I agree with DRAG about Natasha nice loosing weight and that did hurt her breast appearance. However, I would say she made it. Not sure about the wildness of the the sex acts argument, Sunny Lane, Gianna and Alexis Texas all did quite well without going too far into the extreme stuff. Natasha seems to have pulled back herself for reasons why we'll never know. She did work in features a lot more later on so gonzo fans would have missed a lot of her later work, which is quite good actually.

Again not wanting to be cruel but Natasha breasts and to a lesser extent her face really did suffer quite a bit, but it was not the physical aspect but that she was clearly in a bad place that I found very uncomfortable to watch. And I think once off the radar is tough to get back? ^ I'd also add the criminally underrated Charley Chase to that list. And to the poster that suggested that she did "make it", maybe I don't have the best sense of who's made it or not, because there's a lot of porn that I don't watch (BDSM, parodies, features). All I meant though is that when she first started, she seemed to be doing a lot of gonzo stuff for top studios, and not much in recent years. You make an interesting point. I mention the "wilder" aspect because I think a girl misses out on work and being a high profile performer if they aren't willing to be "wild" (I consider "wild" more agreessive sex which Gianna did) and miss out on being in EVIL ANGEL, JULES JORDAN, and other "harder" studios. But then you mention Alexis Texas...I think Alexis can be a "harder/wilder" performer than Natasha. Natasha has been in some EVIL ANGEL and JULES JORDAN productions but I really don't think of her as that type of performer. Surprisingly, Natasha did a Rocco movie a couple of years ago and that was a shock to me. I never saw the whole scene so I wonder how she faired. I'd like to know by what standard she "didn't" make it? Sure, she could have done more (even though the IAFD shows 265 scenes), but she had a credible career, moved onto the Penthouse stuff and even a little mainstream (e.g. Zack and Miri Make a Porno). I think the real question is why wasn't Katie the "big name star," as opposed to merely being the A-list girl the fanboys were actually whacking to.

They can be big within a certain niche like being big within the "black girl" porn arena but to get to the level of overal fame of someone like Jada, Marie Luv or Skin Diamond is hard. Also, typically there only seems to be one or maybe two super popular black girls at any given time. For long while it was Jada, Marie Luv was the girl for awhile, Nyomi Banxxx had a short run, Misti was the girl for a time and now it's Skin Diamond. It seems like when the new black girl becomes popular she pushes the one before her out. Keep in mind that I'm talkig about black women appearing in non-black girl or all black movies. I'm talking about black girls who rountinely will show up in the higher end mostly white productions. I maybe wrong but that's the way I see it.
Skin Diamond is out of the scale , she is not just a big black , she's a superstar overall, one who can break a wall , she starred in a couple movies for Vivid (Runaway comes immediately to mind) and is very much able to act too, but I see your point. ^ I think Skin Diamond is rewriting the book on "Black girl" stardom. She's easily among the top ten current female stars, certainly qualifies as a superstar and, as far as I can tell, is doing this almost totally within the mainstream porn universe (i.e. never having been limited to the "Black only" and/or "niche" market).
