Are you SURE you read Sasha's post? She said that she DID respond to Tyra's questions. I talked to Mark right after the taping, and he told me about some of the things Sasha said on the show. Those things didn't make it on the air. It doesn't really matter anyway, Sasha's proven her intelligence over and over in conversations I've had with her. I'd take 1 Sasha for every 10 Kara/Shawna's out there.

I wasn't talking about looks. I was talking about intelligence and common sense, which is what Shawna was being insulting about RE: Sasha. And for what it's worth: I prefer Sasha's looks. A blonde would have to blow me away in order for me to prefer her.
I'm definitely more into the Sasha/Stoya look ... pale skin and dark hair on a woman makes me feel positively vampiric! ... although the O.G. "Kara" had immense "jailbait" appeal in some of her early scenes. THat's probably what she is trying to put behind her with the image makeover, etc.
I guess as far as looks go everyone has their own tastes and a hot tanned blonde is to my liking far more than a girl is pale looking ... Now as far as intelligence and common sense go I think your letting your friendship with Sasha cloud your judgement on this one. If it was the other way around and Shawna had done the interview and Sasha had written the blog you would be her defending Sasha in how right she was about the interview. Sasha let the Tyra show portray very poorly edited or not she was porly representive of the girls in the industry. I would have alot more respect for her if she would say yes I screwed up and I will not let that happen again

I don't think my view of what was said would change. I was trying to point out to Shawna that she was accusing Sasha of not knowing how to give a good interview, which I don't believe is the case. As someone who's represented Sasha as a publicist at several events, I've seen her answer some really difficult questions with intelligence, sexuality and grace. I was also annoyed that she didn't acknowledge that a person's words can be twisted or cut to be me made to look very different than what they really were. I wished Sasha wouldn't have done that interview, but it's not because I think she didn't know how to answer the questions well, it was because I was sure that the show would have an agenda.

Your right this is were common sense and experience should have stepped in and maybe Sasha say to herself maybe this isnt the best interview to do at this point. Or maybe a agent who would say Sasha in your best interest this isnt the right interview to do...Didnt Casey Parker go on the Tyra show she wasnt made to look as poorly as Sasha maybe that has more to do with the people represent Casey
And yet Shawna is on here lobbying as hard as she can to get on the show... See the irony?

Didn't see that one. I think the topic of Sasha's show was "Teens in the Sex Trade" ... which has a more downbeat, smarmy vibe to it. Listen, Tyra makes jackbooted bull dykes dress up like prom queens before they take the stage. She's not really interested in who people really are. How many times she's worked for Holly Randall... eh, it's not worth the time, because I'd lose count of how many covers she's had. I love how you act like you're an innocent smiley little girl, but then you purposely say a spiteful comment, like she's 'alright' or 'not ugly'. While Sasha is already booked to be the lead in John Stagliano's next feature, good luck searching for that contract you hope to land. And I sincerely hope that Tyra does book you. Now I'll let your fans have their thread back, cause I've officially lost all interest. Sasha is average looking there is nothing special about her appearence. The thing that makes her popular is she will do anything when it comes to scenes. I for one see a girl pale white like Sasha I tend to think she is sickly. If you were to see Sasha at club a person wouldnt be say wow look at that hot chick it would be more like she kind of cute I guess. Now Shawna as Kara was average herself but she has fixed herself up quite nice and is a real stunner now. If you want I can give you a list of 50 girls that are better looking than Sasha working right in the industry. The fact she is booked in your next feature doesnt make her better looking
While in ideal world, this Shawna/Sasha face-off would find its resolution in a scene on whippedass.com, I won't be holding my breath on that one. Yeah Casey and Myself went on.I can totally attest to the amount of editing. I can also say our subject "dorm porn" was not as harsh of a subject. I can tell you before the show they gave me a script with my answers already writen in LOL. But they said is was based off of my answers in the phone interviews. 2 min before filimng started they let me know they were going off script ... which was not a big deal for me or casey. BUT i think a big part of the reason it wasn't a big deal is because casey and I both were aware of Sasha's experience with the creative editing of the show .. so we kept that in mind and made sure to try and include the question in our answers so we would hopefully be subjected to less creative editing. At bare minimum i was going to make it hard as hell and take lots of time to edit me LOL It comes down to ratings. Rolling Stone did a 5 page story on us.. the people who came to to the interview and went to a college invasion party with us ..loved us, had tons of fun and had a "good spin" on the original story. The story that was published was VERY negative. I am sure it sold more copies because of that. Like sascha said it all comes down to sound bites. Like it or not most of the time porn stories "sell" better with a negative spin. i also think the general population is more receptive to them that way. Doesn't mean we should stop doing them. Even if they are "bad" i think lots of people are smart enough to draw their own conclusions. The people who now look down upon the industry after Sasha's visit to Tyra .. where going to think that way any way. She did not change their minds.But the "good" do the same thing and hopefully remind people their are two sides to every story. I think sasha did the best she was able to.She came off intelligent and never waivered in her views. That is 9/10ths of the battle. The last thing Tyra said to us when we were walking off set was "Sorry i had to be so harsh but i have young girls that are viewers so i have make sure they don't get the idea of the profession from the show".Which i found odd considering how many shows she does on the biz. Just a few months ago we were asked back.. we declined. But i see that point as well. We all do what we can do, when we can.I for one am totally for sascha doing more interviews .. good or bad. She carries herself very well, is smart and puts a new face to porn. i also think Shawanna has that right too. Maybe she can do it better, maybe not. But my favorite part was after Tyra gave us her speech Jack venice told her she was the first girl he ever wanked it too and that she should not forget her roots .. she fed the sex industy for years by modeling in Victoria Secrets.She got really huffy and said that was not the intention of the magazine, it was to sell panties. he told her "Keep telling yourself that sweetie" and laughed. The look on her face was awesome =) For those who have not seen the one of Casey and I .. it's on my myspace for DL'ing. I think with the editing i came off fairly well and was honest to myself. Shawna - This will be my last post to you. I was completely on-topic. You said that Sasha was average looking. I was simply musing about why she'd be on so many covers if someone somewhere didn't disagree with you. I never called you ugly. But nice try. I can say that I think that Sasha is better than 'average' without implying that 'you're the ugly one'. This has really turned into a stupid thread. Sasha, Shawna and Tricia having a cat fight over a stupid topic; Sasha's Trya Banks appearance. Face it. It turned out to be very creepy in the eyes of the general public. While the thought of the three of them fighting is strokeworthy it just reinforces the public notion that porn chicks are fucked up because what they are fighting over is essentially stupid.

Of the 12 girls that were up for Penthouse pet this past year Sasha would rank at bottom 2 girls in appearence. Penthouse has seriously hit the skids in recent years. I don't think anyone "cashes in chips" to be in Penthouse. I think Penthouse is more likely trying to find names from the adult industry to drive up its circulation, which has been in a full-on death spiral. The Big 3 adult stars to appear in Penthouse last year were Stormy Daniels, Justine Joli and Sasha, and I suspect it had a lot to do with their crossover appeal ... The images in Penthouse are no longer pornographic. And with Sasha they used a mainstream photographer known for his affection for porn, Terry Richardson. (I thought Penthouse did a crappy job selecting the photos to use). So, it was all a very calculated, deliberate bid by Penthouse to grab some sales, I think. ... I imagine you think Justine is just "OK," too. My point being, Penthouse must have been drawn to certain types of porn stars, esp. if they only picked three ... which suggests to me that if Sasha is up there with two established, long-term players, she must be doing something right. More than likely, it's everything you don't like about her that is working in her favor. Look at the crazy success of Richardson's Xrated stuff, R. Kern, Vice magazine, etc .... it's not ALL about the blonde, tan, stripper, bimbo look ... I saw this thread before but really never paid it any attention because the only thing i know about the girl with revolving names is she changes her names a lot.
Now that this thread is six pages long - i am pretty sure i can see who Kara Bare, Kara Mynor Shawna etc etc is as a person. However, there is a couple of things I don’t understand. The first being why you && do that in your posts. And secondly, have you ever sat down to talk with Sasha Grey or Tricia or even Threesomebody before you judge them? I highly doubt it. Personally I have and I have come to realize that Tricia is one of the most intelligent girls in the business not to mention she busts her ass every day. And Sasha amazed me with her knowledge on life, business and music when I interviewed her. She is was beyond her years. This is why, I am sure, people like Tricia and Belladonna have much respect for her and took her under their wing for her career. And as for looks - perky blondes are a dime a dozen in this business and I totally agree with Skronker – dark hair and pale skin is really hot and brings out the vampire in me. But that’s neither here nor there, everyone has their own tastes. It’s nice you have a house and are booked for three months in advance, but you will learn life is not about materialistic items for some people. It is the personality of the person. All that being said… Sometimes you just shouldn’t shit where you eat Kara Bare-Kara Mynor-Shawna Lenee.

Wow, this is getting ugly. I actually do like Sasha's pale skin/dark hair look more than blonde Kara, and I never like to get involved in arguments on any forum, but let's not get nasty here. For all the praise Sasha gets for being outspoken, I'd think people could at least commend Shawna for taking the time to express her opinion. Even if the editing was bad, it seemed that one of her main points was that Sasha came off too much like a stereotypical porn star - she seemed a bit cold, and removed from the mainstream in how she thinks of sex and pornography - rather than a woman to whom average viewers might relate. I don't think it's simply a matter of editing, and I also don't want to come across as insulting to Sasha here - I think part of her appeal is that she *is* so different and has such a rare outlook on sex and on the industry. But I also feel like anyone watching the show who was on the fence might have been more receptive to Kara's more "normal" attitude. Again, I think Sasha is a blessing to porn viewers, but mainstream America might not be ready for her. Sasha has plenty of fans, and Kara/Shawna (sorry I keep slipping up with the name! [o\|]) says she's happy with her fan base as well. Why do we have to keep dragging this out and bashing Shawna, who seems like a sweet, passionate woman who made a few poorly-worded comments? It seems like she was uninformed on some of her points, but has been willfully taken the wrong way on others. I read this without any partisanship, and the personal attacks from both sides are disheartening. Can't we accept that not everyone in porn has the same opinions, and thank both of these women for their work instead of choosing sides and attacking them and telling them why and how they should do porn? And now there are attacks being made on their FANS? Come on, we're better than this.
