The Summer 2003 issue of Bust (the only women's magazine I still care about) includes an article on this very topic. According to Dara Corwell's "Boys on Film" (pp. 110-111), women watch gay porn for the following reasons:

(1) The action is hotter (more hardcore and to the point).
(2) The men are more attractive.
(3) It lets us peek at what goes unexplored in our own boudoirs.
(4) The performers are on more of an equal playing field.
(5) The camera focus is on the men, not women.

Of those points, I agree with #2 and strongly agree with #3 and #5.

I think #1 is off base (the hetero gonzo I've seen is every bit as hardcore and to the point). I'm not quite sure what Corwell means by #4; if she's referring to versatile men who meet each other as equals and trade top/bottom positions, I do enjoy that. (I also like dom/sub scenarios, however, in both straight and gay porn.)

But ultimately, I suppose I really can't explain why, either. Men turn me on. Seeing men together turns me on, too.

It irks me a little that this thread has to be in the gay forum, while the companion thread "Why do you watch girl/girl?" is in the main forum. (And that's not a criticism of DenverDon's moderating; I recognize that's just how our society classifies things.) It's a double standard that I've grown to despise.
