I've been having trouble trying to upload a festive avatar image. When I've got the image selected in the field on the uploader screen and I press upload it goes through a couple of stages and then says complete, but no code is displayed or anything and the dot is continuing to progress through the squares. I noticed something about needing to have Java script enabled and I wonder if this is the problem, but I don't really know what that means. We prefer scripts from Java and split the compound word for emphasis of this bias. Yes, the image uploader page requires your browser to run java script. If you have the noscript plugin installed that could be getting in the way. Some personal firewalls will block scripts too.
Oh yeah, I've been trying to upload in a forum post for now. I've just looked into my Internet Explorer safety settings area and everything under 'scripting' is enabled, but under Java, which is a different heading, various things are enabled and disabled or have different security levels.
I was fiddling around with some stuff there, I think those last two posts might not have made any sense, sorry about that. I've actually tried doing this in both the avatar section of my profile and in the forum post one and have had the same result. I think I'm in Internet Explorer, I'm on AOL and have never had to select a browser, I think it's automatically Internet Explorer on AOL.
^^ I'd say be sure to resize your pics you want to post to 600 pixels wide first - if they are larger than that. Otherwise they uploader system will resize it and for whatever reason doesn't do as good of a job. Looks like that might be the problem with that pic. Edited by - heynow on 9/26/2008 11:36:30 PM
Probably not an option, but is it possible to center an image in a post? I don't see it listed in the Text Markup options, but I just thought I'd ask to see if there's some super secret forum code.
