I have a web cam (it's is a decent model Logitech incase that matters, I imagine it consumes a bit of power), an mp3 player, a still camera and a USB mouse? Is it bullshit or should I unplug my stuff if I want the machine to work faster. Obviously unplugging the mouse is out of the question, unless ps/2 is faster, I don't know. And the web cam is not possible either because it makes me go through an insanely long re-install process whenever I remove it. AM I just being paranoid and over-reacting to advice on hardware forums? Thanks folks. I really like the Tech Talk forum. I learn many useful things. Especially through your links. [Link] |

If the webcam is on all the time, and if you're running some software approximating iTunes w/ your mp3 player those could be hogging resources. If you are treating the camera and mp3 player as storage devices they won't harm a thing. |
