tritone Deactivated User 1009 Posts 4/03	Posted - Sep 18 2006 : 3:37PM Early this month, a new seller named "Fuckenstein" (http://www.adultdvdmarketplace.com/xcart/adult_dvd/user_view.php?listing_login=Fuckenstein ) appeared on adultdvdmarketplace.com and he now has over 29,000 listings. I was initially excited about this because among his listings was a DVD that was out of print that I had been searching for for quite a while. It now lists a new copy that coming from him. But I am concerned about ordering from him because he has no feedback at the moment. I looked at his stats and it says "Fuckenstein" has sold 200+ DVDs. I suppose I need to wait a while because he is new and maybe some transactions have not completed yet. Also, I am sure lots of people do not give feedback even if they are satisfied (I know I have forgotten a few times). Anyway, I am just asking if anyone has heard of "Fuckenstien" before. There is a small part of me that thinks this is some kind of scam where somebody went through all the ADM titles that currently had no listings, and then decided to open up a store that had these titles. Everyone who had watches on these titles would get notified and maybe in their excitement, place an order. After a while he would be found out but not before making a quick buck. Is this concern justified? Does ADM do any kind of screening for sellers who offer so many listings? [Link]

Only been a member for 10 days. Out of those 230 dvds sold as of now, I suspect that a large number of them have not yet been received. On the other hand, a good sized number probably has been received. Like you said, the buyers are probably not headed straight for the keyboard to leave feedback. :) Here is an encouraging thought: How fast do you think any of those buyers would be headed for the kb to leave negative feedback if upon receiving their purchases they were unsatisfied with something? But I don't know if most people leave feedback or not? But I was wondering that myself about "fuckenstein" too. but apparently it is looking legit, I guess. [Link]

I might not have been a scam but a lot of ADTers have had problems with that seller under various names on ADM. He's not an example of a quality seller. We refused to do business with him on ADT after being lied to repeatedly. [Link]

Sent one, then another email to them inquiring about the status. No response to either emails. I sent an email to Adult DVD Marketplace customer service. 2 days later Fuckenstein emailed me telling me that the titles were out of stock and they would refund my credit card. Like I said, it will be my last order. [Link]

It's good to follow up on threads ;) It seems there should be some sort of designation between listings that are dropshipped, and listings that the seller actually has product on hand. If multiple people are reselling from the same place, you can never be certain of inventory status. I have a feeling this guy has good intentions, but once he has money in hand and probelms arrise... his ethics seem to malfunction. Thats typical of the average get rich quick dropshipper mentality. I agree, not a quality seller... I think seller profiles could be improved upon greatly! [Link]

Perhaps a better idea is to offer a sub-market that is limited to certain standards that are considered conducive to a quick turn around. It would be it's own side category, and wouldn't interfere with the normal operation of the site. I don't think it would take anything away from the sellers, just give the buyers that want it another avenue. Gives the sellers one too. [Link]

There are many adult companies that have a presence near "porn valley" in CA. Each morning they drive around to the different studios/vendors and will call items that customers have ordered. The problem is that sometimes the studio/vendor doesn't have it in stock or can't find it. The company then has to second source it from one of the distributors or cancel the item on the customer's order. I'm not sure how many of these companies are also ADM sellers but the will call on demand practice is different than a drop ship. We don't list anything on ADM unless we physically have it in-stock. It would be nice to be differentiated from the drop ship and will call sellers, but it would likely be very difficult to police. As soon as one of these sellers were "outed," they would start a new seller ID. The whole point is for them to be able to leverage their location (will call) and/or relationships (drop ship) to appear like they actually already own what they are offering. It's VERY rare for me to get an e-mail from a seller letting me know how and when my order is going to ship. Normally if I'd get an e-mail from a seller saying "sorry, we thought we had it in stock and don't. We can either backorder it for you in which case it'll be here in a few days or cancel the order with our apologies." there wouldn't be a problem. I'm happy that I can tell you changes are coming that are going to give sellers a way to distinguish themselves, AND make it easier for all members to communicate. This is going to be a slow process considering the size of ADM. It's at the drawing board stage now, but I promise you that it is a serious effort. [Link]
