Thanks for your viewpoint/insight. Your point above is really not so uncommon. People forget that yes you are a star, but at the end of the day, you go home just like there rest of us. In all my experiences as an Event Manager and doing the meet & greets, it seems like the minute a fan meets a star and gives them an unsolicited present, the star should immediately be so grateful and make that person his best friend for life. I've seen it a hundred times, "So and so's music/performance spoke to me and got me through a dark period in my life, so I need to tell them that and give them this present." Everyone wants to be their best friend. No different than when you are signing at AEE, the line is 50 people long and everyone wants to take 10 pictures with the 5 cameras he brought and have you autograph your birthday on 8 different calenders, instead of saying, "Hey Tricia, nice to meet you, I love your work, thanks for the autograph. Bye."

I think if a person wants to spend their money on their fav star its okay. If you have the money to buy their work and purchase them a gift. It's cool. Spend your money.
I dont think they should be thinking anything else would be coming from it. If the girl sends a thank you or a picture from it cool.
I only got the idea of this thread when I saw a girl on twitter and She had her wish list up. If a guy send her the lingerie from it, that might be all right. She send them a thank you gift or pics. Maybe the fan will be able to see her in the new lingerie during a scene.
But its not my money being spent. I just wanted to know about fans buying stuff off the stars wish list.

What if she doesn't? Should you even expect any sort of thanks, or acknowledgement of the gift?

Well it would be rude if she doesn't even thank you for the gift, if she says nothing I would probebly lose all respect for her and would no longer be a fan, I'm not expecting a blowjob or anything, but a simple "thank you" even in e-mail form is expected simply as an acknowledgement that somebody spend good money to make them happy, a small gesture of appreciation at least lets the fan who bought them the gift know it wasn't in vain.

Hi, you can search on amazon the name of the performer and you can eventually find it. But it's risky at best since a lot of users can use the same name of the actress. IMO get a twitter account and start follow the actresses you want to find their wish lists and look into their tweeter page, you will find a post about the address of their wishlist. Obviously some of them have the url on their myspace page or facebook page, but I hate searching for those pages and having them organized some way. I think twitter is the best option.... I only have found a few lists, ie: Juelz Ventura's amazon list is on her twitter home: http://twitter.com/JuelzVentura. One good thing about twitter is that you can find a lot of performers pages quicker using the list feature. Hope this helps.
Some twitter pages: (not sure if all of them have their wishlist posted)
http://twitter.com/madelynmarie
http://twitter.com/RachelStarrxxx
http://twitter.com/jessicajaymes1 ... Check the description of the pic, I'm guessing wish list gift from a fan
http://twitter.com/kimberlykane ... check her last twitter (talking about amazon's list)

So porn performers aren't the only ones who do this. I ran across a rash of amateur webgirls who cooed about "spoiling" them and featured links to their fave online stores, Amazon, and Paypal on their little rinky-dink sites. Apparently, certain guys get off on buying stuff for untouchable naked chicks.

Savoy-
From what I could tell, it was the amateur girls, nude magazine models and feature dance stars who started the trend a bunch of years ago.
Before Amazon wish lists, I would see those girls post their sizes or the name of their favorite perfumes or brands on their websites. I still remember the first time I saw a girl had asked for a certain brand and model of sunglasses and a specific purse.
Even when I used to be a stripper, some of the other girls would make it known to their regulars what their favorite perfume was, what their shoe and clothes sizes were. IMHO, that can be more interactive for the guy. He's going to get to see the girl in the clothes and smell the perfume on her and then take home that memory. A lot of the girls would snap pictures of themselves in the clothes for the guy to take home.

Truth of the matter is that you (as a man) can romanticize all ya want, it still remains a non existent intangible "relationship" between you and the star (and more so, this does not change if you book her as an escort as one of Pam's gals! LOL, some well known books of certain mamasans truly have complete lists of A+ designer stuff for all of their escorts/in-call prostitutes. Sad.). Anyway, she might find you cute or nice for giving her sum of the presents on her wish list, but at the end it wouldn't be any different for her than getting them same goodies from "some" guy that she just happened to meet and who- because of her beauty- somehow decides to, let's say, invite her to go shopping at Bijan's on RD.
Sorry to say, but for the majority of the girls you don't mean shit, and they certainly don't tend to have fond memories of tricks who "spoil" them by buying a new louis vuitton bag from their wish list. If they get the goodies, then that's that. They surely do not have any fuzzy fuzzy feeling towards the fanboi and/or trick when finally strutting the streets with that product which they didn't feel like paying for themselves (even if they could). Please, let's not start to list how much certain girls make in year. More than 100 Benjamins is certainly not beneath the norm.
Seriously, I remaim flabbergasted when I see how certain well known stars behave towards (non stalking, non weirdo) fan's.
Just take a peek at Isis' Taylor appreciation thread for example to see what I mean.
A couple of months ago (I thing 2009) , there were also some guys (African Americanos) here on ADT ( -can't find that thread any longer, but maybe someone else, could be stormy daniels from what I remember (who I personally think is great performer, but this is not about me)-), who went to an expo (AVN's) to finally meat their favorite star (White Americana) and to get their DVD's signed and for a lil' bit of chit chat about her latest projects. The star in question didn't appreciate some small talk and even declined to take the boys' pens for signing the damn DVD. One guy of this group of friends told here that he still is a major fan of this star, even though he said that he felt that she didn't like being around them due to their skin color. And yes, as a multi racial guy myself, I feel racist tendecies in a blink. But seriously, this guy decided to reamain a fan and even asked if some of us know which new flicks of her are cumin?
I mean, c'mon know, where is man's self respect?
There are some exceptions to these rotten apples (my fav: Francesca Le' (see F for francesca thread) ór Bobbi & Kristina Rose (who both takes pictures for their fans or send standard photo's ( which don't have to cost more than a couple of pennies a piece)), but grosso modo, it's all cash what makes the world go round and round. It's all business at the end of the day! You don't belong nor will prolly not belong to them girls inner circles by giving what you give. Get real. Go clubbing and spend your pennies & dollars on someone you have a non-fictional relationship with in real life.

Obviously some guys like being treated like a masochist. Again, I've got to leave that to the "chumps"....(Savoy's choice of word).

Agreed. If I bought something for a performer, I'd atleast want some tacit acknowledgement, nothing major. If I didn't get any such acknowledgement, I wouldn't exactly be pissed, but I certainly wouldn't buy anything else to give them (or at least I would really think twice)

Absolutely. That makes sense to me. It's tangible. Gifting something to someone who is hundreds of miles away is a little silly.

"Pay pigs"? Oh yes. My first exposure to that was Mariah Milano (I think) and her financial domination site. Just add it to the list of fetishes that perplex me.

I've had guys buy stuff off my wish list, or buy things that they know I like and bring it to me when I'm doing a club appearance. I appreciate anything that is sent to me and love going to check my mail drop and finding presents, but I certainly don't expect gifts. Expecting people to send things just because you're a porn star/chick that runs around naked just seems selfish and ungrateful.
If I know who sent it (sometimes they don't include their name or any of that info) I will make sure that I thank them publicly and find a way to either send them a couple pics or if they've brought it to me when I'm featuring I'll let them have a 8x10 and a Polaroid and go hang with them in the crowd for a while (if the club allows me to go sit with customers).

Fact is:
wishlists work!
so you can call the wishlists and the people who send pornstars present
dump and say you dont get it, but you dont have to understand it or do you?
What do you get out of understanding it?
We all agree that somebody should not expect something for a gift, cause well it is a gift, no?
That leaves the "Why" question.

I think that someone should maybe consider starting up some kind of
porn star wish list DVD or website based running series.
It is a very interesting fantasy situation to work
with and around..from all sides.
(...the fans/viewers and the performers.)
If the creativity is there...the possibilities and the various scenarios are
somewhat endless...*and* they are also very interesting..IMO.
I have many related ideas...if anyone is interested...feel free
to contact me.
I think that I've come with a number of very interesting and unique
ideas/takes on this general concept.

It be some affordable things fans could buy for the stars, then it be some insanely priced items that I know some fans would never buy for them.
I dont think the fans buy the gifts that are in the $1,000's of dollars gifts that the stars have on their lists. Maybe they do, maybe they don't.
Its the fans money being spent and they spend it however they like. The wishlist works. They should expect thank you or maybe some pics and nothing else.

Well Isis Taylor has one of the more ambitious wish lists I've seen. She has two cars on it.
If a fan spent that kind of money I assume a relationship would have to be part of the deal.

I tend to stay away from these.
Last thing I bought for an actress I don't consider a friend was supposed to be in exchange for pictures of her using it.
Still waiting on those and that was about 6 months ago, so keep that in mind.
Give because you want to say "Thank You" and that you appreciate their work. Not because you expect them to do something in return.

I rather book them as escorts or bang a few stripper before I would buy a porn actress any gift. I do not see the point of buying a porn actress, a stranger, a gift.

Amazon Wish lists is another source of income (it a form of business and is managed as such) for porno stars, those who publize that their wishlists are rather open that they send back thanks notes or will send back a gift - such as photo of the clothes if that what was bought or signed photos, etc. Some are very aggresive in asking for stuff some or not - it all depends on the performer.
Personally, I have never sent a gift or would send a gift, their is a line between reality and fantasy that sending a gift for me for me would be jumping over the line.

I've never bought anything for my favorite performers, if I had a ton of money I probably would. I do prefer spending my money actually buying their dvds.
I'm sure those wishlists gives pornstars a lot of stuff and I don't have any problems with pornstars having wishlists. But do they actually get the stuff that costs several thousands dollars?
And those who buy stuff from a pornstars' wishlist, what do they get in return?

Will the fan boi who buys stuff for his favorite porn star become the next stalker camped-out at the studio office building? Privacy and self-preservation should be concerns for every celebrity these days. If TMZ can ambush celebrities when they go out in public, what's to stop a zealous fan from doing the same? No thanks..I'll keep my fantasy girls at "arm's length" to avoid a stalker rep.

I would never buy someone a gift unless I actually knew them, some people in the industry have been kind enough to send me free DVDs, so that would be different.
But I LOVE looking at the wishlists, I always want to see what movies and books they want to see/read. Also love the left-field selections like the the CucinaPro 150 Imperia Pasta Machine that Zoe Voss wants. Also she has a soprano and alto sax listed, maybe her and Bobbi Starr should form a jazz group.
BTW Gianna Michaels and Gracie Glam seem to have Amazon Wishlists as well, I wonder if any of these are faked? That would be a good little scam.

Okay, last one, I swear. KR has comments for each of her items, some of which are (intentionally) very funny like this one about a collection of the Directors Label Box set of Music Videos:
“I'm a huge music lover and I grew up on MTV. I used to have these but an ex-boyfriend of mine stole them from me along with my dog when we broke up :( It's cool I maced him one time so we're even, but I sure do miss these DVDs.”

I get the sense the crazy expensive items are listed "just in case". Just in case, by chance, the right fan happens to read the list at the right time, with money to burn.

I agree with the "I don't understand it" group, but I don't hold it against the girls who do it. If someone told me right now that I could even get 1 gift a month off of a wishlist I would have one created within 5 minutes lol.
I did notice that Isis Taylor had a golf set on her wishlist and that is awesome. Nothing like a sexy girl out on the course (as long as they aren't shooting like a 150 or something)

Just an FYI, TMZ doesn't ambush anyone. TMZ and other papinazis go where they know a celebrity is going to be, ALA the celeb's publicist calling them and telling them what time they'll show up. If you watch TMZ, they are always hanging out at the same 2 or 3 locations. It's self serving. The Papinazis go where the celebs are going to be and in turn the celebs go to where they know the cameras are. LA's a big city, it's very easy to avoid the camera.

Nah, what's sad is people expecting something in return, giving is it's own reward. Who gives a wedding gift, or Christmas gift, or donates their time on a community project, expecting something in return? Whom anyone chooses to give their money, time, or gifts to is their own business and it's pointless to judge.

Whoa! That's a bit of a stretch, to compare doing stuff for charity for the greater good or giving stuff to people that you actually know in real life with buying stuff for strangers who may well have a greater annual income than you do, mainly because you've masturbated to them.
I'm not really thinking less of the girls who do have wish lists. They can be interesting just to browse, as you can learn about a person's personality by what stuff they want. Though even if I don't mind the wishlist itself, tweeting about it several times a day does come off as a bit gold-digging. But anyway, that defense of wish lists is a bit extreme.

No stretch, giving is giving. Here is an example that will connect the two dots: Your favorite football player is on TV making a pitch for, "The Boys Clubs of America", and you donate. Would you have thought about donating to that particular cause before you saw Joe Football asking for money, probably not. So, have you given this as a favor to the football player or the charity, or does it really matter?
