As the dust finally begins to settle I left my little head up to see…
The drive there: Took forever to pack. Took forever to leave. Traffic was a nightmare all the way there. We stopped about three times and finally we just wanted to get there so…I pissed in a cup and my boyfriend took a healthy sip! He so nasty (I love it) We checked in to The Venetian at 1030 or so and found out we couldn't hook up the playstation that we brought ahhhhhhh bitches what a waste of the 20 or so DVD's and games we brought.
Day One: I had to be in makeup at 7:15 am! It's funny how much gossip you hear in the makeup chair-just like high school…something's never change. I forgot to bring quasi warm close to Vegas so I had to wear my boyfriend's track jacket and my addidas pants down to the convention floor. It was a fucking hassle just getting my badge so I could get on the expo floor; I went back and forth until I finally got inside and made my way to The Evil Angel booth. It was an all trade day today (no fans) so it wasn't too busy, and Sandra Romain and I kept each other company. I was done signing at 2:30 and didn't get back to my hotel until 3:15, I was swarmed with autographs as I inched my way back to the room. I changed into comfortable shoes and my boyfriend and I had lunch with Michelle and Aiden. When we got back to the hotel, a German documentary crew came up to my room to do an interview. It was simple because I had shot with them before (and have since become good friends), they didn't need too much footage so all and all it was cool. Some time to kill when they left sooooo…Ian gave me some damn goooooood headJ I met Michelle and her family for dinner and Aiden screwed with the server-it was hilarious, he should have a segment on "the website" just fucking with peoples heads! We made our way to The Tropicana hotel and saw an exhibit called: Bodies. The best part was the foetus' in liquid filled back light jars at various levels of development that was intense. My boyfriend and I walked back to the hotel so we could get some lotion (so that way we would not get the hose) and they took a cab. I was so exhausted from being on my feet all day I went straight to bed.
Day Two: Today was the only day I thought I could sleep in-but nooooo I had to do a photo shoot at 10AM for Hot Video Magazine (French). The photographer and his assistant were really cool. We shot right in front of The Paris hotel (because of my interest in French culture either in tribute or jest I'm not sure) with my naked ass haning out and shivering in the wind form the strip. A crowd of people were snapping pictures on there phones-kind of pissed me off because they will only become a masturbatory tool for that one person-not the masses ,hmmmpf let them eat cake! We got done at 1130 and ate stale pasta at this el fake-o Italian place----uggggh! I got to the booth at 145 and did an interview for the LA times-and started signing at 200. From the time I started until 6pm I went up and down from the podium to do a total of six interviews!!! I was pooped when I was done and I could barely walk back to my room hanging on Ian's shoulder the entire way as he escorted me. I soaked my feet right awayJ At 8 we went to the ADT party (AdultDVDTalk.com) at The Palms (nice contemporary interior design) and I finally met some of the members and had some good talks with Skronk and Buck. Then the Spiegler crew went to a party at a strip club-which was lame idea (sorry AVN), but it's a bit hard to mingle. We timed our stay for exactly an hour because I hadn't eaten since lunch and I was in heels for 13 hours so fuck all. We left exactly at midnight and we were forced to eat McD's (come to find out that The Venetian café is 24 hrs)! hahaha.
Day Three: I had to go to the booth early today due to rehearsals for the AVN award show. I got out of there at 4pm and met the driver outside of the hotel. We were supposed to be at Mandalay bay at 5pm but didn't leave until 5 because awesome Kimberley Kane had a camera crew with her for a tv show, and Ron Jeremy lifted her thunder. I can't complain-he's a funny guy. The rehearsals took fooooooooooooorever! We took a cab back to the hotel and made our way back to the room to get dressed for dinner. Tonight we ate at Valentino's with Claire Adams, Bella, Lexi Love, Dade Murphy, and Josef (the best makeup artist in the world). The food was great but took about two hours to get to our table! I was supposed to go to The Evil party, but I'm not 21 so I couldn't go lol! I can fuck on camera but I can't drink jeeeeezus. But Ahhhhh bedtime rest for this wicked soul.
Day Four: Today was the longest day-I signed for five hours from 9 am to 2 pm. The fans were really cool everyday I was here but my feet were really starting to murder me! Around noon Evil Angel had a rare group photo op and it was madness. All of the directors and girls at the booth were posing for a fuckload of people. Truly the hammer of the Gods…I rushed out of there right at 2 and grabbed a quick lunch. Today was the first day I took a nap, even though it was only 30 minutes it made a huuuuge difference. Ian and I went to get my makeup done by Josef and got lost trying to find his room! He made my face up like Aladdin Sane (but in silver). I was debating what to wear and instead of a silver cat suit (more bowie) I wore my second outfit- a silver mini skirt and half shirt ( a la Roger Corman movie). We met Spiegler in his room at 845 with some of the other girls. We got to Mandalay Bay at 900 and right when we got to The Red Carpet they said it was closed. One of the PA's for the show dragged Marie Luv and I and said you can't walk you have to get back stage, wait here and I'll escort you (because we were presenting an award). We stood at the end of the red carpet (where everyone walks off to go inside) pissed! We waited for this guy for so long that we could have walked the red carpet twice!!! Then he brings Jada Fire and tells us to follow him in-suddenly he says wait here. The three of us waited so he could escort Gene Simmons in!!!! I was livid-they treated us like peasants. He finally escorts us backstage where Gene Simmons says, "Nice outfit. But Bowie wouldn't want you anyways." "I know he's married," I said. "That's not what I mean-he's kind of like a Tom Cruise. A wife doesn't mean anything," he replied back. "Hence Aladdin Sane," I said as I walked away. He was trying to imply that my man Bowie completely loves the dick! We all know he enjoys a taste of everything-but damn Gene; don't be jealous because I didn't paint my face like Kiss! That whole situation pretty much killed my mood. The Award show was pretty boring-for me however the big highlights were The Fashionistas stage show amazing; and Larry Flynt's emotional and poignant speech about the first amendment and how many people in this business don't appreciate or even understand the importance of our rights (or lack of). He's right without our first amendment lawyers we would not be able to do what we do so well in this business and grateful for those who fight the good fight. We got out of there just before 1 am and when I got to my hotel I realized I should have worn the cat suit so I changed into it!!! Ian and I gladly rushed off to a non-porn party at Hard Rock. It was a nice change and I even got to see Billy, a good friend of mine. It was Tommy's b-day at a penthouse (with a full barJ) and bowling alley. There were even a few moments of juxtaposition were I was the fan; I met Danny Masterson, Nikki Hilton, etc. I also saw The Strokes, and Incubus. We left around 4 am, sadly having to leave the same day! When I say sad, I mean because I will only be getting a few hours of sleep! We left Vegas on Sunday at 1pm and ate Crepes on the way out. A few tumbleweeds rolled on by and sun set in a blaze of purples and crimson toned hues.
Nifty. Ooh now I know why you vanished after I saw you across the room Saturday night after I couldn't get over to you...you had a better place to go!! Too bad I never got the chance to mingle with you. But my camera definitely digged you at aee, thanks.
It was great to meet you Sasha and congrats on making it through your first show!! Hopefully I'll run into you on one of my California trips this year.
Interesting read Sasha. I was waiting for the part where you had to fight a tranny, over a double ender. But it never happened. It's hard to believe you cant drink legally in Vegas. Were you allowed to gamble at least?

Great write up Sasha! Thanks for sharing!
Any chance of sharing some of your own pics that you took?
I've interviewed both Simmons and Bowie a couple times.
While I'm a big fan of the former, he is pretty much an asshole, and is generally dismissive of women: it doesn't sound like Miss Grey immediately worshipped him, which is what he is accustomed to. He is likely, deep down, jealous that Bowie is more respectable than he.
As for the latter, obviously he lived at the extremes of '70s rock life, which not only involved fooling around with Jagger and Iggy, but snorting the Swiss Alps. Sure, a lotta famous dudes use wives as beards, but I really doubt that that is the case with the Thin White Duke.

"Do you like girls or boys? It's confusing these days ..."
KISS: First couple of albums are pretty great. "Oooooh, Black Diamond!" Simmons a genius of marketing. The make-up thing brilliant. But ... they never could outgrow that. And, aside from a few tunes that have entered the frat-rock canon, and some tasty homages from the Replacements and the Melvins (Hail King Buzzo!!!), the best thing about Kiss is some funny shit Chuck Klosterman wrote about being a Kiss fan in his book "Fargo Rock City," which was a great book, before Klosterman became a total douchebag with nothing interesting or original to say.
BOWIE: Even if you think he checked out circa Niles Rodgers and "Modern Love" (that album is very underrated: check out the sequence in Leos Carax's "Bad Blood," where first I discovered Juliette Binoche, and also the Last Town Chorus's version, spooky and ethereal!), David Jones OWNS the '70s. Fantastic streak of albums/hits. Screen roles. Chameleonic cha-cha-cha. Look at those cavemen go. Me, I lean toward the "Station to Station"-into-"Low" phase, but throw in the weird cabaret pop, the Ziggy rock, the Philly soul, the disco-pop, the Iggy/Lou vortex ... only Dylan had as many different guises, and Dylan was essential a very conservative blues/rock/shuffle guy. Bowie was art and artifice, a circus act, a parallelogram from the fourth dimension, a lost transmission from Planet Dust.
Very cool tour with Reznor. I confess I still kinda like some of his not-great later records. IN the dark and wild years before cel phones were so common, I once drove 4 hours roundtrip from a weekend in the mountains back to my office in downtown Atlanta, just to do a 20-min phone interview with him. And then wrote it up and drove right back. Just one of those things. I doubt I ever even asked a question. It was just, "Hi David ..."
