I'm going to quote what Selena said in her first post when she was approaching the project.
She recognized that shot-at-home is attempting to accomplish something different for a slightly different audience. Not the perfect make-up, perfect lighting, perfect camera, but a more 'intimate, personal' touch. It was a major difference that she tried to accomodate but at the same time also accomodate her regular fans.
As I said in my first response about modes of transportation, you would have to approach looking at it, or making comments about it in a slightly different context.
If there were the difference you are talking about, then a slightly different set of criteria should be applied when talking about it, i.e. comparing it head to head with the major studio productions.
As astro indicated, the reviewers tried to state in each of their reviews they were making adjustments while viewing this film
For the type of movie it is, namely a solo movie and an amateur movie, I think this is a 5 star movie. By the ratings here, 5 star means best, and this is the best I've seen for the style.

Maybe you're right, guys. It's just that I always think about ratings in a 'general' sense, rather in 'per category' sense. (I also prefer older porn with less focus on a particular theme)

Selena is a great woman with a wonderful personality... hence the reason I wanted her to be the one to do this video first. This is not an insult to any of the other great actresses out there, just a complement to Selena. Also, with the was she handles herself, I just knew I would get exactly what I was looking for from her. (Which is always a big plus!) This is a very REAL and very RARE glimpse into the private home/life of Selena. I could not be happier that people are enjoying this for what it is, and realizing just how different/rare/awesome it is.

We are currently working on several avenues of distribution for this title so that people over seas can get their copy. We will keep you updated.
We are also in talks with Selena to try to make this a series that Selena can direct!
I don't think you offended anyone, Zoid. I have to agree that ratings should be genre specific however. Take for instance the My Plaything 'virtual sex' genre. Jenna's is one of the best I've seen, yet there's no b/g sex. Heck even some raincoaters gave that one 5 stars, which I feel it deserved as well.
I haven't seen a lot of amateur videos, but this one does sound like it's very enjoyable and well done.
I think I need to go away more often... it seems like whenever I am gone and off these boards for 4 or 5 days multiple posts break out about me or my movie... when I am here faithfully posting each day - nothing! LOL

@Selena First I must confess that I never heard of you before I got to know ADT, and that was last month. I hope you will forgive me. But without customer reviews it was almost impossible to find the porn movies I really like. There are some good ones, at least some good scenes, but there are also some that aren't worth their money. And very often there's no information about the girls on the DVD, so I don't know most of the names of the girls I like.
Now I read some of your posts, and I am really impressed. Be sure I have respect for every woman, and I am glad to hear that there are also girls in the business who respect me. Of course there are some porn watchers (not fans!) that are contemptuous of women, but there are also those who stand in awe of their beauty. It's good to know that you love your fans (just reading a few of your postings makes it obvious) because it would be a real turn-off to think that the girl I see on the screen just pretends to be willing to arouse me but then laughs about me.
I hope you don't mind reading again what you read more than a thousand times for sure: One day you'll get arrested for manslaughter in the second degree because looking at you I could forget to breathe... so be careful. I don't have to try to describe the girl of my dreams anymore... now I can just show the first picture you posted in this thread... that one says it all. I don't know if a porn star likes to be called cute or sweet... I'm sorry, you are, you like it or not. Thank you for your answer, Selena! I'm sure I'd enjoy all your scenes very much, so I'll check out some reviews to see which of the other scenes also could suit my liking.
Unfortunaly I haven't seen the Selena Silver At Home movie, but what I read about it makes me wanna change that... maybe I'll stick to that one because I get more than one scene starring you in one movie. Please wish me good luck for a well-paid job after college, so I can come back for more.

In case anybody's interested, Shot at Home has a little lost footage from Selena's Shot at Home Alone release in their member's area. Yes, it's a pay site (I'll be writing a little more about it later), but it looks to be a nicely put together pay site with plenty of goodies. There are times like this I really hate dial-up!
