higher compression rate = poorer image quality.
normal bitmaps have no compression so they should always be larger than JPGs.

I often save covers to my PC so i can remember which ones i want to buy. I have found if i resave the photo in Micosoft paint as a jpeg it shrinks it to about 60 kb in size. Why is that? Are the RLD jpegs really bitmaps in disguise? [Link] |
