I kind of like when a girl announces her retirement on social media. I like to know she's not exiting due to some bad experiences. Once in awhile a girl flakes and announces how the industry mistreated her, didn't pay her enough, etc. That might be another thing all together. I was impressed with Violet Starr confirming her retirement here. It's respectful of all partied involved. https://forum.adultdvdtalk.com/violetstarr-ftv-violet
It's an interesting question. It's certainly not as lucrative as years ago. I don't think most girls can make up the income appearing at strip clubs and on webcams. Certainly, some girls might be scorting at high rates during and after their porn career. However, many, many others just disappear. I've actually wondered if some women find it's something they just want to experience. Perhaps it's indicative of our sexual openness as a culture. There are some websites of young girls (and matures for that matter) who deliberately do one or two scenes in a hotel room and then disappear.
James Deen quietly left the building last month, in a Bilbo Baggins-esque goodbye post on his website. For whatever reason, it hasn't made the industry news sites. He says he might come back and wants to come back, but for now, he's leaving.
^ & ^^ James is not quitting porn. He's quitting social media. If you had bothered to read his blog post, he says he's tired of keeping up the "James Deen" persona on social media, so he's going to stop blogging and posting on Twitter. No where in that blog post does James say he's quitting performing. In fact it's just the opposite. He says he loves performing as much now as when he started and wants to keep shooting until he is physically unable to do so. Edited by - jman5245 on 8/24/2018 9:32:24 AM
Bad news but not entirely unexpected either. She seemed to be doing fewer and fewer scenes lately. While I had an unreasonable hope for an anal scene from her, that hope is dashed now.
Agreed. Never was able to stand him even before his shitty behavior came to light. Never liked how he always roughed up the performers senselessly. Feel the same way about Ryan Madison.
Damn. She's an all-timer. Still, she had such a high level of output that a reasonable fan could never get bored. Glad she was able to do so many different things before she left the biz.

I think Alix Lynx has gone. Her twitter has changed drastically! She no longer has her agent in her bio and her feed is full of music. She doesn't tweet about porn anymore. (Unless she's plugging her OF stuff). 'Her youtube channel has changed as well. Used to be full of fun videos, but is now full of mixes.
i'm so sad she's leaving, looking better than ever, to do... snapchat. And of course tons of people will throw money at it, for 5 second clips on your phone. It's a trend i see more and more with pornstars, and i dont like it. Edited by - unreliable narrator on 9/8/2018 3:40:13 AM
According to OC Modeling site Anna Bell Peaks will retire in 2019. So it's might be last chance to book her for anything. Wish to see her doing some more anal scenes and eventually DP to say goodbye to the fans. [Link]

Consider Dakota Skye retired again due to mental health - I think Phoenix Marie said it beautifully in an interview - there's something to be said for knowing yourself before you enter this business because if you don't - you can get chewed up and spit out repeatedly.
^ Yes sad for sure, like we didn't see this coming. Everybody's looks change some over the years but if you look at this earlier picture of her compared with the just released scene from Jules Jordon you can see in her eyes and face something is going on upstairs.
In case you didn't see it on Kendra Sunderland's thread, she is retiring again. From her Twitter today: "I know I've said it before but this is it. I needed an amazing experience & killer pics to end on! I'll never regret joining the adult industry. I had the best experience but I'm ready to quit shooting/dancing & just travel the world."
Not sure of her status , but on her thread users are assuming that Harley Dean has slowly retired without giving any official announcement . (+ no new Tweet since July 30 . Only 2 TW in June )
Elektra Rose replied to this topic on her twitter earlier this week. She mentioned in such reply she re-retired sometime last year. I keep forgetting to post this but I spoke to Tara Morgan at avn this past January. She mentioned to me then she retired from doing scenes about a year or so ago and is focusing on her adult botique/store.
Peta jensen is long time retired, the rumor is she got married to a rich dude so don't expect her back anytime soon. Edited by - vimesk on 10/25/2018 9:42:08 PM
^Just that they're retired , as far as I know, and this thread seems to be mainly focused on retirement announcements and not 'updates' afterwards. I tried to start a comeback thread last year, but it wasn't as popular as the retirements thread. Most posters announce comebacks/updates in their named threads on the forum so you may want to check the ones for those stars , if you haven't already.

For most of this year, I had assumed that Piper Perri was no longer active. Today, I saw this tweet from her in response to somebody asking about her retirement, thus confirming that she is indeed no longer active: [Tweet is no longer available] [Tweet is no longer available]
