Would anyone happen to know if there are any plans from North Pole Enterprises/Fame Digital to restore and remaster Peter North's scenes to HD?

It will likely not happen. What you would call "classic" was stuff that was - most likely - not shot on film and if it was, such film would have been long-gone by now due to poor preservation, being shuffled around, or simply being tossed in the garbage. Peter North's classic scenes were in the early "shot on video" era of porn and none of that stuff from the 80's and 90's can be remastered in any sense of the word. Anything shot after 2003 would have likely been shot on HDV, so those scenes can be revisited and remastered as decent - but not great - HD video files, assuming the original tapes are still in good condition and can be transferred.

If the stuff was shot in SD as most classic porn from the video era was, then you are not really gaining anything by making it HD. It's really nothing more than upscaling the image which most playback devices can do with low rez material anyhow. The only real gain in quality I could see, is if the previous releases of these scenes where over-compressed or poorly encoded.
The few times I've seen studios try and do HD remasters of SD video scenes the results were bad. Jules Jordan remastered some of their classic stuff in HD and in my opinion the results looked worse than the 10+ year old dvds.

If it's done well, it can look really good. I mean, there's movies from the 1930's that are being remastered to full HD and they look amazing. Sure, porn companies doesn't have anywhere near the same budget, but if it's done right it can look good.

Movies from the 30's where shot on film. Film has a much higher image resolution than standard definition video. This is why porn from the 70's and 80's that was shot on 16mm or 35mm film can look so good when remastered by a company like Vinegar Syndrome. Stuff shot in SD video can never be made to look as good.

I would happy with a real DVD quality 480p video, unfortunately videos on Fame sites are sucks.

I would be happy if they re-released his old scenes and edited out all the cutaways to his face in the middle of the cumshot. I'd love to see a compilation disc of old classic scenes ruined by the aforementioned editing buffoonery.
I was just watching an awesome Ashlyn Gere movie, The Last Resort, a while back and her amazing performance in a scene with Randy West (with female completion!) was completely ruined by SEVERAL cutaways to the guy's face, many right in the middle of the cumshot! And this was in 1990, where I thought I would be somewhat safe from that kind of thing. I posted another thread asking about when such practices stopped being so popular, but it seems that you're not safe from this until well into the 2000s.
I've seen several compilations of Peter North cumshots and the vast majority of them seemed to have cutaways to his face. So stupid.
