I ask this because Miss Kelli of Bluebird seems to think Brazzers are the devil incarnate in terms of pirated content and that Brazzers' actions are damaging other studios.
I personally think that Brazzers are much more sinned against than anything else. Miss Kelli has told me not to comment on something I know nothing about (what a great PR person for Bluebird she is). I simply think she is misinformed.
Here's her Twitter - see her exchange with Keiran Lee - https://twitter.com/MissKelliXXX
And this commment on Babeshows.com
http://babeshows.com/footballers-wives-2nd-half-coming-soon-to-glambirds-t-6341-6.html
Kelli is great but I think that someone has fed her a very wrong line on Brazzers, unless they are indeed the devil incarnate.....I think not.

Ok, thanks for that. I still don't think it lets Kelli off the hook, though I wouldn't blame her for misunderstanding what is going on.
I see tube sites posting Brazzers material as soon as it comes out on the pay site. Is it simply they have so many paying members that it doesn't matter?

Step 1: open a bunch of tube sites that show other people's videos for free.
Step 2: use the money you're making off of these tube sites, put it together with the money you're making off of your subscription sites and other business ventures, and buy pretty much all the tube sites you don't already own.
Step 3: run the tube sites so well that people don't go anywhere but to them to get their porn. Now everyone who makes porn no longer makes any money.
Step 4: smile, because even though some of your own vids end up on the tube sites as well, it doesn't matter because you make money whether people watch them on your site or on the tube site, because you own them both.
Step 5: Now that you have more money than everyone else in porn, why not buy their companies as well? (See: Brazzers just bought Digital Playground.) If they refuse to sell to you, offer to pay almost every single one of their employees far more, so they all come over to you, effectively buying their company anyway. (See: Brazzers buying out most of Jules Jordan's employees.)
It's pretty tough not to see them as the devil incarnate if you work in porn.

Brazzers is the worst thing ever to happen to porn. They play dirty and they play to win -- I wouldn't put even murder past them if they thought it would get them what they wanted. I hope Brazzers gets their dick and nuts handed to them in Vegas. Better yet, their owner should get it up the ass by Marc Wallice sans condom!

IMHO, in a perfect world, the government would enforce anti-trust laws in the porn industry, just like any other industry.
In a perfect world, Brazzers would be broken up into "Baby Brazzers", just like AT&T was, years ago, when they got too big for their britches.
In the real world, the government doesn't give a shit about the porn consumer or the fate of small producers.

If this is true, I agree, but all the Tube sites post Brazzers/Reality Kings/Naughty America and Bangbros stuff immediately. Bluebird stuff comes much later, if at all. Surely Brazzers etc are the biggest losers.
I suspect a big amount of money could be made by Brazzers suing Pornlaw, Kelli and others who have made unfounded accusations. We'll see what happens.

Brazzers doesn't lose at all in this situation, because they still make money off people watching their scenes on the tube sites. The other companies, on the other hand, make nothing at all from it.

How are you missing the point that Manwin, Brazzer's parent company, owns the tubes... Therefore they are not losing anything by posting their own content on them. Tube sites do generate revenue, whether that is through advertising, affiliate programs or buying/selling bandwith.
When you post someone else's content to your own tubesites and do not pay a licensing fee for that privilege, they lose. You get free content, well until you get a DMCA notice from the true copyright holder - then wait 3 days and upload it again to start the process over...

I think people overestimate the effect of tube sites. There's a whole bunch of free porn on the interwebs from the last 3 decades out there, and anybody with a cam can make more. The only thing Brazzers is guilty of is acknowledging that if they weren't the portal for it, then somebody else would be.
To get people to pay for porn, you have to consistantly produce good product, and no tube site does that. This site itself is filled with copyrighted pictures that would have had pornographers up in arms when Playboy and Hustler were battling it out. Today nobody bats an eyelid. I would suggest that low-res, cut clips, mostly crap, old, amateur, ad-ridden, unnavigable, unsearchable tube sites are no threat to the consumer looking for quality product.
And Brazzers /did/ produce quality product for my money. However like any company that gets too big, they have lost focus. Quality has suffered. They try to please everybody, and end up pleasing nobody.
I'm liking the stuff Bobby Manila is directing for Naughty America and Mile High since he left Brazzers in 2008. Shelby Black is also getting better at giving up on close-up penetration shots. Dislike the passionless choreographed features Brett Brando has done for Brazzers, and Brett is probably what put me off Naughty America when he was working for them.
Finding what directors did what for who, is a challenge in itself!

I came here to laugh at tards, but holy shit, Brazzers bought Digital Playground. Since I have watched only one DP video, that makes no current difference to me, but I wonder which of the studios or directors I like will be next.

What does "ripping off" and "piracy" have to do with one another? They're two totally different things. You're either making a case for one or the other. "Pirated content" means that they are physically stealing material from other companies. (?) You're seriously confused but Brazzers from day one has had original, unique series/scenes featuring great performers and has provided great porn. They're not treading on anyone's territory.

It's never mentioned that tubes have stuff that is totally unavaillable elsewhere.
Stuff that I would have paid $100 for 20 years ago from a Times Square back room.

One can break into your home and repeatedly steal all your food to give to other people for free. That's better because it's now free, right?

I was just watching the Mike John/Adrianna Luna scene in the recent POV Pervert 15 and one of the complaints he mentions along with tube sites and the economy was Brazzers. I didn't get it. I know some people quibble about the content but I hadn't heard anything bad about that company before. I'll have to do my homework then.
For the record, I bought the POV Pervert DVD (great as always) and Adrianna Luna is a hott hott hottt!

If the Vivids and DPs of this world hadn't ripped porn fans off for years with tame scenes, dodgy/false box covers and the like, they would have a loyal following and Brazzers would have no traction.
The porn business model has been pretty much sucky for its entire history - essentially relying on the fact that porn fans are a captive audience and have had no 'consumer power' thereby consistently foisting consistently inferior product upon us.
I'm no fan of Brazzers but if they're eating other pornographers' lunches I actually have no particular sympathy for those other companies.

The fact that porn doesn't pay royalties to talent deprives them of any moral high ground vis a vis the tubes.

Nonsense, nothing on the tubes hasn't been available among the grey market and collectors. In fact, much is still available from those sources that aren't up on the tubes, torrents and rapidshare are the preferred method for collectors.

That's like saying people overestimate the importance of search engines. The torrent sites dominate search engine listings. That's the problem. Websites cannot exist without search engine traffic.

I wasn't talking about torrents and file-sharing sites. They are what hurt the industry IMO, much more so than tube sites. Brazzers don't own any torrent or file-sharing sites AFAIK.

I disagree. With the filesharing sites, unless you pay the $10 a month, it takes like an hour to download a scene of any decent length or quality. And there's still a bit (though not much) technical skill required to use a torrent (as in, your average computer user would still need to set it up, it's usually not just download and go). With a tube, it's just find, hit play, and go. It's still the easiest way to pirate content. If the tubes got shut down, then you'd actually have to work to pirate content, which would place it primarily in the realm of the "hardcore" pirates (i.e. the people who never want to pay for anything).

This is the exact reason Brazzers' parent company, Manwin, is vehemently opposed to the Dot.XXX domain. They do not allow tube sites, torrents or other illegal file-sharing sites. If someone puts one a page with a .xxx address, they shut it down immediately. If porn switches to the .xxx it will mean the end of Manwin/Brazzers' free cash-cow tube sites, which is why they are suing the ICM Registry & ICANN over Dot.XXX
Manwin Permanently Bans All Business with .XXX TLD
They claim it's because of "anti-competitive business practice" but the real reason is because Dot.XXX will shut down their illegal tube sites.

This explains a lot. One thing it explains is how Brazzers has been able to maintain its status as one of the biggest porn production companies around even though their videos suck. When a large percentage of your revenue is generated by other means, then it obviously doesn't matter how bad your videos are.
Brazzers is the Wal-Mart of porn. By that, it's a big company that makes a lot of money and puts its competitors out of business, even though everyone hates them and their product is crap.

^^ "They" is the Dot.XXX domain. Like I said in the original post, if someone posts unauthorized copyrighted material on a .xxx page, Dot.XXX will remove it.
Dot.XXX only has authority over pages with a .xxx
They have no authority over the .com domain.

^I understood the essence of your post. I'm inquisitive as to the mechanics/logistics of who's doing it and how they accomplish it. It would require an army of websufers to constantly surf everything on the .xxx domain and click every link and view every video and every photo on every website. Sounds like a monumental task, not to mention a costly one and more boring than even a Chinese factory job.

Uploading files day in and day out may be boring but it is suspected that most videos on Manwin's tube sites are actually uploaded by paid employees. That is also probably why the file goes right back up after a DMCA notice is served on them.
As far as I am concerned Manwin and Brazzers can go suck Marc Wallice's diseased dick! They have put thousands out of work at legitimate companies and are going to cause the failure of many porn producers at this rate. Too bad SOPA has so many unintended consequences, it would put the tubes out of business and their owners in bankruptcy court. I am not a .XXX supporter but they did something right with not allowing tubes, torrents and rapidshare sited on their domain.

^So the people behind DP get paid some extra money. It's certainly not a sin - remind me why should we be bothered by this? A previous post stated that Brazzers has 'lured' employees from Jules Jordan by paying them more money. How sad - for who, again?
I think we need to be clear - porno companies are not in the business to provide a public service. They are businesses so, ultimately, they exist for people to make money. As I've stated previously, mostly this has been achieved by ripping off porn fans with over-priced inferior product; let me count the ways - dull scenes, bad sound, poor editing, false advertising, not paying royalties/residuals to the talent, hotel room sets, inept screenplays, repetitious compilations, etc. ad nauseam...
It's pretty obvious the people behind these companies don't care about their customers. Forever porn consumers have had no power since there is no social kudos to be gained by attempting to make this craptastic state of affairs a public issue. And that will continue and more pornbois will run their sophomoric companies sucking money out of the lives of us cum-crazy fans until they get paid off by a competitor or bail out via Chapter 11...and then it will start again...
If Brazzers is attempting to monopolize the industry and engaging in anti-competitive behavior then why not file an anti-Trust application, if it's such a great matter of public interest? How about you PornLaw?
I repeat I am no fan of Brazzers - their scenarios play out like a poorly conceived Penthouse letter for a start. I imagine companies that care about their product (eg. GFF, Triangle) are under no threat from Brazzers/Manwin at all.

This may hold the key to creating a better quality product: If consumers researched reviews and companies before they purchased, the money spent on junk may dry up. Of course, you will always have those who make their purchasing decisions based upon a box cover.
You are correct, Sexy Sadie, this situation will continue because a few companies don't care about quality. It reminds me of what Mark Twain said, "everybody talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it."

The interesting stat to know is how many tube watchers would pay for a porn website anyway. I believe the tube sites interest the casual porn viewer but not one who would pay for a better service. I pay for websites as I would like at least DVD quality picture and sound and not needing to search thousands of videos for something in my genre to watch. If tube sites closed tomorrow I don't think there will be a massive increase in online subs. Problem is a lot of people don't like to give bank details and some porn sites (not as bad as it once was) mislead customers in content and pricing.

Slightly off topic but does anyone know what the deal is with Brazzers not having a DVD site like they did with JJV? The only way I know of anything coming out is checking out the DVD Release calendar here.

Those who worry about this tend to be the older pre-internet crowd, not the younger post-internet population.
