Depending on the comedian or musician if they're well off those gifts probably don't mean that much to them on an individual personal level. Some celebs just have all that stuff piled up somewhere and lump it all together in a place and in their minds as "Gifts from fans". In the case of a pornstar the expectations of appreciation is higher because they are more accessible. And as I mentioned a person usually will give for so long until they expect something back. At some point that fan is going to be annoyed that they bought "Fill in the blank" and all they got back from the pornstar is a "thanks" when they feel it should've been more. At some point it's going to be "I spent all that money on her and all she did was write "thanks" back to me! I deserve more than that for what I did.." type of thing. I can't even blame the pornstar. The gifts they receive will never be as important to them as it is for the person giving them. If I did, I would certainly consider buying gifts for the girls I enjoy. In my opinion, it's a really nice "thank you" card from a fan. Think about it. Being a female porn star is a tough job that in the end can be very thankless and unpleasant. As fans most of us will pick a few girls we really like and watch them consistently. Some people will say porn stars make a lot of money. I don't know if that's true or not but when you think about what they put into it, it's probably not really a great return. And that's if they're top performers getting lots of work. That's not going to last forever. We all know that. In the porn star and fan relationship, the fan generally ends up getting more out of it. A girl gives up a lot just to be in one porn flick. It's not like you're giving an expensive gift to a random girl you met on the street who never did anything to earn it. They're all newcomers but becoming very popular recently and discussed regularly in the Star Crossed forum. Two girls said $20 and $25 which I'm happy to pay for, but the other wanted $80 for a signed photo. I politely replied and said it was far too high for just a photo, and she replied telling me to f*ck off if I wasn't interested (I'll put that attitude down to the pot smoking). Well thanks very much - won't be watching any more of your scenes with that attitude. As for the other 2, they sent a small surprise gift with the photo and you can really tell they want to interact with their fans. So I'll be buying more of their scenes. I chatted her up, paid for a lap dance and got her phone number whereas the "pathetic nerd" spent 2k to be called pathetic. I've just seen this happen too often, girls bragging about how this guy keeps buying shit for them and how they are not at all interested. Guess I've just never been that guy, besides if I wanted to buy anyone a gift I'd buy my girlfriend something nice or my mom or siblings... It just seems so random going out to buy a porn star who in reality doesn't know or care about you something on their wish list. [Link]
