Really no different from any other genre from an entertainment standpoint far as I'm concerned. As long as directors wants to make them, performers want to be in them, and fans are willing to buy them, I see no reason they shouldn't exist. My criteria for buying films, no matter the genre, has never changed over the years. I go where the hot chicks are. So if the right ones are in a parody, I'm gonna buy it. And parodies tend to have good diversity and great cast interaction, two things I believe most other genres tend to lack or outright ignor. And the cast generally looks like they are all having fun, which I don't see that often in other genres. So I actually love the idea of them, just not always the execution. [Link]

If the stories were written with an actual sexual context to keep things hot and interesting to better lead into the sex scenes those movies would be much better. Instead the viewer has to sit through the players doing often times weak impersonations and a dull plot all for the sake of trying to look like the show they're parodying instead of putting more emphasis on doing a hot and sexy story that supports the sex scenes. Click to expand It would seem like it would make total sense for the performer to try and stay in character but from what little I've seen they make no effort to try. These movies don't work on several levels. The stories are often dull and offer no titallation. The stories/plots don't flow into or support the sex scenes. When the sex happens it's often generic and other than the bad wigs is no different than the sex in a typical porn flick. With some shows I can understand why it would be harder to pull off but in a lot of those shows it shouldn't take much efort at all to make them hot.I checked out the WKRP parody because I thought it would be a home run because there's so much to play off of. Loni Anderson was so sexy on that show and a lot of time was devoted to guys reacting to how good she looked (expecially Herb). Les was portrayed as awkward around women. Bailey was the girl many people thought was even sexier than Jennier (Loni) and she was always played as eager to try and please. Venus was the cool black guy who was a playa. Momma Carlson was the cold but somewhat attractive mother of Auther Carlson. The Andy character was protrayed as a bit of a stud. Plenty of stuff to work off of yet the WKRP parody came off as flat and dull to me because most of the effort seemed to go into getting the sets and performers to look right and very little on story and performances. The whole idea should be to give the illusion that this is what it would be like if Mrs Brady, Ginger, Mary Ann, or Kelly Bundy or whoever were having sex. It's completely possible to do a good sex scene and stay in character. It would serve the movie better, help the illusion, and offer something different instead of the same type of sex from players we've seen plenty of times before. If people are buying and enjoying the parodies that's great but I think if a little more effort and thought in the right places with these movies were put forth they'd be so much better. [Link]

Click to expand On this note I believe that the X Files parody managed to maintain its artistic integrity while having the show's main cast of characters perform extended sex scenes which were pretty hot. They did not come across as empty filler sex but rather as complemetary to the plot overall; you could actually believe that those characters would behave and interact like that on a given day. I just hope that other producers will have the professionalism to make porn parodies with the same high standards; Sex Files should be the artistic standard for porn parodies from here on! Now if only Digital Sin would make a parody of the Blindside starring Rayveness or Druuna in Sandra Bullocks' Oscar-nominated portryal of Leanne Touhy. Tori Black could be cast as her smoking hot prep school daughter Collins Touhy !! Imagine the possibilites for such an IR parody of 2009's sleeper smash!!! Who has the vision to make such a parody, with high school football games and college recruiting visits; all the sex scenes which could plausibly be portrayed amongst the cast of characters from last fall's blockbuster. This is the type of porn that I grew up on, therefore am nostalgic towards it. And I believe that it's what people like me like. 3. There are a lot of people that have never bought porn before, maybe the girlfriend/wife/boyfriend won't allow it, or they haven't been brave enough, and these are the icebreakers. 4. There are a lot of people that buy novelty items, and they aren't necessarily regular porn consumers I agree that there are a lot of parodies coming out right now, and some are decent and some are crappy. But, it is a genre, and to put it into perspective, a few years back, there was this thing called "MILF Movies" that was hot (read=sarcastically). Everybody and their...mother seemed to be putting these out. The market was flooded with old ladies and so, consumers started to get pickier, and companies stopped producing so many (sort of). Also, for those that don't know; studios and networks can get litigious if you aren't clear that a parody is a parody; hence the boring titles. Anyways, with that said. I appreciate the kind words from some for X-Files appreciation and some of the other work we do at New Sensations/Digital Sin. And if you don't like my stuff, sorry that it has clearly ruined the entire business and your daily lives. Final thought - WKRP was one of my favorite shows growing up. It was filled with sexual innuendo, cleavage, and tight clothing. I paid tribute to it and made it that much easier for fans to fantasize about what it would have been like for Herb to finally get it on with Jennifer. And as a fan of the show, I am proud of my fan-fiction. Is it possible that some of you criticizing it haven't seen it yet? If you have and didn't like it, Cool. There's tons of product coming out every month and the parody stuff is such a small drop in the bucket comparatively. It gets lots of attention because it's popular but there really isn't that much of it out there when compared to what's coming out in porn. At the most there's maybe 3 or so a month. Word, Lee Roy Click to expand Since I was a bit hard on your WKRP I'd like to point out that of all the parodies that came out that the WKRP and 30 ROCK were the only ones I've seen. From a production standpoint I thought they were pretty good especially considering the fact that you probably had a limited budget to work with (compared to Hollywood standards). I'm first to admit I'm much more of a Gonzo/wall to wall type of guy, so I'm a harder sell. As I've pointed out too many times here already I just think the story needs to support the sex scenes a bit more. Easier said than done and perhaps not what you're actually going for. I'm not the target audience for this type of thing even though I like the idea of them so I'm probably a harder sell. However, you seem to be doing some of the better parodies out there and they seem to be doing pretty well for you and the company so I have to figure you know what you're doing. Don't buy them and then please go pass out behind a dumpster but make sure you get a few more rants against the porn parody machine posted before you become redundant by hating something that is intended to be light and fun. It's OK to laugh people in between cum shots. I personally love porn parodies because they are fun to make, difficult to make well, and they are not your normal 5 scene let's fuck movie. There are plenty of those types of movies out there yet and I don't see you complaining about the same five guys fucking the same five girls which in my world gets boring. Now I will agree that our industry is going way overboard and pretty much spoofing anything. That to me ruins the fun so my message for those producers and directors that don't put the effort in and are just cashing in on the good name that has been put forth by a few other producers and directors- go fuck yourself. I watch just about all of them and man there are some super shitty ones out there so beware but remember if it says X-Play you will get a high quality award-winning movie. I can say the same thing for Lee Roy and Axel and a few others but beyond that you are rolling the dice. I hope I get proved wrong in the near future. I just got Not Really Dukes of Hazzard in the mail so I look forward to seeing my friend Anton Slayer's latest effort. He did a good job with the Munsters so this should be fun. Our next project is Not Charlie's Angels XXX and you are going to love it but I know a bunch of you will hate it before it even comes out.
