I purchased the XXX version of Corruption from my local adult retailer not knowing it was the editing version. What are my options since the dvd is not defective?
1) If you opened it, then the store really owes you nothing. If it's unopened and you have a receipt, then you have a chance especially if you tell them you want to get the unedited version from them and made a mistake.
2) This is news or a press release how?

Wish I had seen this sooner.
If you have inadvertently purchased the "Standard XXX" version of the DVD, you can exchange it by sending it to SexZ Pictures.
Go to SexZvod.com and click the "Contact" link. E-mail Bo from that page and tell him you want to exchange your copy for the Director's Cut and they will give you the detials.
I think that I just found out the answer to this question the hard way. I recently purchased Corruption from DVD Movies Direct, through Adult DVD Marketplace. It arrived yesterday. Unfortunately, I received the edited version.
When I saw the cover, I was afraid that this would be the case. The top of the front cover of the edited version contains a blurb that says "2007 AVN awards nominee with 16 nominations including Best Feature, Best Actress, Best Director".
The bottom of the cover says:
"AVN Editors Choice." 'One of the most engaging video features in modern times, but definitely not for The faint of heart!' - Mark Kernes, AVN"
However, other than the addition of those blurbe, which weren't on the original cover, because it hadn't been nominated yet, there is nothing that indicates that there is anything different about the contents of the the package.
I will be taking Eli's advice and e-mailing Bo to request a replacement.
I just finished watching Corruption bought it/ordered it a few days ago and it has to be the the origanal version.The box just says Corruption and 3 disk set thats all nothing else plus their is fisting in it.This movie is the best adult film with a story line I have ever seen.
So if the fisting is in it that means its the right one right ?
Well, as per Bo's instructions, I called SexZ today and was told that they would NOT exchange the edited version for the Director's Cut because I purchased it through Adult DVD Marketplace, with whom they "don't do business".
The guy that I talked to accused Adult DVD Marketplace of being "a corrupt website" and said that "if I bought it through Adult DVD Marketplace, it must be a fake."
So, within one phone call, he called an ADT affiliate "corrupt" and essentially told me to go fuck myself.

Bill - sorry, but that's hilarious. Someone who obviously doesn't understand what marketplace is. The same type of people who used to call us up and bitch us out for selling their product so cheaply.
I told him that Marketplace doesn't actually sell the discs, but acts as an agent between retailers and consumers. He didn't care.
What I find interesting is that when I e-mailed Bo, who appears to be the owner of SexZ, the first sentence of my e-mail was "I recently ordered Corruption through Adult DVD Marketplace.com." That was when he told me that they were sold out and to call the number that I listed above in two weeks. So, apparently, Bo had no problem with the place that I purchased the disc.
After I got off of the phone today, I e-mailed Bo and told him that I made the call as he suggested and told him the results of the call. If he replies, I will post an update here.
The copy I have is the edited version. I never would have known if I hadn't read this thread. So there's no fisting. Big deal. I am accustomed to not seeing fisting in DVDs I buy. Trust me, this version is not missing anything if you don't know you are missing anything. It's not like you are seeing a softcore version or anything. It's terrific.
Well that tells me the copy I get from them will probably the edited version as well. (LOL that must be why it still hasn't shown up yet. The man upstairs knows its not the original version. First someone at my local post office gives it to the wrong mailman, who takes it to who knows where address where they refuse it and have it returned where no one tells me until I ask DVDMovies Direct, then 2 weeks after that, they still haven't gotten the movie back yet in the mial to re-put in the mail to send back to me.)
Thankfully Eli said they're still doing the Director's Cut. Soon as that one comes out, I'm getting it!
I'm kind of with 3SB on this. There was fisting in some Skeeter movie awhile back and while it was interesting, it didn't really "blow my mind" or anything. You can shoot something that is actually happening and convey what is happening without showing so much of the act that it gets you in trouble. You can see it on the Internet anytime you want. Though I think it kind of sucks that the movie is being sold to people who think they are getting something they are not -- and the company isn't equipped to make good on its promise.
Between this and Kurt Lockwood's reaction to astroknight's review, I'm starting to see a pattern. I'm kinda' surprised there wasn't a rep kicking each of us in the balls as we passed by the Sex-Z Pictures booth at AEE.
That nonsequitir aside, did they say if the Director's Cut was back in stock yet? I hear what some of you are saying about the merits of the XXX-rated version. However, I'm one of those guys who needs to see everything once I know it's out there and available.
I can understand that the edited version is still a great movie.
That said, when I order prime rib and the waiter brings me a filet, I don't care how good the filet is. I want the prime that I was told I was going to get when the owner stopped by my table and told me it would be taken care of. It doesn't matter if the busboy brought the steak out or not if the owner of the restaurant said it would be taken care of. When my waiter comes back and tells me to shut up and eat my steak, I don't think I'd eat at that restaurant any more either.

Great analogy. In my case, I ordered the filet out of the gate not knowing that the prime rib was even an option. So when the filet was delivered, I was thrilled. When I later found out that I could have ordered the prime rib instead, I was still perfectly happy with the filet. Prime rib is so fatty!
I can assure you that there is something deeper going on here as Sex Z Pictures owner Bo Kenney is really a good guy that is very concerned about his product. I will try to call him on the phone Friday and get a report back to forum.
Bo was the one who told me to wait two weeks and call the office. It was the guy at the office who gave me a hard time. Bo knew where I bought the disc before telling me what I should do. When I e-mailed him, I told him where I bought it.
That having been said, after my conversation with the guy in the office on Monday, I e-mailed Bo again to tell him what had happened. Til now, three days later, he hasn't replied.

As I've said in the past, I check in here to ADT about once every six weeks or so, or I would have replied sooner.
Bo has been away from e-mail for the most part getting fitted for his new race car over the last few days. However, the person you spoke to at the office shouldn't be giving you a hard time about buying the damned movie on ADM. I don't know how much pull I have with the guys back in VA, but if you'll e-mail me at eli@pornfaktory.com and tell me who at the office is being the pain in the balls, I'll see what I can do.
Barring that, I'll exchange the thing for you myself with one of my personal copies.
I may ask if the same thing is possible for me when my copy finally shows up (if it does. DVDMoviesDirect still says they haven't gotten it back yet in the mail, 3 weeks after the post office says they sent it back).
Either that, try to get my money back, and wait for Eli to let us know when the Director's Cut is getting a release.
It's nice to be able to update this thread with good news. Today, I got an e-mail from Bo Kenney of Sex-Z pictures arranging a replacement of my edited edition of Corruption with the original Director's Cut.
I'd like to publicly thank Eli Cross for all of his help in making this happen and I also want to note that Bo Kenney has been nothing but helpful in taking care of this issue. It was one of his employees that gave me a hard time, but Bo took care of everything. He was helpful before I spoke with his employee and he was helpful afterward. So a thank you goes out to Bo as well.
Very good news, Bill. Eli was always every bit as much of a class act when I dealt with him through e-mail as he is here. I haven't had any dealings with Bo, but it's good to hear that he is too.

The UPC codes are different, director's cut has 8 7580400064 4 and the standard XXX version has 8 7580400100 9. On the back of the director's cut there is a picture of Helms cutting his neck which is not present on the standard XXX box. The standard XXX box has a shiny border around the pictures and a red box with shiny border that starts out with "iPod formatted version...". As Bill figured the front of the standard version has AVN Award info on the top and and AVN Editors Choice info on the bottom and on the bottom right is 3 Disc Set. The director's cut has 3 Disc Set as a sticker on the top instead of printed on the cover.
I didn't provide all of the answers that Flash did about the cases earlier, because I was concerned that, since Sex-Z was running new batches of the Director's Cut, that they would change the cover to mention all of the awards, just like the standard version does.
Today I received my replacement copy of Corruption (Bo had it overnighted to me, nice job) and I can confirm that everything that Flash mentioned is still accurate. The only difference, which might appear in photos at websites is that there is now a large square silver sticker toward the top left corner of the case, on the outside of the cellophane, that says "2007 AVN Award Best Video Winner"
Damn, I was really hoping they'd do something so both stores and people could easily tell the two versions apart. Something as simple as reversing or changing the colors in the title band across the front would have been very nice.

They've definitely got something of a "catch-22". Even with the above suggestions, the person purchasing the disc needs to know ahead of time that there are two versions and that one color identifies one version and another color identifies the other version. The modifications that they made the packaging of the edited (or "standard") version accomplishes the same thing because if you know what to look for, you can identify one version from the other.
Modifying the cover of original version, to now refer to this version as "Director's Cut" would be a bad thing because it could cause people, who purchased the movie when it first came out, to think that this is really the Collector's Edition, which hasn't been released yet.
Putting something on the edited version calling it the "standard version" could cause similar confusion. For most people, "standard version" is really equivalent to "original version". Since the Director's Cut was the first one to be released, many people would think of that as the standard version. Calling it "Edited version" would be like putting a label on it saying "Don't Buy This Disc", while at the same time, causing unwanted attention to the fact that there is a harder core version available somewhere.
Had the edited version been released first, they could have used "Standard Version", "Director's Cut" and "Collector's Edition" as the three identifiers on the cover. But since the version that's now being referred to as the "Director's Cut" was the first one released, I don't know what a good solution would be.
True. Maybe just labeling them "The Original Cut", "The Standard Cut", and "The Collector's Edition" or something like that with the correct running time clearly indicated on the back cover. Right now I seriously think the worst thing Corruption has going against it is that it's a crapshoot for anybody who wants to buy it for what version they get. Even the stores don't seem to be able to tell them apart!

Still no sign of my copy of Corruption ever being returned back to DVD Movies Direct. The last tracking number says it was sent back well over a month ago.
They won't send out any other copies of the stuff I ordered till the originals come back (which I'm beginning to think are just plain lost at this point.)
Now how to figure out how to get the money back (since they'll still say they sent it out and someone out here refused it) and then I'll just wait until Eli says the director's cut is coming out.
If the buyer bought it - and the seller sent it - (with proof of a USPS tracking #) - then I don't understand why ADM would be involved...
I would call your post office or make it a point to speak with your mailman directly, and ask him/her why it was marked "refused", and who supposedly "refused" it.
