It won't save my Username & Passwords even after designating the information for the sites. 2. Spell check. I installed GNU Aspell-with their dictionary, but Opera doesn't recognize that it's installed on the computer. I'm not sure if I did something wrong in the installation process. 3. It works a little different than IE as far as setting up the Plug-ins. It doesn't appear it can be manually accessed through the Browser. [Link] |

It's not a typical installer and I'm having problems getting it to work. It's driving me nuts!! [o\|] It uses two files, one is for the spellcheck and the other is for the dictionary. It states that spellcheck won't work without the dictionary. These are the file types that it uses. Does anyone know how to properly install them? aspell6-en-6.0-0.tar aspell-0.60.6.tar.gz P.S. I also tried to use Ajax which directs to Ospell. It has a video tutorial that shows how to install it, but when I clicked on the two links which supposedly have two separate files to download, it had a page full of script! And again, [o\|] [o\|] |

Unless something weird comes up, I won't be using IE on ADT any longer. In fact, there will only be a few limited times I'll be using IE now. So now I know what Drew is doing... P.S. jayo, thanks for giving me the heads-up on Opera. So far it runs well. There is a bit of a learning curve, but I've conquered it for the most part. |

Used to be Opera had a lot of problems with Java, but it seems to be a lot better now. I haven't tried the spellcheck or most of the add-ons. I've got a couple of things for awhile but rarely used them. The one big problem with Opera is the browser identification. Some sites simply refuse to let you in if you don't ID as a recent version of FF or IE. The fix is to go into TOOLS > QUICK PREFERNCES > Edit Site Preferences..., then the farthest right tab is NETWORK, and the bottom drop-down lets you identify as different kinds of browsers. Try both Identify and MASK and see which works. I know you're not having a problem now, but that's a good one to remember because you'll hit it eventually. A few months ago Google changed something and decided that Opera was a mobile app, and I kept getting their Google Mobile page instead of my home. I had a hell of a time figuring out how to fix it. |

It only the default setting in Google-Provide query suggestions in the search box works. The Do not provide query suggestions in the search box option in Google doesn't work with Opera. Jayo, do you happen to know anything about getting it to work? In IE you can double-click in the query box and your list of previous entries will appear. Besides being convenient, it helps to remind you of important searches that you've done. It's an invaluable tool because on numerous occasions I forgot what searches I did and it made it possible for me to get info that I would have lost. It also helps to cut down on having a ton of Favorites/Bookmarks, which I have far too many of in IE. 20% of my Favorites are various stuff. About 50% are DVD/Performer links from IAFD for DVD's that I plan on purchasing or renting at some point. About 30% are of ones that I found the source of purchase for. Of course, I came to know about them from ADT. ADT, you guys are going to make me go broke!! |
