The other day i tried to open an account with Private at Home. However their site wouldn't allow me to fully register all my details including my CC details.

However it did allow me to add 2 DVD's to my wish list, but after many failed attempts to register my details i canceled my account.

Guess what has turned up in the post today. Its one of the DVD's in my wish list.

I am tempted to keep it because i did cancel my account and didn't enter any credit card details.

Keep it. If they contact you asking for it back make damned sure they reimburse you for the shipping before sending it back - this is their mistake and if they want it back it has to be at their expense.
If you never completed the transaction legally this item is unsolicited and so the onus is fully on them to retrieve the item.

I wish I could find a store that won't take my credit card, but sends me DVD's anyway.

I'd earn a lot fewer frequent flyer miles from my credit card, but I'd have a lot more money at the end of the month.

I'm going to offer a different opinion: You attempted to order the two DVDs and apparently the order for one of them went through Private's system even though the system screwed up. Were it me, I'd drop an email to Private telling them of the system problem and its result. And, were I Private, I'd send you an email back thanking you for pointing out the problem and telling you to keep the DVD for your effort.

Just my take on things....

I guess there will be teething problems with any new site of this nature. I emailed them to ask a few questions, using the link provided on the site. The email was returned as undeliverable...

I'd say send it back, if only for the goodwill. Still, they do know where you live. The small print on the site also does make clear they will take action on those who abuse the service. Not wanting to scare you or anything.

This seems like a no brainer. Since you tried to buy it, I'll assume that you actually wanted it. In fact, you'd still be willing to pay for it if they asked for the money. (It's not like you didn't try to pay for it originally.) So why would anyone think that the thing to do here would be to send it back? Just so you could buy it "properly" and have it sent back to you again?

Keep it, and watch it, and if they ever ask you to pay for it go ahead and do so.

If you want to generate goodwill and inform them of it, offering to pay for it, that's fine. But don't send it back!
