I don't necessarily care to parse the meaning of, a sexual performance for monetary considerations for whatever purpose, nor do I have the inclination to poll the industry and it's actors....
...I generally quote those within the industry willing to give their perspective, I feel the most understanding can be achieved by listening to the opinions from those in the know, on the inside, willing to speak the truth as they see it... and leave us to decide for ourselves.

That's fine, as far as it goes, but, given that you've acknowledged that they're giving the truth as they see it, it's hard to know just how far that is. However, I don't see that you've gathered the opinions of those in the know. You've quoted Kelly Wells, who may have been telling the truth. On the other hand, she may have been using sarcasm to make a point which escaped you. Either way, her definition of self does not define the industry.
You've quoted from Lazarus' post, but you've skipped the previous paragraph, which states the facts, in preference for his opinion. Granted, his example does call certain aspects of porn making into question, but it doesn't apply to how most of porn is made and, in the end, it just leaves us arguing over the definition of art. Therefore, my opinion remains the same, to whit, you're overreaching.
So? Like I said, it looks to me like you're overreaching. If you want to convince me otherwise then offer more evidence than one person's opinion.
To be honest, I wasn't being all that sarcastic. I have sex on camera for money. Just because I enjoy the sex and some label me as a "star" still doesn't take away from the fact that I get paid for sex. Labels don't affect me. Call it what you will.

actually, it complicates things. see, a woman is a prostitute if she has INTERCOURSE, but a man is if he engages in SEXUAL ACTS. so if you're a woman if you give a handjob for money, that's not prostitution.
and how do we define 'base' and 'unworthy'? should i look up those definitions?

Hmmm..seems most people are whores. So deal with it. At least real prostitutes don't try and hide the fact that they have to kiss other people's asses in order to survive.

The whole speech is a piece of sustained irony: Polonius, a pompous old politico, has no advice to offer his son beyond an absurdly long stream of empty platitudes which he ends with "this above all: to thine own self be true", effectively contradicting everything that he has just said.
"To thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man."
is especially ironic given that Hamlet spends most of the play deceiving everybody to avenge his father's murder (i.e., in order to be true to himself).
+1 If you're a wage-slave, you prostitute yourself in some fashion. We all have our price tag and our limits.
When writing some elegant embedded code, it's the geek equivalent of that hot soccer-mom down the road paying me for a good seeing to (yeah, I wish), because her husband hasn't been able to get it up for the past three months. OTOH, wrestling with Microsoft APIs is more akin to servicing a nasty bitch with a BMI of 60 and serious personal hygiene problems.
