Reasons for circumcision are pretty much exclusively medical (phimosis). We don't even have that many Jews, either. I don't see another reason fpr anyone to get circumcised. (Soap and water is all you need to solve the hygiene problem.) I don't even know if parents should really have the right to decide such a thing for their child if there's no medical reason to do so. However, it seems pretty common to do so in the US, and most people there seem to be fine with that. As a guest on a US-based website it wouldn't be decent to cry havoc about a tradition that doesn't do any major harm, especially compared with the atrocities done to women in - pardon the term - third world countries. FWIW, I recall an episode of the show Nip/Tuck in which the surgeons decided to start performing this procedure because they said it was quick and lucrative to perform, and there was no shortage of female patients wanting it. This is the U.S.A., same country where people get Botox, facelifts, liposuctions, breast/butt implants, male circumcision, etc. There are even drugs on the market now for women to decrease their number of menstrual periods, despite the obvious health risks that can cause. Additionally, if they never air another commercial for drugs that men can take to make their dicks bigger, then I'll be perfectly happy about that.
