gifts in a recession when other people need actual help? Well believe it or not some do.
What do you mean? Some of these girls are far wealthier than their fans and yet they to have wish lists asking said fans to buy them gifts. It's absurd and unseemly.
And if someone wants to be considered a chump for getting a girl a gift that barely knows that person is alive then others can give their opinion on the matter and call the situation what it is. Edited by - x3094 on 8/10/2010 3:51:02 PM

^ But not ALL fans are poor. Years ago, I had a fan who was quite wealthy who sent me gifts on a fairly regular basis. That was years before Amazon wish lists existed. :) If a person doesn't have the money to spend on a gift for someone, then I definitely think they shouldn't be doing it. But if the person has enough money that it won't put them out, and they really want to do it then I don't see the harm. If the girl acknowledges it in some sort of nice way (be it a personal message of some sort or a DVD or souvenir of some sort), hopefully that is all the fan is expecting in return. It's a gift of appreciation, not a bribe. :)

Since it was years ago, can you tell us what the fan's motivation was for sending you gifts? Was it for appreciation only or was the fan looking to meet for something more?
Because some have the complete inability to mind their own business, I guess.
No it isn't. If nobody buys their movies, they don't get paid to make more. Twenty bucks here, twenty there adds up. Impossible to argue this isn't where the money comes from.
The person buying the gift already knows they're not going to get anything in return and therefore, I doubt most of them expect anything. The person would be "a chump" if they expected something in return. You don't give gifts because you think you'll get something out of it. Or at least if you do, you're doing it for all the wrong reasons.
There are always people who could use "help" but it is not your place to dictate how people should manage their money or what they should do with it. As I said, some people need to mind their business.
I have seen a couple of the wish lists you mention. I didn't see anything on there that says they expect people who can't afford to buy them gifts to do so. The list is up there for random people. If you happen to see it and you want to send them a gift and you can afford it, my guess would be that's what they intend. I highly doubt they expect someone to mortgage their house to send their favorite porn star an expensive gift. Also, generally, it is my belief that porn performers don't make as much as some people think they do when all is said and done. They might make more than the average person on a given day but a porn "career" has a limited lifespan for most of them and it's all done within a few years. They might be able to pack away a nice little stash if they play it really well but it is my understanding that for whatever reason, a lot of it is spent as fast as they make it. In the long run, they are probably not going to be any wealthier than anyone else.
Who gave you the royal scepter? Over the time I have been on this board, I have seen people harassing porn performers over some pretty stupid shit but this is the dumbest fucking thing I've seen yet.
Edited by - randomprecision on 8/10/2010 9:01:06 PM
y'know I'd buy one of my favorite pornstars a sexy pair of shoes or outfit if there was some chance they might wear it in a vid or to a con or something, that would be cool
I don't know if you really can. It seems like when I found those wish lists in the past, I was just looking more for general information on the star on Google and happened to notice there was something for them on Amazon, which seemed odd to me at the time. So I looked and there they were. You're probably more likely to find links to their wish lists on their Facebook or Tweety Bird or whatever it is.
So some should be free to be a chump without having anyone give their opinion on the matter? Well the world doesn't work that way, nor will it ever.
Actually the connection is far more nebulous. It's equivalent to sending money directly to a musician instead of buying their cd. In the latter case the money is divided up amongst the record company, lawyers, etc...so the artist is lucky to make a fraction of the money that comes from the album purchase and so it is with purchasing movies.
If someone is giving gifts to a stranger without getting anything in return of equal value then they would be classified as a chump. And we're not talking about altruism such as working in a soup kitchen or helping the sick and needy. We're talking about giving expensive gifts to people who in some cases are already wealthy. It's highly illogical and evidence of wasteful spending.
Sure, people should mind their own business. People should be free to be chumps without be called so, but as previously mentioned the world will never be that way.
From what I've seen they don't care how they get the gifts as long as they get them.
Most aren't going to be but the ones who are wealthy and are contract girls and have wishlists asking their fans to send them gifts which they can easily afford, is to be considered, as previously stated, absurd.
As previously stated if you expect such chump behavior to only be discussed in a way you agree with then you expect a world to exist that never has nor ever will. Edited by - x3094 on 8/11/2010 2:38:12 AM

I brought up that example because that fan never asked for or hinted at wanting anything sexual with me. I did send them some photos and other small stuff as a thank you, and they seemed very happy with that. I did have another fan who wanted to buy me a gift or two in the $10,000 range, and it wasn't said outright but it felt like he was hoping it would get him into bed with me. I actually declined his gifts. I never did the escort sex thing. Ironically, I'm not all that great about receiving gifts graciously. There is a very nice member of ADT who has brought me birthday gifts during CES / AEE (aka the Vegas convention) on a couple of different years. I appreciate it, but I feel awkward because I don't really know how to say thank you other than just saying thank you.
