I may be rather cynical about the trajectory of IR (referencing what I posted earlier), however a very positive thing I've noticed is a definite uptick in the number of solid black male performers coming through. For quite a while it seemed like the industry was leaning too heavily on performers like Rico and Wesley Pipes because they played into the caricature that companies wanted to film (thuggish stereotypes). Now with Blacked and other companies, performers like Rob Piper and Flash are becoming more of the norm. Which means a better quality scene. And of course there's Prince who has seemed to become the go-to guy for a starlets "first IR scene"

^I don't see how Rico is anymore "thuggish" than Prince (his frequent scene partner) or Rob.
EDIT: Come to think of it, when I look back on the scenes that Flash shot for Dogfart, I also don't see how they were less "thuggish" than Rico's.

I thought Wesley Pipes was diagnosed with terminal cancer and another person named Jack Napier was in a serious car accident. That might have led to both not appearing anymore...

Well that's more of gripe with the way Dogfart shoots their scenes (although Wesley was quite simply obnoxious regardless of company), but it a lot of scenes I've watched that had Rico they were often more mechanical. Whereas performers like Rob, Flash, and Prince at least are more passionate in their scenes.

^About passion I am somewhat in agreement with you, but how passionate a performer is during a scene depends to a degree on the kind of scene he's shooting. For example, when I look at Flash's pre-contract work outside of Blacked, I don't see a big difference between what he was doing and what Rico usually does. Of course his work for Blacked is different, but isn't Lansky asking him for something different?

Exactly. Sites like Dogfart aren't necessarily going to ask for passion in their scenes from the talent. I think Rico is more than capable of putting out a "passionate" scene, it's just a matter of whether or not the companies that shoot that type of scene are going to hire him.

Well that goes back to my initial point of sites like Blacked being better for IR enthusiasts who want to see more passion in the scenes. However, I would quibble with the idea that all of the performers showing up in Dogfart scenes are of equal capability. Now to be fair, I deactivated my membership with them a couple a years ago so I haven't really seen what they're putting out as of recent. But, I recall a number of scenes with performers like Flash (I specifically am thinking of Katie Summers' scene) would be much more engaged with their counterpart. Conversely, I can't think of a single scene that I've watched with Rico (including other companies) where he didn't go with his usual approach of mechanically hammering away at his costar.

at one point you could say that. but now it seems that "first interracials" is more widespread among black male talent. Prince Yahshua still get a lot of first IRs but now Mandingo, Isiah Maxwell, Lexington Steele, and Flash and Jason Brown have all gotten their share of "first IRs" among female talent.

And it was the first ever interracial movie to be nominated as a star showcase instead of just an IR release!

I have been appreciating the shift and trends in IR pornography. I had seen just a few porn videos in total before I discovered Blacked about a year ago. (Which technically doesnt make me the greatest contributor to this very thread, but it says something, as the friendliness and attractivness of the current IR production towards female viewership). That being said, I have been displeased when I came across this, which to me is a sign, that some people in the industry view IR through ill perspective. https://twitter.com/kj_fetishmodel/status/686640350652334080

I would really love to work with Rob Piper again - he's great. It really depends on what movies I shoot under my contract but I'll do my best to fit it in :)

Let ask someone this Why can't contract girls for contract companies don't shoot scene with black men, I don't understand why. Is it racist or they don't like black guys with there contract girls or do they have something against them. Now Carter said on her thread it depend on her contract but they will tell her no, it would be a waste because her scene with Rob Piper was good. I here that Stoya on a YouTube video she wanted to do a IR scene with Mr. Marcus when she was at Digital but told her no, and threaten to leave if she doesn't get her scene. But those contract companies are missing out on IR, or money on the table, what if Wicked or Digital open an IR studio for there contract girls to shoot IR, now it would be something to go up against Blacked.com and Dark X.

Hmm I see why but why they can't they open up to a new group fan base who watch IR in all. IR fans would be upset if Carter didn't do another IR scene because of her contract when her showcase came out it open up a new group fans I never see Jenna Jameson had a black fan base because she didn't do black guys. As for Asa when she sign with Wicked I don't watch her scene now not because of the IR because all of these scenes have rain coats which means condom.

Because in doing so they would risk alienating the customers they already have. Meanwhile, they may not gain enough new fans to offset any losses that would occur. It's a gamble, and those studios have maintained their success by playing it safe.
I also don't watch Asa's Wicked content, but that's besides the point. What matters is that she is opening up Wicked to IR.

You mean those racist white fans who don't want to see those girls with a black man, that is BS. I have a friend who is white, and he have some porn DVD's. Most of his porn are from companies like Evil Angel, Elegant Angel, Brazzers, and Jules but never from Wicked or Digital Playground. He owns few IR titles from Jules Jordan and Evil Angel, he doesn't ever care from skin color of the dudes dick is. Beside Asa who else at Wicked is open to do IR anyway or do they still have contract girls.

Not everyone wants to watch the same things. Many of the people on this site are hardcore anal fans but not everyone likes watching anal. Many people here have a strong preoccupation with IR sex but not everyone wants to watch black men with white girls. If VIVID, DIGITAL PLAYGROUND, or whoever has an audience that doesn't like or care about seeing IR porn is that so horrible that IR needs to be forced on them? There's plenty of IR being shot without the need to want to or expect everyone to shoot it. I'm pretty sure that part of the porn audience doesn't go around worrying that DOGFART,BLACKED or WCP doesn't shoot white on white porn. There's tons and tons of porn out there...let that audience have what they enjoy watching.

To be fair, Samantha Saint shot an all-IR showcase with Wicked as well (and shot her first IR scene while under contract with Wicked before they signed Asa). Of the companies that have contract performers, they seem to be the ones that are most open to their performers shooting IR (and the two that don't have been around for over a decade and are arguably more directors than they are performers at this point).

^and^^ Look, I myself have a biracial daughter, so I get where you're coming from, but what matters is how performers are racially categorized within the industry at large. Look at the scene descriptions and tags attached to the scenes those performers are in. Look at the dvd titles. My opinion doesn't matter and neither does your's. How those two performers personally choose to identify also doesn't matter, not when it comes to porn.

And let's not bring up the crazy idea that race isn't a either/or proposition. A person can identify as more than one race. You can be both instead of having to be neither.

So we should be silent about it and continue to let people be classified under the racist one drop rule? I don't get why they are considered black yet you can't say that they're white. Is the mentality that the white race is pure and you can only be white if both parents are white? I don't ever see any mixed girls get called white. And it's like you're not supposed to talk about it or bring it up.

OK moongaze you gotta calm down brother.
It is not exclusive to the porn world that people with mixed ancestry are often considered black. Many of them consider themselves black.
What do you say to those people of mixed ancestry who call themselves black? Do you say that they should be ashamed of themselves, as you've just said to s poster above? Or do you honour their wishes to consider themselves as they feel most comfortable?
Remember that almost no one is truly black or truly white this far into our shared human history. Even amongst the black population in sub-saharan Africa, many people share some European DNA. Often a small amount, mind you. But it's there.
Did you see the story of the white racist guy from North Dakota who found out that he was like 18% black or something? Everyone whose family has been in America (North, South or Central) long is probably part black and part white (and probably a few other things too). Just different amounts of each.
If you're going to be up-in-arms about Teanna Trump being called black, you should be up-in-arms about every Afro-American or Afro-Caribbean person (like me) being called black, because surely at this point, 400 years or so since the beginning of the slave trade, we all have some white European DNA in us.
So, by your logic, there are no black porn performers. But there are probably very few white ones as well. If that's the standard, then fine. It is scientifically accurate. But you can't then cherry-pick and say "how can they call Teanna Trump black???", when you're OK with Ana Foxxx being called black. You have to be just as outraged at Ana being called black. And for that matter, just as outraged at Stormy Daniels being called white. None of us are 100% anything. Except human.

Bs..You can't be both. The person is mixed saying otherwise is excluding the other race parent and makes no sense. And how many times is this ever applied to white? I've never seen mixed persons called white . they're always called black.

^^^I never said any of that. What I said is that how you as an individual choose to racially categorize those performers is irrelevant to how the industry at large chooses to categorize them. I am talking about how Cassidy and Teanna are objectively viewed within the industry, and you are talking about how they are subjectively viewed by you. If you're talking about recommending those pornstars for a website, which is more important, the latter or the former?

It's not true that every black person has white in them come on. I just don't understand why its so hard to say that you're mixed?
How do you compare Ana who has strong black features with a person who obviously to your eye doesn't have strong black features.? You can easily tell with girls like Teena and cassidy that they are mixed and they even list that their parents are different races but with Ana the only thing you can do is to assume that there is white in her family history. I'm not going to assume that every black person had someone raped and impregnated by a white in their family line.
Those mixed race people that call themselves black should be ashamed. Have more respect for your parents and your make up.
And I'm not going to assume that race mixing has occurred to every single family line in history

You said it doesn't matter which means we shouldn't say anything about it. What we think does matter and if more people voiced their displeasure at the double standards and illogic maybe things woukd change.
So yes I want to see cassidy Banks and Teena trump , two big booty white girls, in the next blacked. Make it happen

When will we see a Blacked clone that isn't tattoo phobic? As much as I laud the Blacked effect, the exclusion of pornstars who have many tattoos or large or prominent tattoos from "new IR" is very disappointing. I had high hopes for Dark X, but it's become clear that Mason decided that Dark X won't be the site to buck the trend. Whatever differences the Blacked clones may have from the mother site, they all seem to agree that tattoos are best avoided.

You're not understanding his point. Like at all.
He's saying that there's a very good argument that no one whose family dates back to the US for more than say 80 years is 100% any race. There's been so much mixing over the years that that's a nearly impossible thing to happen. So the problem with your argument is a matter of degrees. So, okay, anyone who has a parent that isn't black isn't black. What about a grandparent? What about a great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandparent? How far back does the person have to be for you to be able to consider yourself black?

^ Yeah that's pretty much what I was saying. Not sure why he wasn't able to get it.
To moongaze: no one is saying it's hard to say that you're mixed. People do it all the time. But why should they be ashamed if they choose to identify with one race or the other? Maybe they were only raised by the parent of that race or something, and they therefore feel more comfortable identifying with the one race. People have a lot of reasons for doing all sorts of things. Don't be so quick to judge. Telling people they should be ashamed of themselves is really, really harsh.
But all of that isn't the point here. The point is this: you're angry that Teeana is being listed as black in porn movies, when she says she has one black and one white parent. But why are you angry about that?
Is it that you don't want certain girls in your "black porn" or your "black woman/white man porn"? Is it that you're angry that there isn't a genre of porn for "mixed race"? Are you hoping for more "clearly black" women to be hired for "black porn" or "black woman/white man porn"?
What is the solution you're looking for here?

We should distinguish between customers who aren't interested in IR scenes and customers who are against IR scenes. So if Vivid, for example, shot an IR movie or scene, the first group of customers would simply not buy it, while the latter might stop buying from Vivid entirely or would at least stop buying content starring the "contract girls" who appeared in the movie or scene. I believe that companies are primarily concerned about the latter group of customers, not the prior.
Blacked and Dogfart are specifically IR fetish sites, and in that regard are not really analogous to the studios we are discussing. WCP Club's site description says "Looking for the most awesome black on black and interracial porn?"

Well IDK about evolution, but it's definitely an IR Renaissance. I just checked the XRentDVD charts, and 8 out of the top 10 rentals was IR releases. I think on the sales chart it was 6 out of 10 which were IR.
On the AdultDVDEmpire chart, Blacked by itself is crushing the top 25 sellers. 7 out of the top 25 are Blacked titles, and at least 10 of them feature IR, e.g. Ava's All In, Angela vol 2.
And DarkX is off to a really good start with their releases.
IR has long been valued as one of the better selling genres, along with the MILF and teen genres, and savvy directors and producers knew how to deliver it. But I think it stagnated a bit, for which I blame Dogfart which really shouldn't be anywhere near as popular as it is if you know how that brand started, owing most of its success to stealing legit porn studio's content.
The ass-kicking that Lansky and co are handing them is waaaay overdue. I couldn't be happier for the success Lansky is having now because he's actually a craftsman with vision.
And let's not forget Mimefreak's work with ArchAngel. Their recently launched site's popularity is steadily climbing. I'm glad he's around kicking ass because I want to see the gonzo style stay hot.

She actually shot two, the first featured her first IR, and the second one was all IR. I dont know if the comment is still there, but on the Wicked site for the scene with Chanel Preston, Johnathan Morgan left a comment how that scene was one of the hottest scenes he ever shot and that Chanel and Samantha displayed some of the best chemistry he ever witnessed personally. Also should note, in terms of Asa pushing the boundaries, in the Elvis parody Vivid put out around 2010-2011, Vivid was still shooting with condoms but she was able to shoot her scene with Jessica Bangkok and Tyler Knight without one.

My only problem with Blacked's success insofar as Dogfart is concerned (I'm a longtime member), is that part of Dogfart's response has been to become more pc. I'm not the least bit happy about that. Personally I'd like to see someone take a gamble and shoot traditional race play fetish IR with high production values.

It's also important to note that the primary reason why mixed race folks will more often than not identify as black is because historically speaking that has been their categorization. The history of race in this country clearly illustrates that a person's racial status has been based upon their ability to "pass" as white. (see: The One Drop Rule). Socially speaking a person who is biracial with black and white parentage will be regarded as black by others irrespective of what they self-identify as.

I totally understand that. IMO PC is horrendous. I've never taken issue with any IR for some PC cause. It's about quality to me.
So I dont want to see any brand neutered (or spayed) in terms of edginess, kinkiness, or straight up freakiness.
I think you and I agreed before that HushHush was a great brand and not afraid of pushing the edges and being in your face with provocative balls to the wall attitude. To that end, I could always respect Dogfart for being unapologetically incendiary and provocative. That should not change about them. All I have longed for from the DF brand is upping their technical quality, visual fidelity, production design, i.e. better camera direction, better photography, better locations, etc.
So I think we're on the same wavelength here. Up the quality, but retain the edge. Maybe the best of both worlds will be blending Blacked production values and BlacksonBlondes freakiness.
I think we can be optimistic that the best of both world's arrives across the board. I'd like to see Blacked be more nasty and freaky and provocative, and Dogfart continue to up their production values.
Out of curiosity, which recent orgy scene did you prefer? The one from Blacked or the one from BlacksonBlondes? Both did 3v3 scenes worth checking out. Probably the one with more kissing, amirite? Honestly for me, it wasn't that easy to pick one over the other. Blacked nailed the shots I wanted to see, but to their credit, BoB put up arguably the best scene I've ever seen from them. I rarely have much to praise about BoB, but in this case I think I preferred the gonzo scene because it felt like the old-school HushHush days where the performers more naturally decided what to do. I liked how Sarah and Rico especially were taking charge and getting into it.
It would be dope if Blacked could somehow get their top notch production values to encompass an organic gonzo style scene reminiscent of HushHush and Justin Slayer productions, with more passion, nasty freakiness.
Just my 2 cents.

Don't lose hope with DarkX just yet. I am still thinking they may have to adapt a bit more, because for the moment everyone is chasing Blacked, but with so much competition and so many imitators, several sites pretty much trying their best to emulate Blacked, I think the next one to strike gold will be the one who finds a way to seize an untapped vein which may very well be what you and I are talking about.
Eventually one of these sites will plant their own flag. I think with gonzo being Mason's strength, she still brings a unique and compelling draw to DarkX for me.
At any rate, we have to appreciate that quality is on the rise across the board for IR.

^If Dark X had arrived earlier, I would certainly be a member now, but since I've already signed up for more than one other ink-phobic Blacked clone I'll have to pass until Mason begins offering something that those other sites aren't by being ink-friendly. That said, I'm glad that Dark X exists. "New IR" is a good thing, but in my opinion it will be even better once performers aren't excluded because of their tattoos.

The Blacks on Blondes' orgy is out already? I need to check that site more regularly, lol. With the raceplay elements getting watered down and with so much great IR competition to choose from, I have to admit that I would have probably dropped Dogfart already if they hadn't began to regularly shoot gangbangs, and now an orgy! Those are smart moves on their part. Now if only they could shoot more b/g content reminiscent of Aria Alexander's bob scene...

When Dogfart started updating Zebra Girls with new content it made me very happy. However I will say that it needs to be a little more harder like the original scenes where the black girls were more dominant. I am still a bigger fan of Dogfart than Blacked mainly for the scenes being much more hardcore, I never really cared for the stereotypical plots.
