Majority of women doing porn (not all of them) seem to have the following types of parental backgrounds: 1. Extremely conservative and/or religious parents. Some are really religious bordering on cult-like behavior. Typically one of the more "fringe" religions like mormons. The father is very controlling and he won't let the girl be a "normal" teen. Sometimes the girl has been home schooled because the parents don't believe in those overly liberal schools. As soon as she turns 18 years old she is out of there assuming she has not runaway before that. At this point she does a complete 180 now that she is free of her parents control and takes it to the extreme doing just about everything she was prevented from doing before. Sometimes its not religious but too much control over her. She may have even been an A student in school because her parents demanded it. 2. Raised by single or divorced mother with little or no contact from father. This covers a lot of women not just pornstars. But pornstars are typically more emotionally scarred from this. Ever watch Maury Povich show with the young girls out of control? They typically have low self-esteem and seek out male attention to feel loved. That's why a lot of pornstars end up with loser suitcase pimp boyfriends. They don't know what its like to have a nice square guy for boyfriend. 3. Irresponsible parents. Typically alcoholics or drug users. They are just bad parents. Some let their kids do anything some don't care some encourage them to do bad (e.g. drugs). Some may have abused them physically or sexually. It is a myth that every pornstar has been sexually abused but some have been. I could name some well known pornstars as examples for each case above but I don't want to start a flame war or get edited. Just read their interviews and they tell you themselves. You will see most fit into one of the categories above.
Yeah it would suck to find out she turned out to be in a porn. Somewhere along the way she got fucked up, probably most likely do to poor or absent parenting.
If my daughter told me she wanted to do porn I would definitely feel like I messed up somewhere along the way, but I should already have an idea of my failures if she didn't do well in school and didn't have any quality plans for her future. I dont think anyone is sugesting porn is shameful,but I still dont believe its comparable to other profession. Yes porn performers come from a wide rangeof backgrounds,but dysfunctional backgrounds seem to nbe more prelevant in the industry. Example 20% of girls in the U.S have been molested as children,but in porn that rate is much higher closer to 50%(depending on which studies you read) Now if half your workforce were molested as children,that at very least means your industry is not comparable to others. This does not mean porn or sex for money is inherently wrong,but we do not live in a perfect world and have to accept it for what it is. I don't believe you can make broad generalizations about the girls who entered the business nor criticize their upbringing when there is no conclusive evidence or study yet made that I know of that addresses this topic. A segment of our population like to belittle others who choose different paths in life when it is none of their business what any of us choose to do with our lives. Most of the girls who enter the adult business do so for a short period and move on. The only thing I can say about a lot of the girls is they seem to be fiercely independent people who are not easily swayed by public opinion. In comparison, consider spending your working life at 50 hours a week, sitting in a tiny cubicle, staring at a computer screen non stop like a large portion of our society does for 40 years and you tell me just how glamorous that is. There is something inherently wrong with parents arranging/managing the sex career of their daughter. I don't even see why this thread draws so much emotion yet it is entertaining to read the posts as people have a lot of different opinions. Consider instead this scenario related to young sex itself, that plays out in tens of thousands of cases throughout the world in everyday life... I think it's all rather silly. Most daughtrrs end up porn stars to some extent. The only difference is they don't do it publicly. I'm far more worried about an unwanted pregnancy or them hooking up with an abusive prick than if they're having alot of sex.
