I was told by the attorney that it could take up to a year to be dropped from the suit personally, and the suit itself against the organization would take well over a year. Fortunately, the suit never happened, as it would have been frivolous (...not that this isn't b/c it is...), but the point is that lawyers notoriously drag their feet. In dealing with them in an official capacity for between 5 and 6 years, I found them to be painfully slow and, often, just as unresponsive... There will always be operators who try to take advantage of legal loopholes. If we want to 'fight' these people, it's about educatiing site developers to assess appropriate risks at the 'top of the cliff', put in place measures to eliminate/minimize exposure to the risks and keep up to date with the changing legal environment.
