He responded like an idiot to the actual performer he was insulting. One of the cardinal rules of ADT in general is to respect performers, and saying she doesn't enjoy porn and is boring is bad enough, but not enough by itself to get him banned. But to then double down on that statement when she comes into the thread to dispute it is asking to get banned. You don't insult performers to their face here, because at the end of the day one of the biggest reason that ADT thrives is the fact that the performers are willing to post here, and they're willing to ban people like him to make sure that continues.
seems like "no-listing" performers who go into threads and get your fans banned for no reason is a good career move. who would've thought! edit: the response that prompted him to give his views again is ten times more trolly than anything Embryonaire said. mods, can we please do something about malicious performer behavior? Obviously we want the performers to stick around, but when a performer goes into a thread of another performer with no other purpose there than to start shit, that is normally considered trolling behavior. I have zero tolerance for insulting performers. If I read your posts and you insult performers you will not get a warning. Over the last 20 years too many people have proven that warnings are a waste of time (if you don't know how to have a conversation without insults you will never learn to.) Moderators are a lot more patient than I am. None of us read everything. So please stop comparing how we handle every post that we probably haven't seen. The rules are so basic. Don't say it here if you wouldn't say it in person. This is a community where performers participate -- and read even if they don't participate. If you can't be welcoming and respectful then there are other places to spout opinions.
Respectfully, I don't think embryonaire insulted anyone and didn't say anything that is not ok to say out loud. The only thing that made this uncomfortable is the presence of the performer. People NEED to be able to talk about their opinions of performers on ADT. It might be different if he went into a certain performer's thread and wouldn't stop saying he didn't like her. But Embryonaire said an opinion about her porn, how is that insulting? Imagine me and my friend are walking on the floor of a porn convention, and my friend says that he doesn't really like scenes with Ryan Madison because he thinks they are boring. Suddenly Ryan Madison steps in front of us and starts laughing at my friend and calling him by name, and my friend says his opinion again. Then Ryan starts making a lot of noise and you are the security who notices. What do you do? I think you would probably give my friend a little caution about being more gracious but I hope you would probably tell Mr. Madison that you can't have him going around making incidents with fans! If someone comes to the booth to insult him, it's different. What would we think if a male performer went into the thread of a female that no-listed him and started shit talking? But it's not like he sought out Casey Calvert's thread to insult her and disrespect her on the forum, he was basically trying to transcribe some thoughts from Manuel's twitch stream. He editorialized in a clumsy way, but the only reason she even found the the thread in the first place was by name searching herself. Bad form on his part, absolutely. Worth a permanent ban with no warning? No, come on, that's weak.

100% agree. I'm not arguing he did zero wrong. I'm arguing that there are degrees and levels to everything and this particular form of insulting was the lowest of those degrees. Manuel very well may have said he didn't enjoy performing with her, he's said it of others. The user transcribes and maybe adds an agreement and is then kinda sarcastically commented at by a name searching performer. He reacted badly, but likely felt like his honesty in relaying info was being attacked a bit. And even then the extent of the insult was a personal preference of "boring". You really expect if performers name search outside their own thread they won't see anything as harsh as "boring"? I like the policy, but almost all policies have specific instances where they shouldn't be stringent and to me this is one of those cases. Not a good application of a well intentioned rule.
Because people seem to be trying to put their own spin on what was actually said, what he said was this:There's nothing there to insinuate that Casey being "lame and clearly not enjoying it" was Manuel's opinion, or something he was relaying that Manuel had already said. It was his opinion. He insulted her, and just because it wasn't in her thread specifically doesn't mean its okay. And again, if he'd left it alone, he might have been okay, but she came in the thread and he doubled down. On this site (and in general, when it comes to performers), you're much better off spending time talking about the ones you do like than talking about the ones you don't. And that's not to mention the statement that Casey isn't in porn anymore is straight up false.

I am struggling to imagine any entertainer in any field taking notable offense to someone online calling him or her "lame". Yes there is. That was basically the only thing that guy posted in this thread-- just straight information from Manuel's twitch streams. And I'm not trying to spin anything, I was the one who suggested he knock it off in the first place. He clearly took his cues from whatever I'm sure Manuel actually said when some user asked him on his stream what he thought of Casey Calvert. He's said worse about many other people in the industry. I just think it's kind of crummy for mods to swoop in on a thread they clearly don't follow and permanently ban someone without warning for fucking up one time. I think you made a mess of a pretty mild offense. I've said my piece, and now I'm looking forward to never thinking about this again.

But he did NOT make it clear enough, where Manuel's statements ended and where his own opinion started. That's a dangerous thing to do. If he says it the way he said, he must expect that people take it as his own opinion. Better to take the few seconds to write "Manuel thinks..." or "he said that she is.." than be sorry. And I still believe it really was his own opinion; he was not misunderstood just quoting.

This thread started in 2011 and made it to >2300 posts, before Embryonnaire started posting in it ca. March 2018 (as far as my quick search found). Why shutting it down just because one member will not post here anymore?
I still can't believe people are making such a big deal out of the words "lame" and "boring", lol. The guy was either giving his opinion or his take on Manuel's opinion - that's what he did in this thread all the time - and either way, that's not an insult to anyone. That's just stating an opinion. The dude even stated "Am I glad that I won't see her in a Manuel Ferrara production ? Yes. But I wish her nothing but the best" and somehow that's doubling down on an adult performer. Anyways, if the mods barely check this thread, I doubt anything will be done about it. Most of us think it was a really bad call. And I think it will hinder this thread because Embrynnaire was the best at giving Manuel updates in the last 3 years at least (since I began reading this topic). We should probably move on as continuing to discuss what's an insult or not is not gonna lead us anywhere. Hopefully someone that knows french and follows his twitch stream will show up again, lol.

thanks Ms. Calvert, to be clear, we are saying the mod screwed up in banning him, not saying you were wrong to come in here. since you did not ask for him to be banned and you say it doesn't bother you, it's fine to have him be reinstated, right? I am hoping the mods will just do that naturally but I am sure that if you write that you do not want him to be banned, the mod will listen to you.
^^ I am not a mod, and don't want to tell them how to do their jobs. That being said, I'm comfortable with him being reinstated if that's what the mods decide to do.

That will just naturally happen. I think this type of post actually carries things on longer b/c it feels so blind to the reason things got "off topic". The user in question directly allowed us to more deeply and thoroughly discuss the forum topic. So to come in and say 'get back to work' after making the job harder is kinda tone deaf. Everyone will 'get back to work' though as you requested, that seems inevitable. Sometimes on forums such as this people just need to moan for a bit if you will and I honestly think unless it's getting toxic and ugly it's better to just let it play out a bit.

I'm not asking for anyone's feedback on how to run the place, nor am I reading it. You guys are asking for someone to be reinstated who is not asking to be reinstated. When I see a user post an insult they will be deactivated. That's it. I own the site. We've been doing this for nearly 20 years and have other priorities... If you don't want to talk about the Raw series then don't post.
^ of course no one here knows, we only know what is posted on JJ dvd site or that Manuel says in his webcast. seems like the only place to get info on raw is from that website, not this one. So thanks to the people who discussed him previously and good luck going forward :)

After watching the scene between Kissa and Manuel for Trenchcoat, were Kissa ended up begin Ferrara to cum insider (didn't happen though), I can't fucking wait for what they do for RAW.
