Back 8-12 years ago Peter North's line of movies were the best series on the market by far. Lexington Steele has to be worth a lot now that he runs a website. Silvia Saint has done a lot of posing in Europe for DDF and appearances.
In addition to their income from performing, etc., I can only imagine the jewelry and other expensive GIFTS that the girls get from fans, wealthy boyfriends or hook-ups, etc. That stuff has to be worth something.

Why would anyone send a porn star jewelry and expensive gifts? I've never heard of anything good coming from doing that exchange.
I would say Tera Partick is worth a few million. Tera Patrick has shot a lot of mainstream glamour shoots like FHM, Bizzare, Zoo, and Maxim in the UK and in europe. She also had her own column for FHM for years(She took over from Jenna Jameson) Also the computer games she has done. The only other pornstar i know that has done them shoots is Jenna Jameson. I don't know much about her porn career. I am sure she has made a lot from porn as well. Edited by - pokerman on 1/26/2010 9:48:38 PM

What is the basis of your information? Did you see her tax return? I think not. Accept for Jenna, I think the rest of your list is probably bogus.

This article from Salon.com in 1999 says that Evil Angel generated around $7 million a year with Mr. Stagliano taking home approx. $1 million annually. Of course, that was during the peak years in terms of sales. PS. I don't buy that Ron is a millionaire, dude will show up at a supermarket opening if there's a free meal available.
Christy Canyon earned a lot more than $500k a year by feature dancing for about five years from her last retirement to the year of 2001. No definite info about her income from movies but incomparably top rated, of course, at that time. In addition, whenever she made a comeback, she was given a luxurious car such as Porsche. I have been following an interesting insider trading trial involving some dodgy individuals and porn companies in Australia - nearly all of whom I have had past business dealings with. Evidence was given yesterday that former Australian Penthouse Pet and porn star Bree Maddox (one hit wonder in an Andrew Blake movie, Secret Paris, that, like all of his films, is practically impossible to jerk off to!) was paid $1.6 million over 12 months to direct punters from her website, Wicked Teen Sluts, to Adultshop.com. Who says that there is no money in porn?
This reminds me of something I saw on MTV a few years ago that was all about the behind the scenes of the music industry. The program mentioned that whenever you see a video of some rapper or rock band who just started or have only sold a few thousand records, and they are wearing big flashy jewelry and driving Bentley's, that those are very likely on loan for the shoot. Rappers like Jay-Z and P Diddy who own record labels, clothing lines, and do commercials can afford Bentley's. Metallica can afford a Ferrari. But not your run of the mill performer.
I wonder if there aren't alot of people who work for wages, or on contract who have a similar view. Say a plumber goes to buy a refridgerator and says "do you know how many crappers I've got to unplug to pay for that!"
I wonder if he is in SAG? I heard once that to have a speaking part in any mainstream movie you had to be (you California types probably know much better than I though). If so, he also gets the occassional residual check, since he had speaking bit parts in a few shows and movies. Hell one of "The Movie Channel" stations broadcasts that crappy "One Eyed Monster" with Ron Jeremy and Charles Napier about once a week.
He's definitely in SAG. His list of mainstream credits is long (although often times he gets left on the cutting room floor which is what happened in Boogie Nights)
Ginger Lynn probably is as well. Her scene in Mother Suckers 2 is smokin hot. As I recall, she was a coach or something in American Pie: Band Camp (before those sequels got really shitty). As an aside, I wonder what they have on Eugene Levy? Maybe its just about the money, as long as the checks clear, Eugene Levy will be in whatever cruddy movie there is.
Ron Jeremy may not get that much in residuals (now that I think about it). I remember watching something on VH1 (maybe one of those I Love the 80's retrospective shows) and they were talking about Weird Al's "UHF" movie. They interviewed the comedian Emo Phillips who was in the movie. He produced an uncashed residual check from the movie for something like 38 cents, to which he said "the gift that keeps on giving".

Hi guys, Somewhere on Twitter I saw that some rumours are developing that James Deen has bought a Porsche GTR. Do you think that it is possible ??? Ok he is a popular performer nowadays however he is still so new in the business. Can a guy earn that much money in such a short time ??? The value of the vehicle is around 300.000 $ by the way... Do you have any estimation & opinion regarding that issue ???

OH BOY! This is just my OPINION: Huston did NOT make millions from doing porn movies. I seriously doubt that Jenna is worth 70 million ~ why would she be selling her Range Rover on Ebay. Give me a break. I bet that she has made a few million but that goes REALLY fast when you have a hefty spending habit. Tera Patrick had to start over because of her divorce. So I am doubting that she has millions. If she did then Evan would have taken half and I do not think that he has millions either. Like Mike Quasar has posted, I too believe that Ron Jeremy has LOTS of $$$. Yes, he is in SAG. He is one of my dear friends. He drives an older car and owns condo's and has a simple way of living. That's actually very smart in these times. Anyone can LEASE expensive cars and RENT mansions to live in to make themselves look like they have more than they really do. Besides, who cares??? Why judge someone by how much money they make? Can people in this world be any more fake than they already are? For myself, I think that if you own your home and your vehicle outright you are very smart and ahead of the game. I've LEASED many Jaguars, Range Rovers and sports cars (for myself and for guys that I dated ~ I know, I'm retarded) and bought lots of expensive clothes and jewelry. Yeah, I looked super cool pulling up in my LEASED cars to restaurants and industry events but look at all of the $$$ I WASTED. No more leasing for me. My husband and I own our home. We live comfortably and I'm happiest I've ever been. I don't EVER want to feel like I HAVE to work my ass off to drive a $100k car (especially a leased car).
Internet companies are the ones making a mint! Porn Law is 100% correct, performers do NOT make residuals from their movies. It would be an accounting nightmare. You get your scene rate and then you go home. Yes, a porn star can make a million dollars + if he/she works real hard and saves his/her money. Being FLASHY doesn't mean shit! Just means you need attention because your EGO has the BEST of you! www.tabithastevens.com

Thank you Bob! Just telling it like it is! Hey, we all work so hard to afford the finer things in life, but that's all it is ~ just THINGS. We ALL need to learn to love life and be happy with ourselves for WHO we are and not for WHAT we have. Have a beautiful weekend! www.tabithastevens.com
IMO, the reason it does matter is because so many 20 year-old girls come into the biz thinking it's a way to become "rich." As you and others have pointed out that almost never happens. What does happen is, after two or three years and hundreds of scenes the now ex-performer leaves the industry (because they're no longer "fresh meat" and can't get work) and are pissed. They blame the industry, or people in the biz for the fact that they're NOT rich--and have little to show for their porn experience. Porn as an industry doesn't need ex-performers suffering from "porn remorse." People need to came into the biz with realistic expectations.

I was under the impression most girls make their real bank working the stripping circuit. I've been told they get a grand for a movie but can make like $15,000 a week working the big strip clubs.
I would guess that Danni Ashe (while retired and never in hardcore) and Belladonna are probably millionaires. And I found these on a website online that tells celebrity net worths (I'm not sure how accurate it is): Bree Olson - $5 million Jenna Jameson 20 million Jesse Jane 8 million Ron Jeremy - 7 million Sasha Grey 1 million Tera Patrick 15 million Traci Lords - 7 million
if you think Bree Olsen is worth 5 million dollars, you've probably also been abducted by aliens and have seen the loch ness monster. NONE of the those figures are accurate except perhaps Jenna but that's only because Playboy made one of the worst business deals on earth, which is of course why they won't be around much longer. Ronnie has never paid for a meal in his life and he owns a lot of property so I could believe that part. Sasha, talented as she is, was probably paid scale for Entourage.

They didn't give any information on how they up with their estimate. As much as I like Bree and now Bree 2.0, I find it real hard to believe that she's grossed $10+ mil over the past several years to give her an overall net worth of $5 Mil.
Think about it. If a girl was worth 5 million dollars, why would she still be working as a day player for 2k a scene? She's worth every penny, don't get me wrong but do the math on that one and explain how it adds up to 5 million dollars
To put a "business spin" on this topic, the same Celebrity Networth website also uses a Return on Investment (ROI) method that, in effect, rates the "value" of mainstream performers like Naomi Watts, Rachel McAdams, and Halle Berry. For example, Naomi (who is the Top ROI performer) has an average of $41 return for every $1 she is paid. It might be interesting (though difficult to do, since porn companies keep revenue numbers secret) to figure out which "Pornstars" have the best ROI. IMO, that's a true indicator of a porn performer's "star" status in the industry--not the amount of wealth they accumulate thru various business deals, or the size of a contract they get from a porn studio, or their popularity/hype. The bottom line for me is: does a performer's sexvids consistently make money? And is the porn performer worth the money they're paid. My guess is: some are paid too much, others too little! Again, this is a business POV. Edited by - Derek117 on 9/26/2010 12:47:39 PM
A few years ago Lexington Steel was asked on a segment of the Howard Stern show about different "stunts" he'd do for a million dollars and he said he didn't need to do any of the stunts because he already makes more than that a year. Is it possible? He owns his own company, has been in the game for years and is a major player in the biz and still gets paid to be in other companies movies. Surely, he must be worth a million or two. I keep hearing how porn is a multi billion dollar business but the people making it claim they aren't really making much. How can that be? Do people like Lex or Jules really own their companies or are they mostly the front men running it for someone who really owns them?
I don't know about Lex but Jules is definitely worth some serious coin. He's done everything right in his career except distributing for Brazzers. Surely by now he must see the irony that making a bit of extra cash distributing product for the biggest content thieves in the business is actually putting him out of business. Allow me to clarify that last statement. I didn't mean to infer that the tube sites belonging to Brazzers were putting just Jules out of business, but in the larger sense that they will put us all out of business. Edited by - mike quasar on 10/3/2010 8:49:09 PM
If they use that method then it's totally subjective and is no way capable of measuring a person's net worth. Regardless, calculating someone's net worth is extremely difficult to do and as you said the companies keep their revenue numbers secret so we can't get any proper numbers or valuations. I agree with Tabitha, there is no point in living a lavish lifestyle if it's based on debt and a facade. They key to making money long term is living below your means, not way above them. Porn is like ay other business, a few people (for whatever reason) float to the top and make millions, while the vast majority do not ever see that sort of money. One thing is for sure, the lure of making millions is what draws so many beautiful, young, women into the business. Of course most learn early on being beautiful doesn't mean they'll make serious $$$$.
My point exactly. People should NOT get into porn because they think it's an "easy" way to become rich. The porn life is not easy--and you won't become rich.
Reading what Tabitha and Mike have to say in this thread is absolutely awesome. Thanks guys for contributing your collective experiences. It is very much appreciated by outsiders such as myself who enjoy getting an insiders view on the industry. Tabitha believe me it is not just in the porn industry where people try and show off by leasing fancy vehicles and by staying in up-market leased homes that are way too opulent and expensive in order to impress their so-called "friends"

I also totally agree with these statements. The same iceberg story, only the little group on the top is earning good, but the average stars do not become rich and can not live a super luxury life. Edited by - overrated guy on 9/27/2010 1:21:39 PM
