They're just using that kind of marketing so that way people watch their stuff. I do agree it's weird but it's not really the porn industries fault, blame society. The one thing that does bother me is all that there is a cuckstar video that has been on pornhubs front page for a few days now.
I think it's a symptom of what has been afflicting the porn industry for at least a decade and it is that you once had so many studios producing porn that this kind of stuff could easily be overlooked because it was a wave in the ocean but now that most of those studios are gone than it's a wave in a small pool and you can't overlook it. It's also lazy marketing.
That Jennifer Jane scene is a perfect of a mix of both lazy marketing and utter lack of imagination because it's an Eastern European porn scene where there will be very little dialogue and mostly just sex so why even bother with a pseudo-incest theme. Any fan of incest will be disappointed as it's not going to be good or believable. fans of the women may be turned off with the premise and you lose them there.
I'm sure any of you can very easily come up with a storyline that makes perfectly sense about why a younger teen is even in the same room with an older than her dad guy , not to mention the kind of intimacy about why one of them or even both are perfectly comfortable walking around half naked
Unless you do , I'm guessing the step- thing is likely staying

Porn has a few interesting problems in the taboo genre: it's always the B/G scenes that get the five star treatment, fauxcest is the default and even the most sinister themed depraved scene is always done with kid gloves. The fauxcest is something I accept but it doesn't work as a turn on due to serious abuse, I would like someone innovative to come up with controversial depravity in scenes of both the B/G and G/G variety that actually feels as menacing as those Japanese groping scenes that are arguably notorious. If you've ever watched one of those, yes it's 'censored' and you can't understand the language at least in the full on Asian ones as opposed to the ones where they bring an American performer into the mix but the reactions of the women in those scenes put most of our taboo material here in the states to SHAME. I remember watching one with Dani Jensen and her facial expressions and body language were so fantastic in it all. It worked HUGELY, same with Lexi Belle and another performer on a bus. I understand the allure of the soap opera like setup of alot of the scenes out there but when it's done in such a fashion that it makes you feel like this could happen in your own town or city, it takes it up a notch.

It was asked on the Holly Randall podcast to I forgot which performer about why there is so much step-mom type porn. I want to say the performer was either Cherie or Julia but anyways, the answer was simple. The viewers watch it so the studios continuously make them. Like if the viewers stop watching family themed porn then the studios will stop making it alot. I know its hard because stop watching family themed porn is like not watching porn period unless you go to gonzo BUT if you really want to get rid of family themed porn you are going to have to maybe stop watching porn for the most part until something changes. As long as are watching it then the studios will continue to produce is because thats what is popular based on viewership.
Personally I don't care too much because unlike other genres it's just based on words. I know that if I want to see an anal scene I'll see a penis going into an ass. I know if there's a "interracial" scene there will be a black performer and a white one; I know that if a scene is labeled deepthroat I will see a deepthroat. In most of those "family porn" scene a lot of times there's absolutely no difference from what you will see in a normal scene. If someone is taking a man and a woman of roughly the same age and they call them stepbrothers, it's no more than words. And in the next scene you could see the same performers labeled as stepmother and stepson, or mother and son, or father and daughter because most of the studios don't even care to make a realistic age difference. Just words.

I find it annoying, but at the same time it's so obviously fake that it's hard to credit.
I am curious though, if they dropped the "step", what would happen? Given that the scenario is fictional and the performers of course are not actually related, what is the actual legal liability?
Family scenes have a lot of utility. I mean, it's nice to have a setup to give at least a little context for the viewer to provide an emotional backdrop to the action, and the emotional backdrop should be congruent to culture for best effect. With family scenes you can have older-younger or same age, gg, bg, or any combination, plus any one of the performers can viably be the leader... Hot naive stepmom with aggressive college-aged son, vivacious step-sister seduced bookish step-brother, aloof dad in dad jeans hits it off equally with quiet step-daughter after an afternoon of video games....or whatever.
It's a wonderful narrative device, because it allows for so much flexibility while also providing a tongue-in-cheek and often light-hearted atmosphere. Moreover, 'bad' acting actually serves the setup rather than detracting from it.
What other narrative device in porn provides more utility?
^ I concur , it's a tool used and maybe overused all over the world , it allows storylines for grandmothers too for those into GILF , also it works with every genre
I once saw a Japanese movie of the "molester" series it shows many set-ups and is very clearly a fake thing , but may give interesting set-ups for example a man jump on a bus to molest some woman after some touching the girl heats up and begun to react, at one point she turns her head and he could see it's his own "horrified" daughter (step or whatever). Kinda the same but this time it's the girl reverse molesting a guy on a crowded bus she begun to agitate her hips and ass pushing against his groin then she puts her hand on it and begun to excite him, she unzips him and force him to have sex with her then she turn back and eventually finds out it's her father-step-brother-uncle or whatever he was
this changes the whole thing completely
anyway it's a tool , no different than the pizza guy/girl, the plumber, the pool guy or whatever overused set-up to justify the presence of a complete stranger into someone's house alone with a woman
^ and ^^. I'm in full agreement. I like these 'family' scenes because they offer a scene set-up and they create a sexual tension between the cast. I really don't even think about the fact that they are playing relatives (full or step), I just like the fact that the scenes typically start slow and build up to the breaking point. I suspect that some other scenarios could do that too (adultery scenes maybe, but those aren't common). The family scenario lends itself well to building this tension.
Another draw for me specific to (step)father / (step)daughter scenes is that if they are done right they also fall into one of my favourite niches of old/young.
The 'family' aspect of these scenes is neither a repellent nor a draw for me. I like the scenes for other reasons.
First of all: There is enough other stuff on the market.
Second: If you shoot Fauxcest .. do it in a good way... most fauxcest scenes start with a fauxcest build up... but as soon as the action starts it becomes just another sexscene (no mention of fauxcest at all).
As the father of teenage children, I'm with OP. Even though I know it's fake, it just grosses me out. That said, I enjoy the sexual tension/buildup and wish there was more of that.
And since I don't like it, I don't watch, as others have suggested.
Yeah, these incest scenarios are freakin' turnoff for me. I totally don't see the tension in a story about young adult banned from going out or sent to some strict uncle on his supervision. The nice things in porn are freedom and exhibitionism, not punishemnt and hypocrisy. I can possibly watch such a scene with nice positions skipping the intro, if only a girl doesn't call her partner a cousin/stepbrother/stepfather constantly.
^ I second that, 18-25 hotties paired with guys between 30 and 50 look arousing, usually much hotter than with young male talents (ain't many of them in the industry, and they often play with milfs, coincidece? ), It puts a little bit of spice to the story.

Not a fan. Some 70s features, most famously Taboo, dealt with the incest theme/fantasy in an interesting way but todays half-assed vignettes are a snooze.
I'm generally a fan, but I respect the reasons of those who aren't. Hell even in that Twitter thread from Mike Quasar Alura Jensen Chimed in that she was no longer doing taboo scenes, we'll see of course.
I think pornhub or some other site drops some stats on the most searched content every year. Family themes are popular and they peak during holiday season.
It is what it is.. Kind of like how a big ass lover has to scrounge through countless skinny girl content that seems to be more common than anything else.
I understand if they view something from Japanese Taboo movies...but american family porn is so lame-unrealistic,unserious,comedic scenarios...nothing to see there

FB and other internet companies have had their 'data-driven approach' proven to be marketing bullshit too often for me to take any claim of that nature at face value.
I think its just a general conversation. The "skip ahead of the scene" is literally kryptonite to most conversations here no?
Ofcourse its obvious that if your not into family themed porn to just not watch or skip ahead. But i thinks fine to have a conversation about the amount of family theme porn that has increased within the last 10 years.
Perhaps one reason for the amount of "Family Porn" is that a lot of us like scenes where there is context for the sex, which involves a build-up to the action, seduction, and usually inappropriate relationships. Family porn has become a rather unimaginative way to incorporate such scenarios. Jacky St James has done some good stuff, and Jodi West in a campy sort of way, but most of it is pretty unremarkable. Unless Alexis Fawx or India Summer is playing the mom that is!
If there was a new star I liked and she was in scenes seducing her step-dad it wouldn't put me off her, but it is quite understandable that others are repelled by these scenarios.
^I know I like scenario driven porn and I'm okay with family themed porn but I would rather see different themes than just those because too many producers have over saturated the market with those type of scenarios. I agree with you that lack of imagination is part of why they keep going back to family porn because they could do plenty of inappropriate scenarios by using themes that involve the neighbors daughter, their daughters school friend, a young work subordinate. Doing family porn is just them being lazy.
It's not about them being lazy anymore than Blacked being lazy because they always do interracial, Legal Porno almost always doing extreme gangbangs/sex, etc., etc...with some of these companies the family porn has become their brand/indentity and their customer base likes and expects it. It actually involves more work to come up with, direct, and shoot a scene involving an actual story of some sort than porn where the girl is just there nude or semi-dressed and a guy just appears and they just have sex. Most porn studios have some sort of theme they're known for and do it regularly it's funny to see people pick out one and claim they're tired of it while so many other studios do their one thing with far less variation and they're fine with those.
YES!!!! I've said this several times before but as much as I like pure gonzo where there is no context or setup provided or even needed (Mike Adriano's scenes, for example) I also like scenes where there is a setup that creates some sexual tension. I'm not necessarily into family porn, but I tend to look for it because when it is done right it gives that sexual tension. New Sensations and Daughter Swap come to mind as good examples of this.
Also, I like older man / younger woman scenes and those are often shot in the context of family porn too.
It's hard to explain, but for me the arousal doesn't come from the 'this guy is fucking his stepdaughter' aspect but from the aspect that these two people have thrown aside convention because the sexual tension between them has built to the breaking point.
Taboo 1-4 are so good. Anything after that was forced, but if there's a hot girl in it, the taboo thing adds to the overall watching experience.

It's obviously a matter of taste, but I think the concept is fine. The problem for me is that there is a glut of it on the market and a lot of it isn't very high quality. Like someone said there needs to be a certain build up, some suspense, some trepidation on the parts of the participants. This being porn, no one is expecting Oscar calibre performances but too much is just paint by numbers. Also, I personally wish there were more anal. Except for the stepmom caught vids they seems to mostly stay away from that.
I'm not opposed to 'family' porn and even like some aspects of it, but, like you, I wish there were more scenes with anal sex in them. Don't dads and stepdads ever fuck their daughters/stepdaughters in the ass? What is this world coming to?
It's not the type of scenario that I gravitate towards but I also don't avoid it so my info is limited as opposed to those who follow it more religiously but I think producers of this kind of porn use it more as a lure to get people to join their site without ever investing the time and/or the money to make their scenarios believable except on a very superficial level. Now don't get me wrong. They aren't the only ones to do a piss poor in developing their scenarios but because there scenarios really need time to create a somewhat believable relationship between the performers means that if they don't do it right then what you wind up with his a young woman having sex with (usually an older) a man or woman. In fact I would argue that most of the porn today is basically performer "A" having sex with performer "B" something that they have likely done multiple times before on other sites and the only thing different is the setup or the type of penetration in the scene.
I haven't been a member in a while but Pure Taboo used to shoot some decent family scenario driven porn where it was obvious they had invested the time and money into the scene because the acting was better and they spent more time setting the relationships up. Two good examples of what I'm talking about star the same performer. Chloe Cherry in Taking the Enema shot in 2017 and Father Unleashed shot in 2018. The first one was shot in two rooms and the entire pre-sex setup is about 15 minutes. The scene is an hour long and only a 1/4 of the run time is dedicated to the setup but to me that is a 15 minute well spent and adds a level of intensity that would not have been there if you had Chloe having sex with the two men. The other was a little bolder in their setup because they had an actual outside location shoot before moving to the main room of the shoot. This one also used about 15 minutes to setup the characters and this is key to my enjoyment of scenario driven porn. I want to see someone other than Chloe having sex with Steve and Mick. If I want to see that than I pick the videos where she has already done that. If you check out those two videos then you will notice something that is often missing in other scenario driven porn scenes. Chloe isn't called Chole in the scenes. The producers have wisely given her a different name allowing us (the viewer) to imagine that it's someone other than porn performer Chloe Cherry.
I reviewed some New Sensations-Digital Sin flicks in 2014.
I don't think the "Fauxcest" term even existed at the time but three of them are now under that heading when my reviewed films are sorted by category:
Our Family Trust, Keep It in the Family and Mother Knows Best.
All three were well-crafted but I seem to remember that the fauxcest qualities quickly gave way to the typical sex scene where the set-up is mostly forgotten.
Meanwhile, one of those Jodi West flicks Blended & Twisted (2012) was lumped in with the rest of the feature reviews.
I liked Jodi's movie as long as she was onscreen. Some of the performers around her were sub par
and made this film quite inferior to something like Playing with Fire or those first two Taboo films from the classic era.
Since these reviews were written, I have seen some Euro trash scenes with these fauxcest themes and those fell into the "half-assed" category that Black 6 mentioned.
So, I am guessing there are plenty of these lame fauxcest scenes that you can easily skip past the set-ups.
Yes, the fauxcest category is relatively new here, as movies with fauxcest get edited, the category gets added to them. There are a lot of old films that have that theme but aren't listed in the category yet.
The "family porn" theme will probably never go away because it's so flexible and there's so much you can do with the genre. There are certain sub-themes in the "family porn" genre Like sex with step-father, step-brother, step-mom, etc., but the genre as a whole offers many popular aspects of porn. There's the MILF appeal, the young girl appeal, young girl with an older woman appeal, young girl with an older man appeal, two you girls together appeal, young guy-young girl appeal, etc., etc.... Plus you can do so many different scenarios within that genre...Sex with the neighbor, sex the babysitter, sex with daughter's friend, sex with son's girlfriend, cheating spouse, the taboo of having sex with a step-daughter/son, etc., etc...You can do one on one sex, three-way sex, orgies, wife swaps, daughter swaps, hotwife/swingers sex, sex with teacher, etc., etc,...
The sex with an actual storyline or set-up of some sort holds an appeal to many porn fans. I understand that many people prefer are are content to watch porn that opens with a naked girl lounging around with little to no clothes on and suddenly a guy just walks in the shot and they start going at it but there are some people that like or prefer some sort of story or reason for the sex to happen. Some people like seeing the girl starting out dressed in some sort of normal scenario with a build up to the sex act. There are so many stories/scenes you can come up with in the "family porn" setting.
^ I suspect you are correct and family porn will never disappear but it shows a significant lack of imagination on the part of most porn producers that this is one of the more common scenario being shot where not that long ago those were rare and instead producers shot scenarios of the local hot MILF, father of a friend, sister/brother of a friend having sex sex with a younger gilr/guy. I do not consider those scenarios to be family porn as none of the characters having sex are related.
Let me use your suggestion of a guy walking on a naked/semi-naked girl that leads to them having sex. If the girl is already naked/semi-naked and she has sex almost right away then that is the basic premise of just about every gonzo porn scene but in a scenario driven porn scene that should not happen. A scenario driven porn scene needs a build up to get to the sex portion and if it's not there then it's basically gonzo with a slightly different flavor(see just about every VXG video). To get a decent or better scenario driven porn scene requires that the people behind the camera have the will, money and technical capability to shoot those kind of porn scenes. Sadly all 3 are rarely together and therefore most scenario driven porn scenes are mediocre at best.
In my scenario of a guy walking on a naked/semi-naked girl. You would have had prior scenes where the guy sees the girl wearing clothes that are preferably more conservative so that when he does see her(and we as the audience also see her) then we get to see how hot looking she is and it adds to the heat index of the scene.
I ignore the "step" what-ever titling just to see my favorite actress in a scene, although it somehow made these scenes lame anyway. Seems like PC got into adult industry and now scenes just aren't as dirty and hardcore as years past. I liked it years back when there were body part, boobs, butt themed videos or gonzo style porn. The whole "step" story ruined the interracial genre too.
^I can appreciate where you're coming from but I have an issue with your use of the word child because there are no children in porn and therefore using the expression step-ch..d is misleading. Step-son and step-daughter are acceptable because they don't imply an underage person but step-ch..d does.
Like any other "trend" in porn these days, if something sells well, every company churns them out until the sales fall, then they move on to the next "trend." Remember when one out of every three releases was This Isan't/ain't [insert any show or movie name] XXX: The adult parody? For at least the last decade, porn mostly follows the popular "trend."
