In my youth I worked in customer service and you could have a great day for 7 hours and 55 minutes and one jerk could sometimes ruin your whole day with a 5 minute hostile call if you let them. I’m a little late but.. Sasha Grey on Tyra. I just watched the Sasha Grey's interview on Tyra. I know it's late but me and my cousin were just talking about it, so we watched it. I must say it was the most horrible interview I have ever seen a porn star do. I have to rant about this because it is just embarrassing. When asked why.. She changes the subject. But when asked about STD's she says the truth. When those questions come up, you reply "I'm sorry Tyra, I can't talk about that. It's too personal." Mark looks like a horrible manager to me. I almost joined his agency at one time. Thank god I didn't. Any manager that is having his girls do anal, DP's, ANYTHING at 18.. Is not a good manager. I had to beg mine just to do an interracial scene. Her career is going to be short lived. Mark lies about taking money from her. Here is the correct response: "I take 10% because I need to pay employees to make phone calls, send out emails, send transportation, etc. These things cost money. I work for Sasha, she does not work for me." I believe they made the industry look bad. Tyra was actually a little supportive of what I saw.. Not judgemental. When asked why.. MY correct response anyways is "I want to get a head start on life. There are no jobs in Ohio.. Therefore, when I have a house paid off I have less stress to worry about for the rest of my life. Even if I had an 8 year degree, there are no jobs." I'm contacting the Tyra show. I want them to re-do this show. I think this is totally uncalled for. I'm disgusted by Sasha's demeanor to Tyra. If she doesn't want to be on the show, why be on it? Just for publicity? That's shitty. But it happens every day. I want to go on the show for the right reasons. At the end, Tyra asked why? Sasha just has that "Because I want to && because I can attitude." Sasha doesn't want to be portrayed as a young girl.. But that's what she is. There's no way around it. I felt the same way at a time. But saying "I'm not looking like a young girl." is a lie. I know I look young. I have learned to cherish it and couldn't be happier. Mark should coach her how to do interviews. Sasha likes to make porn in a sex-positive way. But the types of movies she does makes it the complete opposite. How is slapping, spitting, etc. sex-positive? I don't get it. She says she will do anything. Even in porn I believe you need restrictions. She doesn't like porn. She likes the money. When a real actress goes on an interview, they are themselves. They don't play their character. Sasha played her porno character. I am not afraid to tell you "I am a NORMAL girl who just happens to make porn." && that's my message. End.
I think she should stop changing her name, but she does look a lot better than when she first broke into the business. I've heard some pretty bad things about her, such as fighting drug addiction and such, so I can only hope for the best.

Actually, you do have a valid point.. Spiegler is a way better agent than Skooby. But again, there is no reason to lie. I just don't think "um" and looking at the floor with no eye contact is a good interview (even if a lot is edited out, there should be none of that). This isn't anything personal- only about the interview. It's just something that irks the hell out of me, think she could have done so much better. I hope I experience Tyra also. I'll show you how it could be done if they give me the chance :)
I agree that even a bad or negative question can be answered with wit and intellect, but when there are five cameras shooting you while you are being interviewed they get shots of you “listening” and “responding”. Next…they take your “listening” shots and pair them up with the interviewer’s questions and make it look like you had nothing to say, or very little to say. This is called montage (editing). And if you aren’t “educated’ enough to know this, then I truly feel sorry for you. I am not going to lie about STD’s, or not answer the question, it is a risk I take in this business, and it’s an occupational hazard. It’s a tough question for some people, but I like to be honest. So of course they will put my actual response in the final cut for a dramatic question, it’s called using “sound bites” for shock value! So, if you want to know why I am in the business-I have done enough decent interviews for one to find out, you also could have asked me or looked on my myspace page. I am not ashamed about what I do, and why I do it I have said this before and I’ll say it again porn doesn’t pay enough to do it just for the money. If I didn’t like porn, I wouldn’t still be here after almost two years. How can you say I do porn for the money, when you admit in a round about way that’s your reasoning? You say because there are no jobs in Ohio? I highly doubt that, and theoretically, if that was the case you could have came to California and pursued a different career. That’s an extremely pessimistic attitude-there are no head starts on life it’s a wheel as Boethius said.
My agent doesn’t “have me” do anything. I choose to participate in sex acts on camera that most people would consider extreme, because I practice the very same acts in my personal life-that’s right even before I was in the pornography business. Being sex positive and sexually empowered is the idea of being free to make your own healthy choices, being PROUD, and confident in what you chose to do sexually. Whether you like to have sex in one position with the lights off, or you like to be tied up and spat on-it is how you go about these explorations, experiences, etc. making consensual decisions with your partner and understanding risks that may be involved. Perceptions on “extreme sex” like these are what cause divorces, rape, and insecurities in our world. I do agree that my agent should not have said he doesn’t get paid, but I do not speak for him. When I said I don’t want to be portrayed as a young girl, I meant that it’s ridiculous to not tell the audience that you are playing out a fantasy, that you are role playing-and even before that show I have made it a point not to do scenes where that isn’t clear. I get a lot of criticism because of my sexual interests, and my outspoken nature-that’s what makes me, me. You may not ever have to face the same judgement that I do because I have different tastes than you, so if you were to go on a show like this, they most likely wouldn’t persecute you the way they did me on Tyra, and many other programs. What you see is what you get with me, but not when I’m on tv (like anyone in the media). Usually I could care less about someone’s opinion but that fact that you are in the business I find it incredibly disrespectful and distasteful that you chose to go on a public forum and make such comments and hold such animosity towards someone you don’t know, someone in your own business. It’s hard enough for our industry to get respect and recognition, and to ostracize a performer is like ostracizing yourself. We have to stick together in this dogmatic fight against pornography. If you have such strong feelings about this, it’s not that difficult to contact me. And as far as “medical problems” and wearing diapers-our society should really do some research for themselves, not listen to a celebrity addiction medicine specialist (who was paid to speak on Tyra’s show).

I have to side with Shawna in what she said in her blog.. I do not think I have ever seen a girl within the industry come across as bad as Sasha did in that interview. I will also agree that her agent should have been looking out for her better she was made to look like a girl who was in way over her head on the Tyra show and I believe they may be right

Shawna no offense, but you are a few sandwiches shy of a picnic basket on this issue darling! Sasha came across very well in that interview, it was Tyra that came off poorly. She had an agenda and there was nothing Sasha could have done to change that. Unfortunately you are not, and probably will never be, a big enough name to get on the Tyra Banks show yourself to see how you would handle the questioning.
