I don't like the wired connection as I just spent $3500 for a new hardwood floor. My NIC is built into my motherboard, so I guess I would need to replace that. Here is the dilemma, Any ideas? Try this and see what happens: Start->run->cmd-> type: ipconfig /release Does this change anything about the connection? Flushed out DNS? Sometimes the cache becomes clogged.  [Link] |

What kind of wireless adapter were you using? A USB one? What kind of adapter is the "new network adaptor" that you mention? What does the built-in NIC have to do with a wireless connection? Regardless of what you were using before, if your computer has an empty PCI slot, you should be able to go out and buy a PCI wireless card for between cheap and dirt-cheap. Something like this (it will periodically be on sale in-store for something like 9 bucks). BTW, if what you're really looking for is someone to tell you to buy the new computer that you know you want, then, by all means, go out and buy that bad boy. [Link] |
