I can't find the home button which is no big deal but it appears you have to start a new tab to get to your start page. Another difference, from Firefox, is that chrome runs a separate process for each tab. Maybe this will be more stable. It also runs faster than FF. That's a good thing. It also gives you more viewing area because it doesn't have a title bar or a status bar, that is fixed. That's my first impression. What's your's? [Link]

I bet they focused a lot of energy on quickly rendering ajax/ screen events. I think their goal is to make the browser be the interface to their hosted applications, ala thin client computing. [Link]

This is a serious challenge to the desktop application model. I use Google Apps a little and will be watching for improvements that eliminate the need for the bloated MS Office. It's being removed as most who did read the EULA (all 4 of you!) determined it was too draconian. But basically, it read originally that by using Chrome, you granted Google "a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license" to any and all CONTENT you posted via their browser. That means that any blog entry, anything you ever typed via their web browser, they could commercialize. [Link]

Click to expand If FF isn't stable or reasonably fast on your system, I suggest you get a new system. Or, perhaps, reinstall your OS and update all your drivers. I have not had FF crash on me in so long I can't remember the last time. It's rock solid on my system. As for my opinion of Chrome? No. I'm not touching it. FF is good enough and it works just fine. Google is a good search engine. Firefox is a good browser. [Link]
