Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo will include an adult download section in their online stores. Perhaps even collaborations between - i.e. Sony and Zero Tolerance, etc. - to create an exclusive line for download for PS3 and PSP owners.
I predict a rise in virtual porn, as photo-realistic graphics become more common on computers. I predict the slow death of the porn star as a result. With virtual porn you will be able to design the perfect woman, or simply have one made from a photograph of any woman you like. 20 years from now there will be almost no real-live porn anymore, it will be obsolete. I just got back from watching Avatar and sure hope 3D will make it into porn ;) At some point in the movie I zoned out and spent what must have been 10 minutes picturing that perfect body in full 3D so close you imagine you can smell it. Don't disagree, except for the 'death of the porn star.' People will never tire of, nor stop exalting the individual who does what they do better than others who do it. As for your timeline, it seems a bit quick to me. At my age, 10 years, even twenty, feels like a long week-end, and 40 years ago people were predicting we'd have colonies on Mars by this time, so I'm not sure things will happen so fast.

I think Blueray is a throw-away technology. Everything will be digital and digital players will be the norm quicker than Blueray will make see market saturation. The early Blueray manufacturers fucked up royally by trying to artificially keep the prices on the players high so as to not erode their traditional DVD sales. That, coupled with consumers (like me) who are sick of buying 14 versions of the same movie just to get everything will push everything digital. I also tend to believe digital distribution is cheaper than DVD distribution. The economics of porn will continue to drive web-based content digital and keep it that way. When you only sell 10,000 of a particular title as-is, why bother with DVD's at all?

Hehe, I used to be a huge videogame junkie when I was in college. Almost every night we'd have a bunch of people in my dorm competing on different games for a lot of cash. Unfortunately I don't play videogames anymore because I don't have time. Work sucks the life out of me and it gives me too much stress. To treat my stress level, I have to spend most of my free time at a nightclub to try to bait some hot sluts so I can fuck them real good. Sex is the best stress management method. No questions asked. I don't own any of the current videogame consoles but I did try out the Xbox 360 a couple of times at my neighbor's place. The whole Xbox Live thing is so cool with the voice chat, party chat, etc. I love how there's the marketplace where you can buy movies, games, and other shit. I was even able to use facebook on it! Porn was pretty much the only thing missing!

^^ I'd normally agree with that, but being a big LucasFilm fan, I waited for almost a DECADE to throw away my Laser Disc player versions of the Star Wars and Indiana Jones trilogies for just the plain-jane DVD versions to be released. Then, once the Indy trilogy came out, the full trilogy set came in 2003. Then the Special Editions in 2008. That's a 5 year gap in there. Granted, we don't see this kind of behavior in porn...hell, good BTS segments are hard enough to find. But since the success of Blue Ray ultimately depends on what happens in mainstream, I doubt it will see the market share that DVD's enjoyed before being usurped by purely digital media. I personally think that the Videobox model is the direction of porn, but you'll see some variations on that theme. Personally, I'm waiting for Netflix to finish proving out their streaming model and then some porn companies to join forces and start their own Pornflix-kinda replacement service. I know there is a porn-specific set-top box company out there now (their name escapes me...proving that they aren't viable for long term success), but I think thats a really shallow example of what I think the future holds. I think you'll end up paying a flat fee per month for all your porn from a handful of producers, that fee won't include exclusive new releases (which you'll have to pay an upcharge to see, or a higher-per-month premium), but you'll have their entire library available to you on-demand. My entire home is now serviced by IP-based services....HD tv, phone, high-speed internet. It's AT&T's Uverse. I am, basically, all streaming, all the time. Just throw porn into the mix and you've arrived.

I dont think much will happen in what porn currently does. I think it will just be more of it for whatever your taste may be. Look at CFNM stuff for an example. A few years ago there was none here in the states, only overseas had this fetish. Now there are US websites that cater to this. I think whatever you are nto, you will have more choices. I see more technology breakthroughs being the biggest changes to porn. Better looking qaulity and other breakthrough, maybe better interactive stuff.

Nothing has really changed in the thousands of years that porn has been around, except the delivery systems, so I don't really anticipate that there's anything for porn to change in to... The same stuff you get on blue-ray can be found painted on some cave wall or other, I'm sure.... The only real difference is screen resolution ,-)

i haven't yet seen anything in 3D, but that sounds like the most important development. more direct creativity by the performers in making their own videos would also be nice. what i can't predict but would like to know is who and how many people will be prosecuted, and for what.

Virtual 3D computer/robot fucking is where it's at! Strap me into the Fuckatron 9000, and keep me there. The only signs of life, would be the occasional semen release.
Large gangbangs will go neary extinct (we're already seeing it really) but the genre will survive with the 4-7 guy smaller gangbang scenes. There will be less anal overall, though still plenty of it, and there will be fewer IR dodgers. DPs will still thrive, but double anal and vaginal will become quite a bit less common. On balance I don't believe porn will get more extreme, like some anti porn activists argue. In fact I see it going in the other direction to some extent. technology wise if you look at the past beta never got off the ground, vhs has been phased out. by the end of this decade dvd will be phased out. internet and netflix-like services will be the dominant market forces later on this decade (and not just in porn). i used to be indecisive, but now i'm not so sure.
