There is a lot of pressure in porn to loose weight and be skinny. I have been rejected so many times for scenes because I was "too big", "out of shape" or whatever the particular wording was. There are not enough big girl movies to exclusively earn a living and girls need to be versatile to get enough bookings. Being skinny and looking like the average porn star (skinny, toned, big boobs, long hair, no tattoos) still gets you the highest rates and most earning. There might be some performers (female AND male btw) who take drugs or have diagnosable disorders but those conditions are prevalent across the general population and of course you will also find some people with those who are working in porn. We don't have any reliable information whether substance abuse and/or diagnosable conditions are observed among porn performers at a significantly higher rate compared to the same age group in the general population. (Maybe that would be a great research topic for my masters thesis) i hope my input as an anal performer who has first hand knowledge about performing such scenes and the porn industry can help you make less assumptions and ask more questions to those you are talking about.
